Kiri has been voted in as President of the NUT, she is openly gender critical and a supporter of A Womans Place UK. I think this shows that teachers are not as in thrall to the TRAs as said groups think.

If only we had someone in the Government Education department who was so sensible and protective of the rights of Women and Children.
Small victories will get us there in the end.

As far as I can see, she's not president for the new NEU - she seems to be caretaker president for the NUTOnline section of the NEU before the official merge?

Someone correct me? I can't find anything suggesting the contrary at all, and I've been looking hard. She doesn't seem to have been elected as president?

These tweets suggest shes the new NUT president. The NUT and ATL are separate sections of the NEU

Good. I guess women trades union leaders know more than many the realities of sexism, and are well versed in being assertive against misogynists.

Kiri Tunks is the new President of the National Union of Teachers section of the the NEU (formed from the merger of NUT, 372,000 members with the smaller ATL, 200,000 members). Her inaugural presidential address is on youtube (there's about 44 minutes of 'livestream filler' before her speech).

Too dim to realise that anyone she blocks can easily see the lies she writes.
Calling Woman’s Place and Transgender Trend ‘hate groups’ makes them look like unhinged nutjobs.

I wonder by what majority Kiri was voted in ?

Yeah. Right. So that's why transwomen speak at the events including a teacher who is a transwoman.

Mimmy hasn't a clue. I've sat through hours of teacher child protection training. Much of what she advocates would be a cause for concern according to the guidelines. And she seems dumb to the fact that teachers have a duty of care to their pupils and cannot allow any kind of bullying homophobic, sexist or transphobic. And the transgender trend pack covers this sensitively.

NUT section of NEU runs until 2019 when ATL and NUT fully merge.

She became president on Friday at the official handover at conference. Will probably take a few days to update as conference runs until tomorrow

She is a fantastic person all round (a very good friend from years ago). Am so happy that she is now in this role although I am not a teacher.
