All the Mumsnet hate on Twitter. Have we friendzoned India's penetration?

It seems that India is a little obsessed and is even now actively encouraging brands to stop advertising with Mumsnet.
A picture of a 17 year old with a semi in a skirt will stop a baby formula brand wanting to be associated apparently Confused twitter.com/IndiaWilloughby/status/987348210858577921?s=20

Not too concerned about the truth that Pink News.

They're about as legitimate as Veterans for Britain I'd say.

Good grief, have I just skim read an article by a supposed journalist who doesn't know the difference between its and it's?

R0wantrees · 24/04/2018 17:49

Almost as if Gooliana had helped write the article.

AnitaLovesVictor · 24/04/2018 17:52

This is interesting:

Waving a piece of paper or shouting “I’m a woman” is not going to buy any leniency from the police or courts.

Which assumes all sexual abusers are caught and punished by the law, and negates the very reason women want sex-segregated spaces in the first place - for safety, privacy and dignity.

Saying to a woman "oh, well any sex offender who did assault women or girls by abusing the self ID laws to gain access to female spaces will be punished in court" just won't wash.

R0wantrees · 24/04/2018 17:55

Waving a piece of paper or shouting “I’m a woman” is not going to buy any leniency from the police or courts

though it will mean that the victim will have to respect the accused's pronouns, affect which prison they might be housed in if guilty and how the crime is recorded.

thebewilderness · 24/04/2018 17:58

Waving a piece of paper or shouting “I’m a woman” is not going to buy any leniency from the police or courts.

This was my favorite part. Willoughby shouted "I'm a woman" on CBB which was instrumental in a number of people realizing that they are not.
The physical and legal male who assaulted Maria and was found guilty didn't even need a piece of paper to get leniency. Saying they were transgender was all it took

Masked men surrounding women on the steps so they couldn't enter was IW's idea of supporting the transgender community in Bristol? Good to know IW is pro terrorism.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 24/04/2018 18:00

shouting “I’m a woman”

Interesting turn of phrase... perhaps belying India's feelings of impotent frustration from trying this technique themself.

Embarrassing. The quality of the writing is awful. So many factual inaccuracies. India seems to have done very little research on the subject.

If India does have a point about transphobia then India failed to make it in that article.

The thing is that one day India may have a legitimate point but having frothed on about Hitler and Nuremberg rallies then nobody will take India seriously.

That's the point about crying wolf.

You can't keep crying. And keep expecting to be taken seriously.

AnitaLovesVictor · 24/04/2018 18:03

Yes, Rowantrees - an extra layer of insult to any victim.

Prevention is better than cure, so the saying goes. We have these spaces for females precisely because of the culture of male violence and sexual assault against women. And now India Willoughby who was raised as a male, lived as a man for 50 odd years, is trying to brainwash us that this isn't/shouldn't be a problem for women.

FGS, India has never lived through being a teenage girl - at school - dealing with growing breasts and periods. We need space away from the boys. Even the ones that feel like girls.

AncientLights · 24/04/2018 18:04

So transactivists are much maligned, persecuted, hated, are they? How come they get invited to a 10 Downing St party? And get to have unopposed meetings in Parliament? Can IW really believe the bile IW spews? As for believing MN was about prams & pussycats, why did IW check in here if that was the case? Not the usual subjects of interest for that individual. Must be dreadful to go through life with such a massive chip on your shoulder because you weren't born female.

R0wantrees · 24/04/2018 18:08

I learned a new word today...
'nutpicking'
"the practice of picking through the comments of blogs, email threads, discussion groups & other user generated content in an attempt to find choice quotes proving that the advocates for or against a particular political opinion are unreasonable uninformed extremists"

That article leaves me speechless- pure propaganda. I would like to shout "I am a feminist" just as IW shouted "I am a woman" as IW cannot get IW's head round the fact that real female feminists are defending their real female spaces from real men with penises. Transexuals with grc are not the problem IW. Drunk lads having the right to raid the ladies and having no right to stop them would be. My daughter getting changed in top shop with some she male in the next booth would be.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 24/04/2018 18:14

How come they get invited to a 10 Downing St party?

Exactly

I'm more alarmed by the cucumber sandwiches and clinking champagne glasses at N°10 than I am by the masked mob in Bristol.

link to many of the reasons why many Mumsnet members were grateful to Justine and MNHQ for standing up against those TR activists trying to shut down discussion:

What’s the problem? Girls have been in the Scouts since 1991"

Playing to the MRAs.

Ereshkigal · 24/04/2018 18:25

As with what IW said about male violence to Karen Ingala Smith.

"Which is why the government and the likes of The Sunday Times, Daily Mail and Mumsnet need to show some responsibility"

But not PN apparently.

Datun · 24/04/2018 18:45

TerfinUSA

That post was excellent. I wish you would start a thread with it.

There is no doubt that TRAs banging on about mumsnet brings more people to the site.

It certainly makes more people aware of the issue. Which is why I don't understand why they are targeting it.

However, it would still be very useful to have a thread refuting the article that IW has authored. As a sort of shortcut.

Either way, it's an excellent post.

It's a key characteristic of transactivism that groundless accusations are rife.

It's an odd phenomenon, that some people think others will believe assertions with no proof.

Tinlegs · 24/04/2018 18:45

Anyone fancy crowdfunding to support Mumsnet in calling out this shit in court??

AornisHades · 24/04/2018 18:45

India believed Theresa May's promises? Well that was never going to fly was it?

MsMcWoodle · 24/04/2018 18:47

I'm not sure about you - but most Radical Feminists I know don't carry weapons
