Lesbians react to London Pride

Some very passionate responses from the lesbian community, since the anti-trans protests.

When Jennifer James pushed to sue the labour party, the result was the labour party clarified it's position as self-id for AWS

This has a similar ring to it, as the anti-trans protesters tried to co-opt the lesbian community, there has been a vocal backlash and clarification of support for trans people.

There's a hashtag to check out... twitter.com/hashtag/LWithTheT?src=hash

Some good exposing today of the mental gymnastics or avoidance of logic that must take place to accept some of these TRA mantras.

And it's not the extremists it's the mainstream Trans organisations, insisting some penises are female. Some lesbians have a penis.
And women who disagree should STFU.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 09/07/2018 21:13

Question for @MNHQ do only gender critical posters get strikes with deleted posts?

Ereshkigal · 09/07/2018 21:13

Goodness. The harsh words were mine. Certain was saying that she understands your position as most of us have been there.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/07/2018 21:14

Must say that MNHQ are right on point tonight

vermillion isn't lasting long at all!

MIdgebabe · 09/07/2018 21:14

So we can identify as we like...Hey next time a bloke is out of line, I'll tell him identufy as male. That will stop him in his tracks....

littlbrowndog · 09/07/2018 21:14

Oh ffs not the literal insult stuff

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 21:15

Same here but for sharing my experience with attempts at corrective rape which were laughed at.

That's awful, but it wasn't me. I would never do that. If people are making your internet experience a non safe space, please report them, or ask someone you trust to do some, and ensure you take some time to focus on your own mental wellness. I'm sorry you went through that.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/07/2018 21:15

erish

Oh i wondered what i had missed there

lgbt grabbed the olive branch right out of certains hand and smacked her round the head with it!

No, this was earlier in the thread. It's fine, I reported it to MN and it's been deleted. I'd just rather not align with someone who thinks it's okay to insult women for having a view different to their own.

Ereshkigal · 09/07/2018 21:17

If people are making your internet experience a non safe space, please report them,

She's calling out a coercive tendency in a particular community which you are determined to deny all existence of. And just as you don't take it seriously, no one else does either.

So why arent the women who protested this kind of thing allowed to do so? Why aren’t they allowed to object to it in front of their largest possible audience?

SophoclesTheFox · 09/07/2018 21:18

It’s interesting how so many people are happy to out themselves as homophobes with their posts on here and actions the wider world.

Isn't it? All the while with wide eyed "but I couldn't POSSIBLY be lesbophobic!"

If you think there's anything wrong or "problematic" with the statement "a lesbian is a female homosexual", or if you think it's in any way conditional, or that there are right and wrong times to say it, then I'm calling it now: you are expressing homophobia. No more, no less.

Ereshkigal · 09/07/2018 21:18

This, in mile high rainbow neon letters.

UglyCathKidstonBag · 09/07/2018 21:18

I’d rather not align with women who are homophobes and prop up rape culture.

I don't believe one marginalized group has the right to spread unsubstantiated claims about another marginalized group under the umbrella of protest. I believe that individual instances of bullying, assault and harassment should be dealt with on a case by case basis when it comes to tackling abusers claiming protection from a marginalized group.

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 21:23

I absolutely take the rights of survivors seriously. Please don't put words into my mouth.

LangCleg · 09/07/2018 21:24

oi oi HQ! Come collect your people! Rearguard action required!

All the LOLs.

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 21:25

Can I ask what HQ is?

How do you define "substantiated"?

And doesn't that also apply to the TRAs and all the shitty lies they tell unsubstantiated claims they make about gender critical feminists? Like the ones you believe?

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 09/07/2018 21:26

thats the thing isn't it. By the standards I have taken for granted my whole life it's so unacceptable to tell lesbians that they should 'consider' sex with penis owners that I find it really very difficult to believe that anybody glossing over this can be posting in good faith.

Sarahconnor1 · 09/07/2018 21:26

LGBTQIA

You keep using the word unsubstantiated, why don't you believe what other women are telling you? Why are you so keen to ignore their experience?

Ereshkigal · 09/07/2018 21:28

Learn to read. "It" in my sentence is the existence of a coercive tendency to pressure lesbian women to accept penis, as its transphobic to reject MTF trans people if you are attracted to women.

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 21:29

Well, the leaflet the protesters handed out said that there were many transgender people in the queer community using coercive methods to get non consenting lesbians to sleep with them - I'd like that to be substantiated, for example.

What is it you think I believe?
