Just announced on their twitter and Facebook, Woman's Place UK are doing a meeting in London. If it's anything like the Bristol event it will sell out....

Booked - anyone travelling via kings cross who want to meet up?

PlonitbatPlonit · 15/02/2018 02:11

After the success of meetings in Cambridge, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh - I'm expecting this meeting to absolutely massive! www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-womans-place-is-making-a-stand-tickets-42865237078

Will already be in London on that day so would love to come along.

CisMyArse · 15/02/2018 06:47

I can only dream of coming - teaching in South Wales Sad

PM though for your meet ups. Want you all to be safe.

Will it be recorded do you think? I've been watching the November meet with Linda Bellos, Helen Steele and Anne Ruzylo on YouTube and it's an honour listening to these women talk.

LittleLebowski · 15/02/2018 07:09

I have booked a ticket too - only joined Mumsnet this week but have been reading obsessively regularly for quite some time so recognise many of the brilliant poster's names. Would appreciate meeting up. Planning to wear 'run away quickly ' shoesBlush! Please PM me, happy to meet anywhere.

BeUpStanding · 15/02/2018 07:13

Booked. Would also love to meet up!

stoneagefertilitydoll · 15/02/2018 07:14

I'm not living in the UK right now, so I've not been able to come to any of these - I'm so glad to see that it's snowballing - after all the cloak and dagger and worry around the first, tiny meetings

CunningOperative · 15/02/2018 08:11

Booked. Excited.

TheCopyist · 15/02/2018 08:27

Booked.

pressureofaname · 15/02/2018 13:55

I can’t go because I have an EBF baby who I can’t leave at home and I won’t risk taking her after the speaker’s corner incident.

Please, anyone, if you are on the fence about going, go for me? Am gutted not to be able to attend.

TheCopyist · 15/02/2018 13:57

Do we need to wear carnations and carry a copy of the Spectator so that we can recognise one another?

I'm booked to attend but am a bit scared of people protesting outside. I might bring my husband - or maybe meet some of you beforehand?

HatsontheWardrobe · 16/02/2018 18:28

cinematique I'm concerned about that too.

I'm elsewhere in London that day for work, and plan to get a taxi to the door once the venue has been announced. I might walk most of the way and just get a taxi for the last stretch, depends where it is. Out the taxi, straight into the venue - not looking left or right or speaking to anyone til I'm safely in.

AstraiaLiberty · 16/02/2018 19:52

I'm also concerned, especially having seen some of the footage of transactivists from Edinburgh.

I'll be getting a train to either Victoria or King's Cross depending on where the venue is, and then walking or taking the tube. Would be happy to meet up.

PencilsInSpace · 16/02/2018 20:05

I'm going and happy to meet up Smile

JaimesGoldenHand · 16/02/2018 22:17

I've booked and am nervous. Would be good to meet beforehand and arrive with someone. I'll be in London anyway.

PlonitbatPlonit · 16/02/2018 22:32

Please don't be scared. There will be hundreds of women there. Woman's Place UK really do their best to avoid any confrontations, but if there is a protest it is likely to be insignificant.

Booked and going! I’ll be in central London so if people are meeting up beforehand I’d love to tag along.

PlonitbatPlonit · 18/02/2018 19:10

So, who's going to this?

It's really soon now and getting exciting.... I wonder if tickets will sell out like in the previous meetings at Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh....

I'm coming.

If there's a meet up can someone pm me?

qumquat · 18/02/2018 20:51

Just booked my ticket. I have no idea if I'll be able to make the location in time since 'central London' could be a lot of places but didn't want to miss out. It's outrageous that the location has to be kept secret. I understand why of course but I can't believe in 2018 we need secret meetings.

Sunkisses · 20/02/2018 19:58

I am so looking forward to this too. I've already booked too as the other WPUK meetings sold out really quickly. I'd love to do a Mumsnet meet up beforehand as well. Or wear something identifying (maybe write Mumsnet on a sticker or something?). Great idea.

MacaroonMama · 20/02/2018 20:37

Booked! Going for you pressureofaname as I know too well juggling the needs of an EBF baby! My youngest is two now so Daddy can do bedtime! Will be thinking of you.

Hope to meet up with others too. Are we wearing a carnation, is that a thing?!

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 20/02/2018 21:52

For those of you that are worried please don't be. I was at the last London one and even after it all kicked off it really wasn't that bad. I kept my head down and it was easy to avoid trouble.

I hope you all have a great night. I can't make it but I will keep looking for updates on here.
