I’m not a transphobe, my partner is “gender fluid” but that’s a load of shite. “Because we lack one symptom”. Yeah the one that means you’re having a period! Grin

Anyway that post is just out to start threads like this. Reacting to it basically validates it in their minds I’m sure.

OrchidInTheSun · 13/07/2018 19:00

I like the way the 'periods' happen on the same date every month. Like no period cycle ever

I'm still at the angry stage I'm afraid.

Happy to be open and say I don't know anything about HRT but I don't think it replaces anything cyclically, instead it just replaces hormones through an even and consistent dose?

I can almost just roll my eyes at the biological impossibility of this, but the tone of the post is really upsetting. I wasn't sure I'd actually seen the hate towards us, but it's very much there. They want to be us, and they hate us.

I just don't understand.

TheFemaleGaze · 13/07/2018 19:01

I have an implant. I still bleed every month, twice some months because of the medication I take. But I never know when... But hey, the 10th of every month...

They are welcome to my junky uterus with the massive fibroid in the lining that I've had for, oh, going on twenty years now...

Ballshit

ballsballsballs · 13/07/2018 19:04

Nonsense on stilts.

DuggeesWoggle · 13/07/2018 19:05

BettyDuMonde any chance you could link to the Twitter thread?

Always good to see when an actual health professional talks sense on these matters.

Potplant2 · 13/07/2018 19:05

I’m curled up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself because my period has just started and I’ve got awful cramps.

Tomorrow I’ll need to be at work for 10-12 hours so I’ll be using super plus tampax, night pads, and waterproof period pants, all together as I’m not sure when I’ll get loo breaks and day 2 is always very heavy. Just in case, I’ll also be wearing black trousers.

But bleeding is incidental to the experience of having a period. Obviously.

Yeah righto Hmm

Gaslighting deluded fool.

HemanOrSheRa · 13/07/2018 19:10

ALL THE OTHER STUFF THAT CRAMPS ON YOUR PERIOD. Confused. What?! Good fucking grief. What a load of old guff.

I wonder what will happen when these young transwomen hit perimenopause?

SchrodingersMeowth · 13/07/2018 19:10

orchid Mines used to always fall on the 1st of each month, in the evening, like weird fucking clockwork. I pretty much never get one now though, despite no hormonal contraception and being 27.

I still get the damn pms though and cramps but I’d never call that a period, because it’s not.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 13/07/2018 19:14

@Potplant2 Just identify as a unicorn hun, I don’t think they get periods 🦄✨🌟⭐️

noeffingidea · 13/07/2018 19:15

Just pure stupidity.
Thats basically why I can never take this shit too seriously. I can't forget everything I've learnt since I was about 10.

Some people have imaginary friends too, though they've usually grown out of it by the age that person appears to be.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 13/07/2018 19:17

Whoever said that they hate us but want to be us is right. Scarily, the first thing to come into my mind was the character of Jame Gumb from Silence of the Lambs. GrinShock

ErrolTheDragon · 13/07/2018 19:19

Haven't RTFT but...
'ppl have such a hard time understanding that other parts of the body besides the uterus are involved in period cramping'

Thinking back, I simply wouldn't have noticed if any other part of my body was cramping because the pain from my uterus was so completely overwhelming. The only thing it's remotely like, IMO, is labour. In some ways worse because the dysmenorrhea was continuous, at least labour contractions had breaks.

Why does that person - oozing contempt for women - have such a hard time understanding that unless you're a female you have no bloody clue what having a period is like.

zen1 · 13/07/2018 19:20

Delusional

Floorplan · 13/07/2018 19:25

I wonder where the word period came from. Oh yes, periodic bleeding. Get real you ridiculous wannabees.

Floorplan · 13/07/2018 19:27

Another point is that periods are rare if you are living as a cavewoman. I had next to no bleeding during my 15 year stretch as a breastfeeding mother of 4.

Floorplan · 13/07/2018 19:28

Lochia obv

waterlego6064 · 13/07/2018 19:29

Oh FFS, that is utterly ridiculous. Are we sure it’s not satire? Oh, I wish it was 😔

All the symptoms except...symptom?!

How is the bleeding a symptom of a period? The bleeding is literally a period.

Erm, no it's not.
