avoid not voice!

Uterine cells in females with a uterus can attach onto the bowel for example and cause bleeding into the body. My guess is they are trying to appropriately this.

ReevaDiva · 13/07/2018 18:07

Think they'd have some volunteers Wink

UglyCathKidstonBag · 13/07/2018 18:08

The “apart from one symptom” (bleeding), “it’s the same” trope is one of the most stupid things I have ever read.

When I was in labour with my second DC, my DH had really bad trapped wind. If he had tried to tell me it was the same as labour “apart from one symptom” (the baby) I’d have knocked his teeth into another postcode.

LookTwoFingers · 13/07/2018 18:08

to ensure they have the full womanly experience they will no doubt be clamouring for their GP/local clinic to insert a coil via their female penis as soon as possible.

These kinds of thing used to make me angry, it's offensive and it's appropriation.

Now I just think, carry on talking, the more people see this the better.

Amalfimamma · 13/07/2018 18:09

Ah for fucks sakes

UglyCathKidstonBag · 13/07/2018 18:09

This needs a wider audience.

FurryGiraffe · 13/07/2018 18:11

I thought it was refreshingly honest, myself.

I absolutely love how much trans girls talking about the reality of their periods pisses transphobes off. It makes you feel so powerful!

All about power. Over women.

FloralBunting · 13/07/2018 18:12

My period cramps radiate out from my uterus all down my thighs, the same as the cramping I had in labour.
This only happens because I have an actual powerful uterine muscle to originate the cramping in the first place. I don't get random big toe cramps because of my period. What an odd appropriation.

I did enjoy the idea of 'everything but the blood', though. Because that's just such an inconsequential after thought for a woman on a period...

NoNotheresnolyrics · 13/07/2018 18:14

I hope they’re getting regular smears done

gorgeoushazydaysofsummer · 13/07/2018 18:15

Kinda flabbergasted that (cis) ppl have such a hard time understanding that other parts of the body besides the uterus are involved in period cramping. Yes, we are aware that the cramps we get are not our uteruses. They're just from ALL THE OTHER STUFF THAT CRAMPS ON YOUR PERIOD.

What other 'stuff' cramps when you have a period?????? Nothing. And nothing transwomen have, that's for sure.

Jesus.

Childrenofthestones · 13/07/2018 18:16

I presume it's psychological just like my uncle who lost his leg fighting in the jungle. He got pains in his nonexistent foot for years afterwards.
Having said that of course he originally had a foot and had all the nerves in his leg that ran to the original foot still in existence.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 13/07/2018 18:17

‘Trans girls’ - wtf?

Jaxhog · 13/07/2018 18:18

We're moving into the Twilight Zone! Dodo, doodoo, doodoo, doodoo, doodoo!

placemats · 13/07/2018 18:18

I no longer have periods because I went through the 'dreaded' menopause, which was fine actually, because I had it at the 'normal' time most women have it. Obviously there is an adjustment, but for some women this lasts for all of their 40s, luckily I lasted a year.

I despair at this nonsense. Men do not menstruate. It will never happen because they do not own a uterus. Some women have problems with menstruation and that is UNIQUELY a woman's problem.

Basically, this boils down to menstrual problems are all in our heads, our lady brains.

OY! Listen up mates! Try coping with a baby and toddler whilst on your period and breast feeding.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 13/07/2018 18:19

Some of the replies Shock

“I have endometriosis and it causes me agonising pain whenever I get periods (or when I don't its pretty much all the time). Periods absolutely ruined my life. Please don't disregard our struggles just because you get moody sometimes.

And no I'm not a transphobe before you start”

And in reply

“I understand that it's upsetting to see people celebrating a biological event that's been a source of suffering for you personally, but this post isn't directed at you or for you.

trans women have their own experience of hormonal cycling and should be allowed to talk about it-“

Patronising fuck.

placemats · 13/07/2018 18:20

Yes, the Twilight Zone.

PapaSmurfsSpareHat · 13/07/2018 18:21

Literally, no.

miri1985 · 13/07/2018 18:23

Nobody tell them about middleschmertz!

If this was a thing wouldn't post menopausal women on HRT have the same symptoms wouldn't it be a thing we'd all know about?

Googled it and for some reason the medical community seems to think period symptoms when you shouldn't have them are a cause for serious concern in women www.healthline.com/health/menopause/cramps-after-menopause#causes

Unexplained cramps are a cause for concern not something to be celebrated, I hope this trans woman gets better health care going forward especially if this isn't just imagined, there could be something seriously wrong!

3DSpex · 13/07/2018 18:24

I'm still at the angry stage, I'm afraid.

This is so fucking distasteful (putting it mildly).

BettyDuMonde · 13/07/2018 18:25

There was a great twitter thread from a doctor on this the other day.

Noqont · 13/07/2018 18:25

they will no doubt be clamouring for their GP/local clinic to insert a coil via their female penis as soon as possible.

Oh my goodness, we need to spread awareness. Although I'm sure they know the risk of getting pregnant now, with their new womanly bodies and lady dicks.

NotTerfNorCis · 13/07/2018 18:26

'Around the 10th' was a massive clue. It's psychosomatic, mate!
