This GP activist berates the party for such a slow press release, calling it a ‘TERFS field day’. Then gets his arse handed to him in the comments below...

The Challenors (Tina / Aimee) were membership secretary just for the local Green Party branch surely? Not the party as a whole?

CesiraAndEnrico · 27/08/2018 07:54

What is the name of David Challenor's wife and is she still membership secretary?

I have Tina in my head. But... head not always reliable.

I don't recall anything from the Greens saying mum has been given the boot. Although reading between the lines, and what family friends were posting about "fabricated evidence" on SM, there is a risk that she was one of the wittiness saying the girl was a fantasist. And she was an adult in the home when the animal cruelty conviction happened. And she was certainly aware of the arrest/charges/nature of the trial. Cos she posted about the circs. of the arrest on SM.

Namechanged

Just to clarify so I'm sure I understand.

The greens knew about the mass blocklist (and used it ?) and possibly doxxing by Aimee ?

But still allowed that family home to be their local HQ, with access to local, personal data as a result ?

And Aimee's other roles in the party may have provided access to other personal data ?

If yes to any of the above, which agency should be involved in an investigation of the Greens to consider whether there was a flagrant lack of risk assessment over the protection of data, and the possible sharing of data with people not supposed to see it ? And why aren't they ?

FlippinFumin · 27/08/2018 08:18

Is data protection/privacy just taken less seriously in Britain ? Maybe because you have Brexit over the horizon so the laws won't necessarily apply to you for much longer

Oh no. Several people in the organisatioin I work for have been sacked for breaching GDPR since the new rules. Locks have been added to previously easily accessed doors of rooms with financial and personnel data. And everyone is scared shitless of being the next one fired for a breach. The sort of thing the Coventry Green Party was doing could end up costing them a lot of money, should anyone decide to question and report. With evidence, like the evidence already out there.

JoanSummers · 27/08/2018 08:38

Why is Aimee seen as a 'rising star' in the Greens and how has Aimee managed to gather so much power and position so quickly?

Aimee was nominated and seconded by Aimee's own parents for election and at least half of the assentors backing Aimee's nomination were close family friends. If Aimee was a popular candidate surely that wouldn't have been necessary? There would have been a range of people represented for Aimee's election nomination, but the list is dominated (padded out) by just two families.

And then Aimee was unsuccessful in Aimee's ward election and recieved only 604 votes at the GE. Aimee basically has no popularity at all with anyone in Coventry or beyond, outside of their own family and friends.

Trans positive policy is dominating the political agenda and a tiny well funded and well connected circle are leading the whole thing, but there is no safeguarding, no background checks, no transparency, no accountability, and no popular support. We have had two big wake up calls very close together with Jess Bradley and Aimee Challenor. How many more and how much worse does it need to get?

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 08:44

Incredible ⁦**@TheGreenParty⁩ haven’t suspended membership of trans spokesperson Aimee Challenor for employing a man charged with paedophilic rape, kidnap & torture as her election agent. Yet they suspended & expelled a woman for using wrong pronouns.

Yeah. The GP have its priorities in the right order.

CaitlynsCat · 27/08/2018 08:44

Aimee seems to have had unquestioning acceptance from the beginning:

This is to 17-year-old Aimee:

twitter.com/RADFORD_RHINOS/status/516917385845293056
twitter.com/ruth_hunt/status/536494026581901312

Ruth Hunt met Aimee, who weeks earlier had been calling themselves Aoibheann

twitter.com/stonewalluk/status/497291683550474242

and not many weeks before that Ashton

twitter.com/innocent/status/455665176571027456

And decided 'Yes, this is the sort of person we need to appoint to our advisory group' www.stonewall.org.uk/trans-advisory-group

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 08:48

The sort of thing the Coventry Green Party was doing could end up costing them a lot of money, should anyone decide to question and report. With evidence, like the evidence already out there.

One can only hope.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 27/08/2018 08:48

Went off on a offshoot of Reece's Twitter comments and found a bizarre discussion between some greens on the speed of response and on false names (I'm not sure if they are trying to claim that Challenor snr got a place at pride with a false name, but not sure that makes sense as allegedly they didn't know David was charged?). Someone else suggests that giving previous names is an essential part of safeguarding but apparently, you can't ask people for dead names! Have they not really considered the implications of that?

May I suggest everone clicks on the Mail link a few times, and perhaps leaves a comment? It's the best way to keep it displayed.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6100645/Green-Party-star-quits-hiring-father-despite-knowing-stand-trial-rape.html

Also, can anyone remember who/where the link between AC and DC was first made when the verdict and sentence was reported? Was it on here or Twitter?

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 27/08/2018 08:56

CaitlynsCat

Those tweets are really quite sad. I can imagine that it must have wonderful to get such sudden unquestioning enthusiasm and encouragement. As Ashton, they would probably have been just another kid in care from a dysfunctional family and facing all the struggles and prejudice that entailed. Aimee got validation and support from everyone. It's very damming reflection of society's current attitudes.

CesiraAndEnrico · 27/08/2018 08:57

Why is Aimee seen as a 'rising star' in the Greens and how has Aimee managed to gather so much power and position so quickly?

IMO. because ... trans.

That gave a foothold via a well funded, established cabal for media exposure that was very much "punching well above weight".

Which in turn raised her profile in the party. They may have run with it, or at least not discouraged it because they thought all publicity is good publicity and especially so if Super Woke,

It snowballed to more MSM exposure. The party rewarded AC with essentially unearned power/position to capitalise on the publicity generated. Which led to more MSM attention. And a higher than ever profile in the party.

And I'll lay money on AC not being the only young Woke Points being in that position for the same reasons. Not just in the Greens. And not just the obvious ones in Labour.

There are a lot of chickens coming home to roost in the not so distant future. All parties should take a long hard look at this dynamic and reassess their knee jerk reaction to a representative with Opression Olympics Ommph. Because instead of looking at them like a gift from the gods, they really should be regarding them as a box going suspiciously "tick tick tick".

You need people with convictions, hard won experience, life lessons learned in advance, loyalty to both party and country, and the ability to step back and shut the fuck up when it is the interests of your party/country to do so.

Even then you can get explosions. Cos... humans screw up.

But if the above list of attributes isn't applied to everybody, bar the truely expectional (in ability, not identity), politics is going to go even further down the tubes.

How is a party (of any stripe) supposed to genuinely represent the people when it takes such a Reality TV approach to selecting higher profile representatives for the people ?

Idiots. Do they think we are so stupid that we can't work out that if they can't run their own party effectively, efficiently, to a high standard, then there is no hope whatsoever that they can run the country..... other than into the ground.

BlytheByName · 27/08/2018 08:58

I saw it here. But Pilgrim Tucker picked up on it very quickly too.
But I'm sure it was a mumsnetter.
However whoever challenged the gagging order (Coventry local / journalist ) had made a link.

optimusprimesmother · 27/08/2018 09:01

I find it disturbing the amount of names they are going through. It’s like Aimee is constantly trying to reinvent themselves.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 27/08/2018 09:02

Who wouldn't in their situation...

Floisme · 27/08/2018 09:03

A few of my questions:

When the Green Party say they didn't know about this until Challenor was sentenced, what exactly do they mean? Do they seriously mean nobody in the party knew? Or just that no-one had officially informed Lucas / Bartley? If it's the second, who did know?
Why did it take them so long to put out that statement?

What was the extent of David Challenor's influence within the Green Party? They're a relatively small party so I imagine volunteers could carry a big workload / responsibility.
How much input did David have into their LBGTQIA+ policy?
Has David been involved in the training of young party members?
Has David been involved in the training of outside organisations?
Who did David work with within the party? Who else is in the network?

Did Aimee Challenor seek advice from anyone in the Green Party when David was charged? Was Aimee advised not to say anything? Who by?

What training has Aimee carried out, both within the Green Party and with outside organisations?

What the fuck is going on at the BBC, Guardian and Daily Telegraph?

Punctuation was all over the shop there, hopefully you get the gist.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/08/2018 09:11

CesiraAndEnrico thank you Blush Grin

CaitlynsCat · 27/08/2018 09:15

Not sure where 'Challenor' comes from. Presumably this is David's mother:

Kind of weird to name your children A, B and C.

OrchidInTheSun · 27/08/2018 09:19

Aimee and David Challenor took out a vexatious injunction against Andy Healey. Aimee got him suspended from the Party for 8 months. Aimee has still not been suspended.

Bore

More a case of us thanking you. Superb, clear, precise, complete, concise (you jammy wotnot, being able to do all that, all at the same time) analysis.

That should be screenshot, or c&p and sent out (sans username) into the SM-O-Sphere. And encouraged to reproduce with a million baby "hello world, here's reality" posts that were inspired by the one above.

Ladies, we have our Most Valuable Post of the Thread. It's a killer KO monster despite its sleek form. So SM crew that survived the cull, can we run with this one asap please !

If Bore is Ok with that. Cos it's not like I forgot to ask her in advance when I snapped into military mode or anything. Perish the thought.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/08/2018 09:20

Could have remarried?
