Lesbians react to London Pride

Some very passionate responses from the lesbian community, since the anti-trans protests.

When Jennifer James pushed to sue the labour party, the result was the labour party clarified it's position as self-id for AWS

This has a similar ring to it, as the anti-trans protesters tried to co-opt the lesbian community, there has been a vocal backlash and clarification of support for trans people.

So Pride is now pride in anything, for anyone who feels marginalised?

Gosh.

That'll be the death knell for Pride then. As the floats expand to include all women, all and any disabilities, all and any racial groups etc etc.

So Pride now means nothing? It's not about sexuality anymore then?

Let's see what happens when words no longer mean anything and are meant to mean everything. I bet that will work really well for everyone.

So you are of the opinion that a lesbian is not female homosexual?

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 15:21

Being a lesbian is not a prejudice. Try again.

Absolutely not. All the lesbians I know are wonderful, generous people, and intersectionality-minded. They don't spread lies and propaganda about transgender people. It's just unfortunate that a prominent branch within the community does.

LangCleg · 09/07/2018 15:21

Aside from my undying love for littlebrowndog, can I also say how wonderful it is to see Datun gloriously arse-handing again. You, woman, are a goddess, and we missed you during your quiet spell.

Ereshkigal · 09/07/2018 15:22

Daim, your posts are articulate and represent the majority.

Datun · 09/07/2018 15:23

LGBTQIA

Just for the avoidance of doubt, you believe a lesbian IS a female homosexual?

littlbrowndog · 09/07/2018 15:23

Unsavoury !!

BeyondRaggydoll · 09/07/2018 15:23

Eresh, I wonder which definitions of "articulate" and "majority" that includes...?

daimbars · 09/07/2018 15:24

Oi oi is funny but Rufus accidentally talking about fucking lesbians isn't?!

Strange sense of humour you lot have.

Good to see some lurkers popping up to say hello!

justabout2016 · 09/07/2018 15:24

"Absolutely losing it here. Seriously. Crying"

@datum

I aim to please :)

BabyItsAWildWorld · 09/07/2018 15:26

Lesbian = female homosexual is inflammatory and insulting towards trans women.

Yep the truth at the heart of this.

The actual existence of homosexual females is insulting to Trans women (who are male), so we must pretend they do not exist, or not name or mention them, or redefine them in a way which erases them but includes some men.

And this is OK with some homosexual females?? Why? For the love of God, Why??

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 15:26

Just for the avoidance of doubt, you believe a lesbian IS a female homosexual?

Oh, undoubtedly. And I believe that a female homosexual can be someone who was born biologically female, and someone who was not. Ergo both can be a lesbian.

Any other questions?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 09/07/2018 15:27

Rufus accidentally talking

It wasnt an accident

Nothing i post is an accident (apart from typos)

I typed it...read it....and thought 'thats funny'

And i kept it...its the way i roll Grin

LangCleg · 09/07/2018 15:27

intersectionality-minded

Yes, dear. We know the so woke their brains have fallen out have also redefined intersectionality despite the express intention of the framework's author otherwise. Is there a single term left for those of us with navels we forget to gaze at to use with clarity? I ask myself this often. Answer came there none.

Clue 1: it's not about identity politics.

Clue 2: it is about class analysis, patriarchy, white supremacy and classism

Clue 3: there is no intersection with penis

BabyItsAWildWorld · 09/07/2018 15:29

Daim is there a reason you are ignoring my question?:

What do you think about lesbians setting up female only groups?

daimbars · 09/07/2018 15:30

Baby apologies must have missed it. It's fine, in fact I'm in a few lesbian groups myself.

BabyItsAWildWorld · 09/07/2018 15:32

Just for the avoidance of doubt, you believe a lesbian IS a female homosexual?

Oh, undoubtedly. And I believe that a female homosexual can be someone who was born biologically female, and someone who was not. Ergo both can be a lesbian.

Any other questions?

Yes.

Do some females have a penis?
Do some lesbians have a penis?
Are lesbians who reject partners because they have a penis transphobic?

Just asking for the lurkers...

YourMajestyJ · 09/07/2018 15:32

Why - because I disagree with you, therefore it can't be real?

No, because you're lying.

Datun · 09/07/2018 15:32

Oh, undoubtedly. And I believe that a female homosexual can be someone who was born biologically female, and someone who was not. Ergo both can be a lesbian.

Always good to know when someone disapproves, with unashamed homophobia, of equality law.

Baby apologies must have missed it. It's fine, in fact I'm in a few lesbian groups myself.

I asked specifically about female only groups Daim. You know that and You've avoided it again.

Just to be clear:I'm asking about groups which exclude lesbian's who have a penis> what do you think about those groups?

YourMajestyJ · 09/07/2018 15:35

Absolutely not. All the lesbians I know are wonderful, generous people, and intersectionality-minded. They don't spread lies and propaganda about transgender people. It's just unfortunate that a prominent branch within the community does.

Lesbian sexual orientation doesn't intersect with dick.

littlbrowndog · 09/07/2018 15:36

U don’t get out enough then lgtbqui

LGBTQIA · 09/07/2018 15:36

Always good to know when someone disapproves, with unashamed homophobia, of equality law.

I am definitely not homophobic, but if you want to ask me any other questions, I'd be happy to clarify further. There is no equality law to state that a lesbian needs to have been biologically female at birth.

YourMajestyJ · 09/07/2018 15:37

Oh, undoubtedly. And I believe that a female homosexual can be someone who was born biologically female, and someone who was not. Ergo both can be a lesbian.

Any other questions?

What caused you to miss all of your biology lessons at school?
