Just announced on their twitter and Facebook, Woman's Place UK are doing a meeting in London. If it's anything like the Bristol event it will sell out....

BeUpStanding · 23/02/2018 13:05

I'll volunteer to be another point of contact.

Valentinesfart · 23/02/2018 13:37

LittleLebowski · 23/02/2018 13:59

Goldmonday · 23/02/2018 14:15

So gutted I'm not in the country otherwise would have loved to go, please please update us on here after the event.

Also be careful, there may be a lot of angry and possibly aggressive TRAs hanging around.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/02/2018 15:45

I've always liked Quakers Smile

MyTerfNeedsRolling · 23/02/2018 17:24

I now have parents evening too, til 5pm, then an hours train journey to KX. Im not scared to approach the meeting alone but I am REALLY KEEN on seeing Datun there with a penis beaker placard 😂😂😂 And hopefully we can all get together for a sherry afterwards

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 23/02/2018 17:26

You'll know me, I'll be clutching my pearls Grin

BeUpStanding · 23/02/2018 17:37

That links not working for me unfortunately, but I'm a Quaker. We can be a most feisty bunch when it comes to issues of social justice Grin.

BeUpStanding · 23/02/2018 17:41

TRAs are going to know where the Women's Place meeting is surely? They just to buy a ticket.

JaimesGoldenHand · 23/02/2018 17:56

An alternative is to nominate a few different meet-up venues in areas that are convenient for different people's starting points (within London). Eg West End, City, Kings Cross.

Does anyone know when the venue will be given out? I could help PM people on Monday but not Tuesday.

JaimesGoldenHand · 23/02/2018 17:56

Or frankly I might just hoik up my big girl pants and turn up on my own.

MyTerfNeedsRolling · 23/02/2018 18:36

As suggested on the swimming pool thread, why dont we all just wear "manly" clothes and barge our way through any protesters...we can all self-id for the evening (dont forget your she-wee for the urinals though)😀

Datun · 23/02/2018 19:04

but I am REALLY KEEN on seeing Datun there with a penis beaker placard 😂😂😂

Oh shit. So my rash comment won't go under the radar then!

As far as I know, the emails telling you the venue are sent out on the morning of the day. Around 10 or 11 AM.

SnowontheCordyline · 24/02/2018 10:05

Not sure if I'm going to make it based on the current weather forecast Angry

MacaroonMama · 24/02/2018 11:50

Sweetgrapes I will PM you too. I am so excited about going! I will be coming in a mad rush as husband and I playing tag team childcare so I can attend, so it may be that I can't make a pre-meeting meeting.

I was thinking of a 'Naice ham' t-shirt though! Datun your penis beaker takes it to a whole new level Grin

Acorninspring · 24/02/2018 13:01

Beupstanding it's the London Quakers public FB group....... Gender critical Quakers might want to start considering how to start conversations in their meetings....

BagelGoesWalking · 25/02/2018 02:32

Could someone enlighten me, please. I was thinking about getting a ticket for this event.

However, I've just seen an event is taking place at the Milwall FC ground - is this the same event as the Women's Place event or a different one entirely?

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 25/02/2018 06:58

Two different events, Bagel. The Millwall one is part of the We Need to Talk series.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 25/02/2018 08:57

I am going to both.

BagelGoesWalking · 25/02/2018 09:59

Thank you Empress I wasn't sure.

SexMatters · 26/02/2018 10:07

I NC for this.

I won't be able to make this meeting, but would any of you going be able to print out a copy of this Sex Matters! document or this more printable version to do a bit of a temperature check on it with the people there - see if anyone would like to get involved?
I'd really appreciate feedback.

Thanks if any of you can
Have a great meeting!

christinarossetti · 26/02/2018 11:08

Although I don't post very often, I do want to say that I think it's very unfair on the event organisers that people are planning to send messages, even pms, that even vaguely identifies the venue or the area it's in.

WPUK are going to enormous efforts to avoid confrontation and enable the meeting to go ahead as planned, and it seems very unhelpful that discussions about organising meeting places are being had on a public forum.

This meeting will likely be more on TRAs radar than others, simply because it's in central London. As attendees, I think the right thing to do will be to respect the request form WPUK to not divulge the address/approx location in anyway on a public forum or via pm to people you don't know personally tbh.

It's looking to be quite a large event. Anywhere in central London will have lots of people around early evening during the week.

I think the safest thing to do for people who would prefer to approach the venue with others would be to hover in the nearby streets with an identifying something - penis beaker placard, packet of Pom bears, carnation or something else and find each other that way.

Honestly. The moment the venue is announced, they'll face pressure to pull out. That's what's happened at every other event. This information will get out and it's unfair and unhelpful to compromise WPUK's hard work in this way.

Okay, my two cents worth. Rant over.
