All the Mumsnet hate on Twitter. Have we friendzoned India's penetration?

It seems that India is a little obsessed and is even now actively encouraging brands to stop advertising with Mumsnet.
A picture of a 17 year old with a semi in a skirt will stop a baby formula brand wanting to be associated apparently Confused twitter.com/IndiaWilloughby/status/987348210858577921?s=20

Forgive me if this has been said but surely transvestite MUST mean clothing. Isn't the 'vest' but the same root as 'vestments'?

I think - but I am not entirely sure - that 'transvestite' is still an acceptable word for someone who is only interested in the clothes.

The type who seem to evade naming at the moment are the men who get breast implants. It seems that they get off on this combination of male genitals with feminine breasts - as do, clearly, a significant number of other men who seek them in porn and prostitution. There are many of these men on hashtags #tranny and #shemale but I am not sure how it is PC to refer to them.

Please enlighten me anothertranswoman

The porny dudes with breast implants- I'd say it's probably going to be out of bounds for anyone but then but large numbers of them refer to themselves and each other as "dick girls". I'd rather not use the term because..well..It's gross.. But I empathise with you, RTDB, because a lot of these words' "offensiveness" or affection is based on region, culture which circles you move in etc.

There are people within the Trans movement (typically AGPs) who insist "transsexual" is "transphobic", ditto "transvestite". The transsexuals I know have always called themselves "tranny" in a typical Aussie way. It all varies.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 19:28

It is both disgusting and inaccurate. They should be called 'breast men' - they certainly aren't 'girls' since girls are female children.

AnotherQuoll · 24/04/2018 02:28

Yup. That's why I find the term so revolting.

thebewilderness · 24/04/2018 02:35

They spam people on tumblr constantly calling themselves "shemales".

Terminology wise though it it calling adult males girls that tells you what is really going on. 2+2=5

Ooh now India has gone full narc rage mode in Prick News

Is this defamatory? I hardly think India has a leg to stand on - slating News of the World.... in a unregistered anti-lesbian propaganda blog like Prick News.Confused

This is funny:
Last week was my first ever visit to Mumsnet. Honestly, I thought it was going to be lots of stuff about prams, or family-related matters. A sort of online This Morning minus Phil and Holly. The reality is more like a Nuremberg Rally. It’s very scary.

  1. She doesn't seem to know much about women if she thinks all we talk about is kids and prams.
  2. Nuremberg Rally???? Can't Mumsnet sue?
RefuseToDenounceBiology · 24/04/2018 17:10

That's what I'm thinking. Blatant defamatory lies.

Such a control freak. We are the crazies if we don't accept India's beliefs as facts.

We also have an ongoing court case involving a trans women accused of assaulting someone at a demo. The trans woman claims she was acting in self-defence. this written after the perpetrator

I thought it’d all be kittens but by god there are women on there with....(clutches pearls) opinions. and some of them didn’t defer to me.
burn them all!

Seriously, have you ever seen some of the witch trial cases? There’s a particularly horrible one where a man had been trying to have his way with a young woman in the village who had turned him down repeatedly. He used the witch hysteria to have her denounced as a witch and tortured her himself as part of the investigation.

Plus ca change.

Janie143 · 24/04/2018 17:13

Was found guilty of the offence

Janie143 · 24/04/2018 17:15

And there was no discussion about section 28

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2018 17:16

** Wow, gone the full Godwin.

There’s even a debate about introducing a new trans Section 28, clamping down on educating the public about what transgender is.

No there isn't. It's true what Churchill said: 'A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. '

Melamin · 24/04/2018 17:16

Last week was my first ever visit to Mumsnet

Well, that must have been a quick visit before the JHB programme. Not really long enough. You need at least a couple of weeks on here.

Honestly, I thought it was going to be lots of stuff about prams, or family-related matters. A sort of online This Morning minus Phil and Holly Talk about sexist stereotyping Confused

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2018 17:17

Gah, bolloxed my bolding.

Melamin · 24/04/2018 17:20

The current attack on trans people is unprecedented. Any show of support would be greatly appreciated

Is this 'I'm not getting my own way on everything, pile on and troll mumsnet for me'?

Bowlofbabelfish · 24/04/2018 17:22

The current attack on trans people is unprecedented.

What attack? Because people disagreeing with you on a discussion board is not an attack.

There is no attack from mumsnet.

I suppose the fact that India can only spout this shit in an online site of dubious patronage shows the mainstream have had it with the deranged loony views.

Julia Hartly-Brewer had to give really strict boundaries before letting India onto her show which India totally overstepped. I bet you there are a lot of producers etc wondering if India is worth the grief.

I have never been flashed. I'm trying not to take it personally
I've often thought when I've been flashed though that is not an experience I would have chosen to have had at least some random bloke thinks I'm hot. The bright side and all that.....

flowersonthepiano · 24/04/2018 17:35

Jeez Hmm they're really having fun with that sarky section 28 comment from a trans supporter aren't they. Not too concerned about the truth that Pink News. What a pile of shit.

Melamin · 24/04/2018 17:38

It is a veeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyy lllllllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg rant indeed.
