...please could I ask exactly what was your lightbulb moment? What did you hear or read that pushed you to our alpine slopes?

Namey - what an awful experience. Flowers Did you keep the message? Wondered if it would help with reporting a historic offence.

hyperspacebug · 12/02/2018 13:39

I was all 'I am too privileged, what do I know' and all 'let everyone be whoever they want'. Didn't question non-binary gender and trans stuff as it wasn't my place. Even the furore about transwoman wanting to be in womens prison, even though in prison for assault and still had ladydick. TRAs knew better than me what's best.

It was couple of years ago that my childrens' primary school did Diversity Week. Teaching kids same sex marriages and there was ' if you're not sure if you're a boy or a girl, there are people at school to help you. There are books and leaflets too'.

Thought that was a bit too much to fill my 7 year olds head with, easier him to figure it all as he had diverse enough friends anyway.

Trans on kids made me freak a bit out and reading poor parents writing about their autistic kids joining trans web cult and turning against their parents...it scared me.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie being called TERF when she sounded reasonable about shared experience. No platforming #nodebate #transphobe etc. Transwomen are women, women are ciswomen was getting too far.

Now discussions here about GRA - I'm all in. Time to call naked emperor naked emperor!

Horridemma · 12/02/2018 17:11

Swim England's sinister re-education comment was my light bulb moment.

I am now bloody angry 😡

I have my pitch fork ready to put in my Ford Focus to defend my daughters' rights.

I hate politicians so much right now I could explode. Woe betide any canvasser with a penis who knocks on my door!

Agerbilatemycardigan · 12/02/2018 20:33

Tweet by Lily Maynard about the fact that the female Deputy Exec. has quit over the Oxfam scandal.

It’s astonishing. Everywhere I look in the media today, a woman is being blamed for the fact that a group of entitled hypocritical men repeatedly sexually exploited vulnerable women. A WOMAN IS BEING BLAMED BECAUSE MEN COULDN’T KEEP THEIR DICKS IN THEIR PANTS. & it’s just normal.

1st rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.

You will find this to be common whether the woman is the victim blamed for their own death or the woman who is blamed for not stopping the predatory male.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 12/02/2018 20:40

'Twas ever thus sigh

DeleteOrDecay · 12/02/2018 20:59

Lily Madigan being appointed labour women's officer, closely followed by transwomen being allowed to compete in women's sports.

Flightywoman · 12/02/2018 23:56

I've thought I've peaked and just when I've thought I can't peak any more something else comes along...

Ladydicks were a peak. HOW CAN YOU SAY YOU'RE A WOMAN IF YOU STILL HAVE A PENIS? I just don't...I mean...GAH!

But really, it's the reduction of womanhood to tits, long hair, dresses and make-up. Gender stereotypes are not sex and nor are they the identifiers of sex.

And cis. I'm not fucking cis. I'm a woman.

And I know I can say this to many friends or family because they'll hate me and call me a terf.

TheChampagneGalop · 13/02/2018 18:45

I just saw this on twitter. I peak a little more each time I see anything from TRAs.

If you've only recently 'peaked'....
Freshlylaidterf · 13/02/2018 19:01

Ffs. Yep another peak for me. Awful man.

Fekko · 13/02/2018 19:10

Is that a ‘with’ or ‘without penis’ person?

TheChampagneGalop · 13/02/2018 19:18

With, of course, otherwise known as a man.

Destinysdaughter · 13/02/2018 19:24

The term ‘trans lesbian’ makes me laugh. Isn’t that just heterosexual male?? Hmm

thebewilderness · 13/02/2018 19:27

"Are women starting to notice that transwomen make the news for success in business, sport, the arts and politics, while transmen make the news for having babies?" The Feminazgûl

I think perhaps we are, yes.

Fekko · 13/02/2018 19:28

So a mysoginist then? Ho hum what’s new (apart from dressing it up in a frock and a ikkle girly pout?).

I was pondering - I wonder if women who say ‘do you know what? I’m a man, always felt like one, so I am one, call me Bernard’ get as much bending over backwards to accommodate them as a bloke saying ‘my name’s Doris and if you don’t call me Miss Flamingo I’m gonna knock your teeth out, mother’.

fishdogpancakes · 13/02/2018 19:38

I'm peaking so much I think I've launched myself past Pluto.

And how many of us think Tim Peaky face was first man up there waving from Space? He was. But the first PERSON was a woman. Now how many can name her?

SunsetBeetch · 13/02/2018 19:38

Probably Danielle 'suck my lady dick' Muscato (sp?). I thought this cannot be real!

BUT. I kept burying it and burying it, trying so hard not to be 'bigoted', frightened about people thinking I was a TERF and that I would upset trans people.

So it's kept building up for me, as I've been coming on mumsnet.

THEN I witnessed the Rose McGowen Andi Whateverwhocares thing as it was unfolding on twitter and it was like a big slap in the face. I could not BELIEVE that it was Rose was copping the flack and being painted as having a meltdown and all these people were telling her she should have shut up and listened. It got worse when the Women's March tweeted that fucking article with Andi. I was fucking RAGING. And this was before I found out that Andi was a pervert, paedophile sex offender.

(Incidentally, the handmaidens as you call them are STILL at it: chiding people for 'misgendering' the sex offender! Jesus wept!)

littlebillie · 13/02/2018 19:42

Cis 🙄 and hearing about a "trans" voice describing how women think about men it was something about a "man eye fucking her on an escalator"

I don't know any women who thinks like this and well yet again we have a mans definition 🙄🤬

fishdogpancakes · 13/02/2018 19:47

TransLesbian is a man who can't get a girlfriend so he pretends to be a Lesbian because he thinks he can gaslight them into believing he's just an overgrown girl with a ladydick.

FairfaxAikman · 13/02/2018 19:53

@fishdogpancakes I don't think that's correct that a woman was the first person in space, was it? Surely that's Yuri Gagarin (I only know as a place near my home town has a Gagarin Way)

fishdogpancakes · 13/02/2018 19:55

You are correct. I meant first British person. Multi tasking. Forgive me

Fekko · 13/02/2018 20:21

First dog was also female. Not sure about the moneky.

ruleshelpcontrolthefun · 13/02/2018 20:51

This thread really. I've never not been a feminist but I've also never been outspokenly feminist either. I'm not particulatly articulate and I shy away from debating in general but I don't like what I am reading and I don't know what to do. How do women like me do something? How do we stand up for ourselves when faced with rehearsed lines and aggression? My legs just go to jelly but I want to be stronger and louder.

RideOn · 13/02/2018 20:56

Rose Magowan being horribly heckled whilst talking about her experiences of sexual abuse. Then having to cancel appearances.

SunsetBeetch · 13/02/2018 21:10

This made me laugh on twitter.
