Laura Huteson death: Hull man killed woman in 'bizarre' sex game www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-45140580

How often hetersexual men die during “risky” sex games because I can’t think of one case from the news? I know that sadly happens in same sex couples/ participants (can think of a couple examples from the news) but in hetero? It seems it tends to be women who love being throttled, punched, tied up, brutalised.

What does it mean he did not intend that to happen. What did he think would happen.

We say it over and over again; strangulation is never safe. There is always a risk of death, every time.

(Its also been used in the past by men who get away with murder, so it is never safe with a stranger.)

53rdWay · 10/08/2018 15:45

How do you accidentally stab someone in the neck during sex?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/08/2018 15:51

He kept the knife under his pillow for such occassion. You could say that is premeditating something.

theOtherPamAyres · 10/08/2018 15:52

It is a cynical defence, nothing more.

We are to infer that the woman consented. He may go as far to say that she initiated the incident, or encouraged it, that she was experienced and knew what she was doing. We are meant to empathise with the poor man who wouldn't have been in this position if she'd only been more responsible.

Dead women can't speak.

TwistedStitch · 10/08/2018 15:53

So really if you want to strangle a woman to death or cut her throat, just make sure you do it in the bedroom and claim it was sex gone wrong and you'll probably get away with murder.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/08/2018 15:53

So if someone asks me to punch them, I oblige, they die, then I’m not responsible.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/08/2018 15:55

Crankly saying I feel offended by his teary mugshot. How dare he.

Nuffaluff · 10/08/2018 15:58

The judge said it was consensual. How the hell do they know she consented to having a knife held against her neck?
Surely the judge isn’t just taking this guy’s word for it.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/08/2018 16:00

I should have said “is offensive”. My feelings are neither here or there. It’s offensive to her and her family.

Yes, what exactly did she consent to.

ReevaDiva · 10/08/2018 16:01

There was an odd thread here a while back, where the OP posted about strangulation during sex, asking how any woman could want to be part of it, and tons of people replied, really quite offended, saying don't knock it until you've tried it, and saying the rest of us were obviously too vanilla to get it. Confused

In this instance, I struggle to believe that, having met only that day, they had a relationship of trust and had discussed this beforehand.

ChattyLion · 10/08/2018 16:02

This guy gets only SIX years for that???
Are you fucking kidding?

He admitted he knifed a young woman in the neck during sex. With a special knife he kept under the pillow for that purpose.
How would that knife NOT be expected to kill her?
How is her death not premeditated killing when she was killed with his knife kept for that exact purpose?

What the hell are they thinking on the sentencing on this.. it’s like they are saying she had agreed to the sex so she has literally made her bed now and everything else was fair game too?

Nobody can legally give consent for another person to KILL them. I can’t understand how the consenting to sex situation is in any way relevant here.

That poor girl Flowers

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/08/2018 16:05

Yes Reeva I remeber that thread too. I wonder if on Piston heads or whatever that forum is called, blokes are falling over themselves to testify how they looove being strungled during sex.

OP posts:
NameChangedAgain18 · 10/08/2018 16:10

Women should all just stop consenting to sex, full stop. I mean, the inference is clearly, according to the law, that if we consent to sex, we also consent to being throttled or stabbed. The way the incident is described is very troubling. The “knife passed through the skin”, apparently. Knives don’t just “pass” through skin and flesh.

ReevaDiva · 10/08/2018 16:11

It's the Caitlin Moran thing isn't it? If the men aren't doing it, let's question why women are expected to...

Also saw someone on here earlier saying porn is the theory, rape is the practice, and that feels pertinent here too.

Melamin · 10/08/2018 16:11
Confused
ppeatfruit · 10/08/2018 16:16

Didn't rockstar Micheal Hutchence strangle himself in some bizarre sexual practice? men do die doing stuff like that, hetero and homosexual.

IDontEatFriedTurtle · 10/08/2018 16:19

Can they please stop calling murderer "sex games"

JessicaJonesJacket · 10/08/2018 16:21

ppeat the OP is referring to when someone is killed during a sex game by another person. Michael Hutchence was alone. It has no bearing on what the OP is discussing.

JessicaJonesJacket · 10/08/2018 16:22

IDont cross-posted and you're right. I shouldn't have called it a 'sex game'.

ScrambledSmegs · 10/08/2018 16:25

Michael Hutchence killed himself whilst depressed and under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He wasn’t practising autoerotic asphyxiation, according to the coroner who had apparently considered that explanation and dismissed it. The evidence did not support Paula Yates’ theory.

Tartyflette · 10/08/2018 16:25

Actually, I believe some men have been convicted of killing other men using the "sex-game gone wrong" defence but probably the same applied there -- we don't know if the other party really consented or not. Might go down as manslaughter or murder.
(There was even a case in Germany a few years ago where a man met up with another man for the express purpose of being killed and eaten by the other man. Which he duly was. Nowt so queer as folk, eh? )
However, this defence is far more commonly used by men on trial for murdering women. We know why.

ToadOfSadness · 10/08/2018 16:26

I thought Hutchence accidentally suffocated himself while getting the high that comes with lack of air. (I could be wrong though).

TwistedStitch · 10/08/2018 16:27

If somebody used a knife to sever their own jugular and carotid artery we would call it suicide and a pretty violent, definite one at that. But doing it to someone else isn't murder?

ScrambledSmegs · 10/08/2018 16:28

This man is/was probably crying for himself. It’s not a ‘sex game’, it’s murder.

But hey, it’s only a woman and the press (and lets face it, the old boys’ network who run our legal system) don’t give a shit about women. So, 6 years, out in 3, hooray for British justice Hmm
