Lesbians react to London Pride

Some very passionate responses from the lesbian community, since the anti-trans protests.

When Jennifer James pushed to sue the labour party, the result was the labour party clarified it's position as self-id for AWS

This has a similar ring to it, as the anti-trans protesters tried to co-opt the lesbian community, there has been a vocal backlash and clarification of support for trans people.

There's a hashtag to check out... twitter.com/hashtag/LWithTheT?src=hash

Well, pride stopped being about same sex attracted people a while back, it's about rainbows, glitter and unicorns now and mermaids

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 08/07/2018 20:20

When someone pipes up saying 'I'm a lesbian and I don't define lesbians as same-sex attracted females' it's kind of hard to know how seriously to take them as a representative of actual (same-sex attracted, female) lesbians

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 08/07/2018 20:22

Frankly daimbars, I couldn’t give one shiney shit if your pearl clutching corporate schmoozing rape culture supporting pride marchers are shocked and appalled. Good I say, they damn well should be shocked . I’m shocked that lesbians are being told to accept cock and this is being touted as super woke and progressive.

This is poetry. Smile

UglyCathKidstonBag · 08/07/2018 20:22

Being transgender is not 'being a culture' - that wouldn't make sense.

Also this! ^

It is hardly surprising so many are confused though considering the language gymnastics forced down throats over the last few years. If you change the meaning of loads of phrases and words then it makes sense that you’d be very confused about this.

Many, many women enforce rape culture. Look at the amount of women who said “you could have just walked away”, “it was the way you dressed” to women when #metoo was at its height.

This is continued support of male entitlement and violence and shows many to be complicit in theft of womanhood and rape. Wrong side of history?

daimbars · 08/07/2018 20:23

I understand rape culture to be normalising rape.

So you are accusing trans women of normalising rape.

Therefore you are accusing them of being rapists.

It's done the trans community a huge favour because they've gained a shed load of sympathy from high profile supporters and shone a light on the very darkest aspect of GC feminism.

MIdgebabe · 08/07/2018 20:24

I have read it twice. No where did it say all transpeople are rapists? Could someone please explain to me why what they said is hateful. It seems to me purely factual. I have tried reading it the other way around...replacing lesbians with men and trans with women and still don't see it

Please make it very simple for me: just pick one example. copy out the phrase or sentence that is hateful and perhaps also explain your interpretation.

Thanks

As I thought. Zero clue.

Go well daimbars, think you'll struggle to dig your way out of this little hole.

BeyondRaggydoll · 08/07/2018 20:26

"Normalising rape...therefore rapists"

Gosh that's... quite a leap you made there.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 08/07/2018 20:27

daim

Aren't you embarrassed about coming out with crap like that?

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 08/07/2018 20:27

Ah. NAMALT. Shame we've literally never dealt with that gobsmackingly original argument ever on FWR.

LeiaTheSlaya · 08/07/2018 20:27

The best bit?

It's in the fucking leaflets!

Definitions = smooth on the outside, crunchy on the inside.

Pratchet · 08/07/2018 20:28

They will use it though. They twist everything. It's like arguing with toddlers who then appeal to other toddlers for back up.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 08/07/2018 20:29

A new approach to logic:

Make three logically unrelated statements and put 'therefore' at the front of the last one.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 08/07/2018 20:30

“Rape culture is a sociological concept for a setting in which rape is pervasive and normalized due to societal attitudes about gender and sexuality.[1][2] Behaviors commonly associated with rape culture include victim blaming, slut-shaming, sexual objectification, trivializing rape, denial of widespread rape, refusing to acknowledge the harm caused by some forms of sexual violence, or some combination of these.“

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_culture

This might help because you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

Pratchet · 08/07/2018 20:31

It will definitely have traction. I know a lot of people who will think that it means you believe all men are actual rapists and unconvicted sex offenders.

This is a very very nasty PR moment for transactivists, so they have to take any crumbs they can find and flog them to death.

Pratchet · 08/07/2018 20:31

That wiki page will be edited before you can say knife.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 08/07/2018 20:32

Totally

Beachcomber · 08/07/2018 20:32

Daimbars.

The leaflet doesn't say what you says it does.

So maybe you should stop misrepresenting it (especially as you have posted an actual photo of it so we can all read it and see what it DOES say).

HTH

UglyCathKidstonBag · 08/07/2018 20:32

Daim, I think petal, you’re on an eternal wind up.

Pratchet · 08/07/2018 20:33

I can't download it.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 08/07/2018 20:34

Although it is depressing - the wiki edits by misogynists, it can be quite amusing reading the argy bargy implicit in the edit histories.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 08/07/2018 20:34

I’ve taken a screen shot

Pratchet · 08/07/2018 20:35

Can they get at the edit histories, covet?
