Be interesting if it actually gets debated.

Like pp terf and granny have said, why the heck can't men and boys wear makeup, frocks and have long hair any more? They were all very gorgeous in the 1980s, with their eyeliner and kilts / skirts and long dyed hair.

Men did expand their space back then. A lot of men stopped being so homophobic, for a start.

What's happening now - this colonisation of women's space - is horribly manipulative; and is itself homophobic. How Stonewall can't see that, suggests they've been infiltrated by some right nasty bastards who are hiding behind the 'Right On' shield.

Goldmonday
There was a transwoman talking about the 30+ genders and how if you didn't accept that you had to 'get with the program'. Then another transwoman introducing her/him/self as a lesbian to a group of incredulous looking teenage boys. Paris Lees going on about 48% suicide rates. Proud father of trans young teenager showing his/her 'journey' scrapbook with emply boxes of drugs (totally safe according to dad) glued around glitter. Cue more parents with their transing kids - one of which was 7 yo(!). Three mumsnet-type mums as the only dissenting voices and some education chap trying to be reasonable.

BlindYeo · 22/02/2018 21:30

Is there a slim chance it might peak trans a load of people who hadn't given much thought to this before now?

colouringinagain · 22/02/2018 21:34

Fuming watching this Angry

Sparkyduchess · 22/02/2018 21:38

What an utter farce that was. Paris fucking Lees, a ‘lesbian ‘ transwoman, virtue cookie seeking mother of a 7 year old trans child, ‘entirely reversible ‘ treatment..it was like playing TRA bingo.

dogendsaredogs · 22/02/2018 21:40

Could someone please post an underlined hashtag so I could follow this- I'm not on twitter. The programme was awful and confirmed as if I needed it confirmed, that transthing is an evil plot to destroy society. Jeezlooeeze

twitter.com/hashtag/transkids?src=hash

One more.

Dallia · 22/02/2018 21:58

Oh god this was horrendous.

I am so scared for the future of our children.

dogendsaredogs · 22/02/2018 22:03

terf cheers for hashtags.

incorruptibledream · 22/02/2018 22:03

an evil plot to destroy society.

Dear me. Because kids want to explore gender in a way you didn't ? As the guest said... get with the programme!

endofthelinefinally · 22/02/2018 22:06

I couldn't bear to watch it.
Too worried it would be a load of crap.
Was it?
(Haven't dared even read the thread yet).

Terftastic · 22/02/2018 22:07

Get stuffed incorruptibledream

I spent my teens dancing to this:

Don't start thinking you've inventing it.

You don't need to feed kids hormones. That make them sterile.

CecilyNeville · 22/02/2018 22:10

Paris also calling the Tavi doctors 'paranoid'. If I were an experienced professional putting the healthcare of vulnerable people as my priority, I might feel a bit affronted at that.

TheLovelyHorse · 22/02/2018 22:12

Because kids want to explore gender in a way you didn't ?

And we didn't in the late 1970s and the 1980s?? You ignorant buffoon, as Michael Palin might riposte.

Gender benders, Greenham Common, Two-Tone, punk, New romanticism, gay pride, Quentin Crisp, the Poison Girls and Ripley.

TheLovelyHorse · 22/02/2018 22:13

Soft Cell playing final gig soon :(

Terftastic · 22/02/2018 22:16

We managed gender bending in the 70's and 80's without feeding kids drugs - imagine that?!

Waddlelikeapenguin · 22/02/2018 22:24

I wont watch but twitter is reassuring. My Star goes to...
Sorry but if I had a pound for every gender there is I’d have £2
Grin

UpstartCrow · 22/02/2018 22:25

Medicating children is not 'exploring' anything. Its irreversible damage.

Its not difficult to realise that 20 years ago, huge numbers of children did not attempt suicide because they believed they were the wrong sex.

littlebillie · 22/02/2018 22:28

Child abuse and cynical drug industry

TheLovelyHorse · 22/02/2018 22:35

In the 1980s I experimented with my sexuality. We also supported our gay male friends who had to wrestle with the growing fear of aids and their hiv status. We marched for rights and took recreational drugs, painted our faces, wore crazy clothes and dyed our hair like rainbows.

We didn't fuck about with children's bodies. Because that would be sick.

athingthateveryoneneeds · 22/02/2018 22:39

The more oxygen this issue gets, the better. Think people, think!!!

Bumblebzz · 22/02/2018 22:54

Is this gender bollox on the National Curriculum? Are all schools teaching it? I will remove my child from any lesson that reinforces gender stereotypes, I spend way tooo much time challenging gender stereotypes at home only for school to go and undo my good work, but I have not heard about it from our school. Do I have to ask the head if they will be teaching it? What age group is targeted? Any help appreciated please, and I don’t care if they (school) think I am a raging feminist (I am now) and my husband is even more livid about all this than I am.
