You should be able to listen again here. 9am. There's a discussion going on now.

Talking about the penis stickers, and single sex spaces.

The trans-activist they on says that we should make space for all kinds of women: including "angry" women.

Yes, now there are women, angry women and trans women.

Could someone please tell me where I can find my odd looking testicles as I want to scratch them? TIA.

HerFemaleness · 21/08/2018 17:11

Oh dear, somebody is not happy in Twitterland...

Has now deleted the tweet and is blaming women for making h** say mean things.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 21/08/2018 17:12

Was it the nasty angry women what made him done it? Awwww the poor wee wean...

HerFemaleness · 21/08/2018 17:14

1st rule of misogyny

(getting in there before thebewilderness)

placemats · 21/08/2018 17:14

True Floral

Will they have ownership of the banking account though?

I'm guessing in years to come the typical post on mumsnet will be 'he's a great dad and orders all the food for the house so I don't have to'

FloralBunting · 21/08/2018 17:24

Lovely Tweety InstagramFilterHair person is a real charmer, aren't they? The misogyny just slipped out because Julia Long reminded them of another woman they hated for saying no to them. It can happen so easily to anyone who is provoked and hates women's guts.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/08/2018 17:25

She has spent the rest of the day randomly saying "Human noses are in the centre of the face" and "Fish don't wear wigs".

Grinreminiscent of the classic line about fish and bicycles

arranfan · 21/08/2018 17:31

hackmum wrote I'm interested in the fact that the aggression, the extreme hate and use of misogynistic abuse appear to be a deliberate tactic

Yes. Alongside the parallels with the origins of fascism (which continues to gnaw away at me) I'm troubled by the cognitive dissonance of those who have no difficulty in 'calling people out' for cultural appropriation of (say) a foodstuff but have no troubling thought as to their similar cultural appropriation in other areas.

It's all very messed up in my head with democide.
The objectives of democide include the disintegration of the political and social institutions of culture, language, national feelings, religion, and the economic existence of national groups; the destruction of the personal security, liberty, health, dignity; and even the lives of the individuals belonging to such groups.

Because, with some of the incursions into women/children's safe spaces, educational opportunities, access to health services etc. - it does feel as if we are in danger of finding ourselves 'inadvertently' legislated into the removal/erosion of our "personal security, liberty, health, dignity" etc.

BigTwit · 21/08/2018 17:48

I’m not on twitter but read it all. I’m dying to read a response to ‘Elll’ that says “Imagine being a man and thinking that you are better equipped to define woman that “literal” women.” I’ll join up if necessary. Thank you all, wonderful, erudite women. Many of us are quietly reading, and quietly acting.

It was reminding nellie of nellies ex wife which is why he got angry and called Julia a bitch.

No idea why the ex wife is an ex, none at all. Nellie sounds charming.

VickyEadie · 21/08/2018 17:57

Nellie: "Why do Bigots all sound the same?"

Oh, the mountain of irony in those seven words...

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 21/08/2018 18:02

Can someone reply and say, "I don't know, but now you mention it... do they give you a style guide at TRA camp?"

terryleather · 21/08/2018 18:02

The AGP with added narc is strong in that one...hope the ex wife has found her way to MN and the trans widows thread.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 21/08/2018 18:36

Well that makes it all clear what the link is between TRAs and MRAs. ..

"My ex wife is a bitch"

Diddums of the world unite..

AsAProfessionalFekko · 21/08/2018 18:42

So it's all the ex wife's fault? Ohhh.

busyboysmum · 21/08/2018 18:51

That was a cheering listen.

These TW always sound like men don't they when interviewed?

I'm not surprised Julia though "he" was the appropriate pronoun.

OrchidInTheSun · 21/08/2018 18:56

Michael, Ray Blanchard and the transwidow escape committee are all in accord.

Wanderabout · 21/08/2018 19:22

This was excellent radio. Thank you Julia.

Wanderabout · 21/08/2018 19:23

Also thank you #stickerwoman

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 21/08/2018 19:34

"Baffled to learn that the 'types' of women are

  1. Lesbians
  2. Angry women
  3. Men"

Yeah. I think you literally just denied my right to exist Vicki. You fucking bigot.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 21/08/2018 19:42

Oh no, hang on Vicki, you got me to 2. Maybe Vicki is only aware of angry women because of Vicki's unique ability to arouse that emotion wherever Vicki goes?

tiredandweary · 21/08/2018 19:51

Thank you Julia Long. Brilliant interview.

There's also ManFriday - they come over very well and Stephanie Davies-Arai all of whom I've heard interview articulately and well.

At times this seems like a mountain to climb (especially given all the resources that TRAs have behind them). But there is definitely a greater awareness and growing public anger at the outrageous demands and the seedy background of many TRAs.

pombear · 21/08/2018 19:52

I'm just going to post something I put on the fragrant Jess Bradley thread the other day, as I feel Vicky has added themselves to my list:-

I'm finding it intriuging the ever-growing link between some trans activisim personas, their very public 'activism', and their very public and eagerly-made links to their professed sexual activities.

I'm not implying that all transactivists are in this bracket, but week by week, more and more links come together. (Oh, and they seem only to be transwomen, not transmen on my list - funny that!)

For example:
Jess Bradley ,and their alleged enthusiasm for getting the penis out in public.

Tara Hewitt, and their publicly documented passion for BDSM, pet play and swinging. (Whilst also in their day job educating NHS professionals about trans-issues, reminding all those NHS workers that 'trans' includes men who get a sexual kick out of dressing in women's clothes.)

Zoe O'Connell, LibDem activist, and their polyamorous relationship.

Jane Fae, seemingly the BBC's 'go-to' spokesperson for all-things trans, and their championing of extreme porn and bemoaning the reduced ability to view cartoon CSA images, cos 'it's not fair' otherwise. (Let's not even go there about 'eggshell skulls' and all that).

Juno Dawson's eagerness to write about teenage girls' 'sex-positiveness' (despite not growing up as a teenage girl)

Zinnia Jones, who's promoting off-label drugs to support all those trans-kids whose parents and medical team don't give them 'what they want', whilst monetarising a side-line in trans-porn - often featuring their penis.

Vicky Lee welcome to my list! Vicky's outlines their experiences of wanking whilst dressing in women's clothes, and their ongoing, 'triggering' 'deep need' to share female experiences. But happy to go on national radio to explain why females should accept transwomen as a subset of women.

It's fascinating just how many trans rights activists are so vocal at the same time about their sexual lives.

In contrast to most of the gender critical voices on the internet. I couldn't tell you most of the sexual activities that GC activists like, other than some women's sexual orientation. Strange, isn't it?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 21/08/2018 20:04

Can't we include bonkers'women' to the list then?

Wanderabout · 21/08/2018 20:05

Agree. Lucy Masoud was also excellent when she appeared on radio.

Kathleen Stock is very articulate and comes across well on air.

Sarah Ditum is really articulate although a slightly different booking being a journalist.
