All the Mumsnet hate on Twitter. Have we friendzoned India's penetration?

It seems that India is a little obsessed and is even now actively encouraging brands to stop advertising with Mumsnet.
A picture of a 17 year old with a semi in a skirt will stop a baby formula brand wanting to be associated apparently Confused twitter.com/IndiaWilloughby/status/987348210858577921?s=20

I'm sure IW could say the same about MN (and I include myself here) during and post CBB.

You've got to be kidding me.

IW was getting slated all over the internet and everywhere for that utterly appalling, bullying and deranged behaviour on CBB. Why pick on MN?

OP posts:
RefuseToDenounceBiology · 22/04/2018 09:47

Further to my 'spiteful' comment - MN has threads on all sorts of topics and provides support in every aspect of parenting from the trivial to the terrifying and overwhelming. It is a lifeline.

IW chose to go on CBB and deliberately went in to play the 'bad guy' at least that was the claim after eviction.
CBB was trying to achieve notoriety or validation or possibly some kind of career move and insodoing, pissed people off by over stepping the mark - bullying women in their 80s, physical dominance displays, trying to force people to mouth words they know are not true, insulting women as a group.

Of course people are going to talk about it. That is Big Brother for you.

IW i's not the first person to make a twat of themselves on CBB and won't be the last.

Of course not. But there were loads of threads about IW on here calling IW a man etc. etc. so I find it a bit "bizarre" that people are finding it "bizarre" that IW is joining in with the anti-MN TRAs and not seeing why there is good reason from IW's point of view to be fucked off with MN.

People keep praising MN for allowing this to be the only place the
discussion happens, so of course it's the place that gets picked on.

I just looked at #indiawilloughby on twitter. It seems a lot less thoughtful and controlled than Mumsnet. Why isn't IW taking it out on Twitter?

My own guess is that it's because IW uses Twitter, men use Twitter, men who bully women are allowed on Twitter and mums should interact like a set of repressed housewives with no opinions having a 'nice coffee morning' - all the time yearning for someone with male privilege to join us to hold court- in IW's eyes.

India seems to be going full-on MRA on twitter at the moment.

Martin Daubney has clearly stolen/parodied feminist language/analysis and does a false equivalence/reversal and India says it is 'so true'.

Clearly India just likes the clothes of women but is 100% MRA underneath.

Similar questions might be asked of those who have focused on a thread here discussing the Daily Mail's article 'NHS sex change drugs are putting hundreds of children at risk each year warns top doctor who says medication could lead them infertile or cause sexual dysfunction' rather to the comments on the DM article itself.

Last week, I think amongst the screenshots 'proving' Mumsnet's 'transphobia' was one highlighting the word, 'trannie'

With regards to taking it out on Twitter, putting the word 'trannie' into a search shows some very serious issues... WARNING contains a great deal of explicit images

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 12:51

Holy crap.

In my day 'tranny' was a word for crossdressers/transvestites - used mockingly or affectionately depending on the circles you move on.

On twitter the meaning has definitely changed to 'shemale' - ie a bloke with breast implants. And there are loads of them!

OP posts:
TerfinUSA · 23/04/2018 13:14

you do realise your last post will be posted on Twitter as evidence of evil terfdom on MN?

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 13:33

Why is that? If you look on #tranny on Twitter you will have a shock. It is all 'shemale' porn. Is 'shemale' now problematic?

Is talking about men's sexual fetishes unacceptable on a feminist forum too? Confused

OP posts:
RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 13:39

I'm sure Grayson Perry would not be bothered in the slightest to be called a 'tranny' and he is the kind of person the word belongs - a shortening of transvestite.

Now having taken women and transsexuals, are transvestites now having their culture redefined for them?

OP posts:
yetanothertranswoman · 23/04/2018 14:53

It is all 'shemale' porn. Is 'shemale' now problematic

You have to be told if 'shemale' or 'tranny' are problematic?

Seriously?

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 15:03

Seriously

So what is the appropriate name for someone who makes a big deal about their penis in porn but has got breast implants?

What do you call transvestites now?

OP posts:
RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 15:08

You have to be told if 'shemale' or 'tranny' are problematic?

If there are lots of people using the hashags #shemale and #tranny to promote penis-centred pornography featuring males with breast implants - how do you suggest people discuss those hashtags without using the words.

If you are discussing the changed meaning of words how do you do it without using those words?

OP posts:
yetanothertranswoman · 23/04/2018 15:11

What do you call transvestites now

Transvestites. It's not difficult.

Tranny has been used for ages by people who have an issue with trans people and transvestites - often associated with giving them a good kicking.

Some people are trying to reclaim the word whilst others will always associate it with people using it as a slur - often with real violence.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 15:22

How do you differentiate between:

  1. A man who enjoys dressing in women's clothes (formerly known as transvestites --and god forbid 'trannies' in some circles )

  2. A male who suffers from body dismorphia and undergoes a complete shift to become as close as they can to being like the opposite sex including genital surgery (formerly known as transsexuals)

  3. A man that likes being male, but also opts to have breast implants formerly god forbid known as shemales

since all the terminology has been updated and the former distinctions are completely taboo and I didn't get the latest wokest memo for terms yetanothertranswoman ?

OP posts:
R0wantrees · 23/04/2018 15:22

Just to be clear, I brought up this specific word in reference to the fact that whilst so much focus is on Mumsnet, there are other platforms such as Twitter and comments under Daily Mail articles which should surely deserve similar scrutiny.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 15:26

often associated with giving them a good kicking

I didn't think about this.

OP posts:
RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 15:30

However I would still like to know the PC words differentiating between the 3 types above.

OP posts:
TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 23/04/2018 15:46

Efforts have been made to reclaim the word 'slut' but I'd still be pretty upset if I heard a bloke using it to talk about women.

Agree that we need some sort of language to refer to relevant sexual fetishes which doesn't confuse them with gender dysphoria

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 23/04/2018 15:55

More on the use of words (still waiting for PC terms)..

I don't actually use the word 'tranny' anyway - I only used the word to explain that it has changed meaning according to twitter - to mean a male with breast implants - in other words - changed from clothing choices to body morphication - quite a significant change in my opinion.

The other thing is - what about the 'Q' that is now being given legitimacy by being put on the LGBTQI+ ?

I have known people who have been beaten and abused whilst being called 'queer'. In fact I've even had randoms walk past or lean out of vans and shout it at mates when I have been with them. It is still used with contempt. So why is it PC/woke/acceptable to use it now?
