Can someone PLEASE start a new party? One that is by women, for women and centres women in their politics? I would but I’m not a politician, just a loud mouthed angry woman who’s suddenly politically homeless, and I wouldn’t know where to start.

Wonder if it was Graham Linehan? He's been speaking out on Twitter against the bullying and online abuse of feminists by TRAs (god love him) and is getting a hammering for it.

Lots of talk on Twitter about women leaving the Labour Party. They're calling it #XXit. Grin

I see this as part of a continuing campaign to destroy the Left. It’s come from the aggressive alt-right tactics of Milo et al in the States. That’s why they couldn’t give a stuff about trans rights or women’s rights: their ultimate goal is to wreck all the work that the Left have done in past years.

A few years ago, Ed Milliband made it possible for anyone to join the Labour party. This is the result. Thousands of right wingers joined, some for a laugh, some with an agenda. A hard right Tory councillor in my area was boasting how he’d done it: if the Conservatives had any integrity, they’d have expelled him and others. The fact that they did not speaks volumes.

If you let them bully you out, they’ve won. They’ve destroyed Labour and they’ve made you politically homeless. Much better to stay and fight, surely.

I have voted in every single general election since being 18. This will be the first when it looks like there will be no-one to vote for, and the first spoilt ballot for me too.

I've been Labour since birth and a member for 35 years.

I always thought the £3 leader vote thing was a nonsensical idea and, it seem to me, this is what got Momentum started.

I don't want to be a TERF. I am a feminist, but I don't need to be 'radical'. And, until quite recently, like most people, I was 'live and let live' about transwomen, when we had actual processes. But now, if any old Tom, DICK, or Harry can say "hey, I'm a woman", especially because it means they get on an AWS, then I'm out.

I've been pretty/very close to cancelling membership anyway due to Momentum (I don't disagree with all their ideas, I abhor their methods and the way that, if you ever question them, you get called a 'red Tory').

Does anyone know if Harriet Harman has made any comment on this - as she was the instigator of the Equality Act?

Oh, btw, I am in HR and I've been vaguely wondering how this will affect Gender Pay Gap Reporting. 1) the gap will close as it's men insisting on being called women who are shoved into the women's category and then they can say 'hey, look, there's no gap', and 2) why is it Gender Pay Gap, and not Sex Pay gap?

I think you are in denial. This is coming from the left.

The left is allowing itself to be taken over by groups from the fringes with anti-progressive aims.

Something similar is happening to the right. However, no one would seriously argue that the right is being infiltrated by the left in a cunning plan to destroy them from the inside.

Both the left and the right are doing this to themselves. It's to do with the collapse of the centre.

I find it so insulting that they think that women are so aquiescent that we'll just go along with any old nonsense and keep voting for them.

Rather than do it individually let's coordinate together and make it something mass that can get press coverage.

I know the use of the word 'gender' over 'sex' has been more common as 'sex' sounds so salacious, but it just makes me wonder if we have sleep-walked into a problem.

Spot on. The amount of cognitive dissonance in parts of the party on this is astounding. It’s clear that Corbyn had no intention to support or even explore anything other than a complete acceptance of self ID. The appointment of the terrible Bergdorf was a big ‘fuck you’ to women and was made at the highest level. Bypassing established affiliates.

I just wish I hadn’t already left so that I could leave again.
