What an awful article! Such an inaccurate representation of women. Not a good representation for trans women either-all they’re good for is sex is what I gleaned from it.

donquixotedelamancha · 22/03/2018 15:45

What they fail to understand is that pheromones are hard wired onto attraction and sex

There is no evidence of pheromones having an effect on humans. Your statement may be true for a beetle or a dog, but not people.

More generally:

That website is clearly awful. It's an example of the worst stereotypes of trans culture and it's right to take the piss out of it; but please remember that there are genuine transexuals on MN who've lead their whole life quietly passing and have no desire to see women's rights eroded. Let's not talk as if this website represents all trans people.

TeiTetua · 22/03/2018 15:54

How interesting it would be to hear about two translesbians having passionate sexual, uh, something. But somehow they don't seem all that attracted to each other.

According to Verhaeghe et al. (2013) "Pheromones and their effect on women’s mood and sexuality":

"Pheromones are substances which are secreted to the outside by an individual and received by a second individual of the same species. Many examples exist in animals but their role in humans remains uncertain since adults have no functioning vomeronasal organ, which processes pheromone signals in animals. Yet pheromones can be detected by the olfactory system although humans under develop and underrate their smelling sense... some data indicate that 16-androstene pheromones, in particular androstadienone, play a beneficial role in women’s mood, focus and sexual response, and perhaps also in mate selection."

Milliepede · 22/03/2018 16:05

That's one of the funniest things I've read for ages. Even the comments from the TIMS are calling it bollocks.

GayAllen · 22/03/2018 16:07

Pfft. Yeah. Enjoy her honeymoon fresh new vagina but make sure she’s rinsed it recently as it’s made of colon so might whiff a bit.

Datun · 22/03/2018 16:16

Of course it doesn't. However it does represent all the transwomen who are demanding they be allowed to violate women spaces and breach their boundaries.

donquixotedelamancha · 22/03/2018 16:53

@vesuvia Thanks for the reference. That study was interesting, and it's just nice to get a reply with actual science.

"some data indicate that 16-androstene pheromones, in particular androstadienone, play a beneficial role in women’s mood, focus and sexual response, and perhaps also in mate selection"

That's a very weak conclusion, and it's about as strong a statement as can be made on the effectiveness of pheromones in humans. The reason is in your quote:

"no functioning vomeronasal organ, which processes pheromone signals in animals"

Many animals have strong pheromone responses with substantial control over behaviour. Humans don't, but smell does play a part in mood and attraction.

The reasons straight blokes don't fancy transvestites and generally are not attracted to transexuals is about a lot more than just smell.

@Datun.
"Of course it doesn't. However it does represent all the transwomen who are demanding they be allowed to violate women spaces and breach their boundaries."

I agree. It's like a manifesto for some of the oddballs who have appropriated the term trans.

LaContessaDiPlump · 22/03/2018 17:12

Transgender females are emotionally stable. Due to the fact that they have to stand against social discrimination, stereotypes, and bigotry, they cannot afford to be emotionally unstable.

BWAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA......oh christ they're serious.

MissPiggysKarateChop · 22/03/2018 17:15

Genuine question: Do transwomen who identify as lesbian (ie ‘men who still want to have sex with women’) accept transwomen as partners then?

I have read it is conveniently triggering for them, or just too much because they are both on hormones / going through something life altering. There are some who do though.

SusanBunch · 22/03/2018 17:59

LOL at 'triggering'. So it's just too painful to be reminded that they are not real women. I am a fat person who will only date thin people because otherwise it's super-triggering for me because it reminds me that I too am fat.

Suspect it has more to do with how they are actually heterosexual men and despite shouting from the rooftops about being 'real women' they actually don't want to have sex with a fellow 'real woman'.

PositivelyPERF · 22/03/2018 18:07

Transgender females are emotionally stable. Due to the fact that they have to stand against social discrimination, stereotypes, and bigotry, they cannot afford to be emotionally unstable.

But.....but....but that can’t be true. I thought loads of them were suicidal because of all the nasty terfs? 🤔 Does that mean someone is lying? 🤥

TheReluctantFundaFeminist · 22/03/2018 18:13

"the whole experience is further enhanced due to the novelty factor"

That would be the penis then .....?

Christ, I can't stop giggling

TERFousBreakdown · 22/03/2018 18:13

Most men on this planet will not experience the transgender sex experience due to a combination of social conditioning and internalized inhibitions; they are missing out big time.

That thing you refer to as 'internalized inhibitions'? It's actually called sexual orientation, hence why heterosexual men are unlikely to feel they're missing out ...

gussyfinknottle · 22/03/2018 18:21

Doesn't really sound like "making love". Sounds like fucking. The disrespect is revolting.

gingergenius · 22/03/2018 18:22

Transgender females are emotionally stable. Due to the fact that they have to stand against social discrimination, stereotypes, and bigotry, they cannot afford to be emotionally unstable.

Well of course NONE OF IS can afford to be emotionally unstable. Sadly though, mental health is rarely fair and those of us who ARE emotionally unstable certainly aren't by choice. Let's stigmatise mental health problems shall we? Isn't that also a protected characteristic?

FFS!!!

Lovesagin · 22/03/2018 18:23

Fresh vagina?

Having sex with a TIM who still has their twig and giggleberries isnt homosexual sex?

That article is fucking comedy gold 😂

TinLizzy · 22/03/2018 18:48

men have to be gentle with these women, as they might not be used to their newly implanted vaginas

This bit is creepy....it's like they are frightened little virgins with their brand new vaginas, but also slavering sex maniacs, cos, reasons.

nightshade · 22/03/2018 18:52

Lol...

I have visions of Mizz and Just Seventeen!!

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 22/03/2018 19:10

Yes, good point actually - the whole 'young little virgin but also nymphomaniac' thing is common amongst..... well, perverts, isn't it?

Terfragette69 · 22/03/2018 19:17

donquixotedelamancha

I don't think the article represents all trans people, just the new fandango kool-aide ones who are causing all the trouble. Older transsexuals are probably laughing along with us.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 22/03/2018 21:42

I think it's actually a very well balanced article.

It manages to be extremely offensive to natal women.
And also extremely offensive to transwomen.

bellasuewow · 22/03/2018 21:59

This is the most unsexy article I have ever seen in my life and in the universe.

NathusiusPip · 22/03/2018 22:47

Oh dear, I've been being a woman all wrong... Sad

transsingleblog.wordpress.com/2017/08/04/mistakes-to-avoid-as-an-mtf-trans-woman/

PsychoPumpkin · 23/03/2018 00:19

Me too, pip. I probably don’t pass as a woman.
