Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

In reaction to the Government sex segregation Petition response, M&S are finally reconsidering their position on their sexist unsafe and undignified policy.

I have had several discussions with M&S who were very much digging their heels in and putting male feelings ahead of sex segregation exemptions in the EA2010. I had another discussion with them today and they are finally looking at their policy again.

Please take action and message them your feminist concerns.

Including links to a trans woman who admitted to throwing clothes in an aggressive act, at female staff in a woman's changing room.

Joss Prior is saying this tonight. So JP asked them and the confirmed identity. So any bloke that fancies it.

Thanks again to @marksandspencer for clarifying their position!
Trans customers are protected by the equality act, and thus allowed to use the facilities that match their gender.

To reiterate, proposed GRA reforms do not affect sex-segregated spaces.

vicviking · 06/06/2018 21:21

Fox I think you are reading a different document to what you posted.

thebewilderness · 06/06/2018 21:21

*@FoxOnSecurity *

On the internet no one knows you are a potato.

BarrackerBarmer · 06/06/2018 21:22

It doesn't no, if any of them points are proven then it's rape, but its comes down to evendance so much more likely charged as sexual assault and so on

What language is this?

Please, stop, I'm begging you.
This is taking all my restraint and I've had two glasses of wine.

Picassospaintbrush · 06/06/2018 21:29

evandance.

I thought my typeing was bad.

vicviking · 06/06/2018 21:29

Thanks madvixen. So there needs to be a penis for rape. No penis no rape. Sex segregated spaces for women = no rape. Nice and clear.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 06/06/2018 21:37

I don't envy whoever is reviewing this. Its potentially pissing off 99% of their customers, or facing the wrath of narcisistic transactivists and their weaponized social media.

I thought i was missing something when fox posted that link

But I obviously wasnt

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 06/06/2018 21:44

Well men don't seem to like women in their spaces either, are they also mumsnet terfs?

Sex segregation is generally a popular idea.

Picassospaintbrush · 06/06/2018 21:49

It wouldn't be pissing off 99% of their customers, probably such a small number will kick up a fuss, probably just mumsnetters who are terfs.

That lifeboat sank some time ago!

Just mumsnetters!

OneHourTwentyFourMinutes · 06/06/2018 21:59

Why oh why did MPs put us in this position?

Please fight for your own transgender specialist spaces and services. You will have a beautiful space all to yourself, it will probably be nicer than standard spaces. You will probably get one on one customer service, rather than a communal space and shared customer service like the rest of us have. M&S will probably ask you to consult on design, colour scheme and so forth of your own space, where the mirror is placed, how big the mirror is. It's up to you if you would rather spend time designing a bespoke exclusive space for yourselves or not.

M and S isn't worried about losing trans customers - it's worried about the cost of trans legal action. M and S knows that transactivists, far from being marginalised and oppressed, have bottomless resources to pursue any organisation that wishes to protect women. It also knows that TRA have the vindictiveness, organisation and persistence to maintain an action and to repeatedly appeal to higher and higher courts.

Pratchet · 06/06/2018 22:35

Hour: as one feminist so eloquently put it, transactivists could have the moon on a stick right now if they asked.

They hate us so much that they could have literally anything they want, but instead would rather take from us our last pitiful scraps of dignity and safety.

CosmicCanary · 06/06/2018 22:43

TERF is hate speech Fox please do not use it.

FoxOnSecurity · 06/06/2018 22:53

@CosmicCanary it's not hate speech thro... Do people here exclude trans people and are radical feminists? Do they believe that transsexual and transgender people do not have the right to consider themselves female? They they are terfs. Quite simple really.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 06/06/2018 22:55

No i do not exclude transgender people

Are you saying i should consider transmen as being female? Is that not a little transphobic?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 06/06/2018 22:56

Oh wait

You are one of those 'transmen dont exist' people

Shocking fox

Pratchet · 06/06/2018 22:56

Same I don't exclude trans people, also I know that some trans people are female.

Picassospaintbrush · 06/06/2018 22:57

The can consider their selves female. That isn't the same is it begin true.

And by exclude do you mean wish to retain a legal meaning of sex that has a legal meaning of sex rather than a legal meaning of nothing?

UpstartCrow · 06/06/2018 22:57

Has MN taken a position on 'terf'?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 06/06/2018 22:57

Sorry

Forgot the sad face Sad

Baroquehavoc · 06/06/2018 23:01

Pratchet. I agree with your posts at 22:32/35.

They hate us so much that they could have literally anything they want, but instead would rather take from us. It would appear so.

CosmicCanary · 06/06/2018 23:02

Fox feminists exclude males from feminisim.
Transwomen are bioligically male.

Terf is a slur and is used against women the same way witch was used back in the day. Terf is also used as an excuse for violence towards women.

I have asked please do not use it given its connection to violence against women.

AngryAttackKittens · 06/06/2018 23:13

I'm a PERF (penis exclusionary radical feminist). I mean, penises are fine in the appropriate context, but that context is not a women's changing room.
