Why are femnists such doormats?

Firstly, please excuse the clickbait title.

I was wondering if anybody else shared my personal experience in that the most vocal feminists I've known have been treated like shit by men. Not before they became feminists but during and throughout their feminism.

I've lost count of the amount of women for whom the personal is definitely not political. I can hardly speak myself. If I had to describe my type it would be 'secret dickhead type.'

Are feminists more prone to dickhead type men or are we just more aware of the dickhead behavior of our men? Is it causal?

Do feminists love bastards?

The upside is that penis is such a low value item and there is such a market glut, there's no harm in being a bit discerning about them.

Never have truer words been spoken! Penis is cheap (free for the asking, in fact) and readily available, so no need to worry to much about telling particular penis owners to piss off. Another one will be along shortly.

BeyondRadicalisationPortal · 16/07/2018 09:42

Personally, I had a lifetime of crap man experience, and thought I'd found a good one. One who was (is?) "a feminist ally" but who made quite a few crap decisions (like sexting younger women for eg...), and I tried to forgive the multiple crap decisions, til it all got too much.

I thought the small transgressions were better than the bigger ones, when in truth they wore me down and fucked my mental health.

LangCleg · 16/07/2018 09:55

I wonder if picking men according to principles of "good politics" rather than "good person" is a thing?

AngryAttackKittens · 16/07/2018 10:00

If it is I'd advise against it given some of the pro sex industry, woman hating nonsense I've seen men on the left come out with.

Cackling at the thought of a glut of penis.

Almost spilled my coffee.

AnyFucker · 16/07/2018 10:54

Gawd save us from lefty men, for sure

Also men who describe themselves as "feminists" in my experience have been anything but. They trot out their lady loving credentials with the single purpose of getting into pants then you realise they hate women as much as the next penis man

CocoFlannel9 · 16/07/2018 11:02

Wow, wonder if you'd all be ok with men referring to women as "vaginas". Confused

Personally, I think strong feminism puts off a lot of men (a bit like 'in your face' veganism) so you're more likely to be left with the desperate and dregs (and also the smaller proportion of male feminists/non-masculine men who tend not to be arseholes).

Grin So true. But herein lies the problem. Penises are everywhere and they are always trying to find new ways to give themselves the edge, to stand out from the crowd and across the path of women. This is why they go to such lengths to erode our boundaries against them. Sticking on a frock and a bit of eyeliner is a great way to get past gullible women's defenses.

LangCleg · 16/07/2018 11:19

LOL! Unfuckable, right?! I did say that already.

I'm going to ask the DH whether he'd prefer to be referred to as the resident penis or the desperate dreg.

Will report back!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/07/2018 11:21

There are plenty of genuinely good men who aren't put off by 'strong feminists' - they're the cream not the dregs.

CocoFlannel9 · 16/07/2018 11:28

That's why I mentioned the bit in brackets about feminism-friendly men as well. I've met a lot of non-feminist men and women and most of them are decent people who just aren't very interested in identity. Nowt wrong with female empowerment etc but there are some real man hating bulldogs about too and most normal people shy from these types I find.

CocoFlannel9 · 16/07/2018 11:29

identity politics that should've been

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 16/07/2018 11:31

Ime men are pretty desperate to drop their penises into the convo they'd probably be flattered to be called it outright.

Men do often refer to women as a group as 'fanny' etc. Eg- classy bit of fanny(or whatever euphemism for vagina) you got there.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 16/07/2018 11:34

Why is it that I never meet such fine women unless I am attending specific feminist events? I don't ever meet combative feminist women unless I am actively out looking for them.

LangCleg · 16/07/2018 11:44

DH: I feel Resident Phallus is a more impressive title.

Me: Don't push it or we'll revert to Dicksplash.

(We have radio silence now. I think he is searching for a meme.)

AngryAttackKittens · 16/07/2018 11:49

Mine suggested "the chosen one".

CocoFlannel9 · 16/07/2018 11:59

Maybe you only need to look in the mirror, Clarice. Grin

LangCleg · 16/07/2018 12:03

Charming.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 16/07/2018 12:15

Oh tuck your penis back in coco

DJLippy · 16/07/2018 12:37

What about House Cock?

OP posts:
AngryAttackKittens · 16/07/2018 12:49

Our new friend seems to think that any penis haver in our vicinity would be The Only Cock In The Village.

CocoFlannel9 · 16/07/2018 12:51

Jeez, I was jesting. I do think though that there is a point at which activism becomes a bit unhinged. And don't get me started on people who post disfigured animals on their FB wall! My niece happened to see one such post after walking up behind me whilst I was checking my feed, and I think it really shocked her.

LaSquirrel · 16/07/2018 12:51

Grin I want that on a t-shirt Lang!

CocoFlannel9 · 16/07/2018 12:53

It definitely does put off men though (although I'm sure most of you wouldn't want to date a man who was put off by feminism).
