She is fucking WONDERFUL!

Just ordered her book too.

Go Rose!

MmmmmmBop · 03/02/2018 12:52

The official "Women's March" Facebook page has posted a link to the them.us article with the comment "Please read this interview with the activist who engaged Rose McGowan last night. Transphobia and denying trans women's identities is never okay. The pain we feel does not excuse the pain we cause others."

Angry

The comments show a whole lot of peaking going on.

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/02/2018 13:00

What effing pain has Rose McGowan caused anyone? As far as I can tell she didn't deny anyone's "identity", she referred to the aggressive "activist" as "sister" did she not?

NaturalWoman · 03/02/2018 13:06

But she didn't deny his chosen identity Confused

She simply chose to talk about her own experiences and not someone else's.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 03/02/2018 13:07

It's these fuckers demanding to be centred in anything that women do. And anything any single woman does. She has no right to stand up there and talk about the sexual assault women experience, she should be talking about males who say they are women. Fucking beggars belief.

LondonPainter · 03/02/2018 13:09

The Women's March sympathising with him over her. Sums up the crazy world of 2018 I think Angry

Mrsmiguelcervantes · 03/02/2018 13:11

God really London? Are they?

That is disgusting.

I honestly do believe the mask has slipped now, men are using the trans movement to channel their loathing of women, and a lot of women are showing how desperate they are for male approval by going along with it.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 03/02/2018 13:19

I DON'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS

LondonPainter · 03/02/2018 13:33

That tweet has 1400 likes despite the truth now coming out about the history of this attacker, who shouted "white feminist" at Rose while being an underprivileged white male...are all transactivists beyond criticism?

Collidascope · 03/02/2018 13:36

are all transactivists beyond criticism?

Just TIMs, I reckon. If Rose were a TIF, she'd be getting the same shit and accusations of hysteria and meltdown.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/02/2018 13:48

It wasn't a breakdown, it was self defence ffs!

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 14:23

Picture of McGowan - sharp, clear, in focus.

Picture of TIM - Blurry, out of focus, attempted MySpace angle.

And yet you can still tell at a glance which one was the woman. But in the event that you had terrible eyesight and had lost your glasses all doubt would be removed the moment the TIM opened his mouth and started vomiting entitlement all over the place.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 03/02/2018 14:31

State of this

“You’ve never once asked me what it was like to grow up as a woman, what it’s like to get a period” — This is cis-centred language that suggests getting a period is essential to the experience of living as a woman, which therefore suggests that trans women are not women. This kind of biological essentialism is textbook TERFism.

Yes, being female is an essential requirement in order to be a woman. This is reality-centered language that suggests that you should pull your head out of your ass and consider that the vast majority of humans on Earth think that you're talking complete fucking nonsense.

SisterMoonshine · 03/02/2018 14:40

I'm a middle aged woman who's being radicalised online Shock
Who'd have thought.

The TIMs really, really hate women.

NaturalWoman · 03/02/2018 14:41

Erm... but transwomen aren't women. That's the whole point. Well done for finally getting there...

Wanderingwomb · 03/02/2018 14:42

Ffs! My family marched for refugees and for Palestine and yet they are neither. Regardless of what your own identity tells you about yourself, did none of you have a mother? Or am I supposed to believe in an immaculate conception now too? *

*is what I would like to say more publicly if only I had larger ovaries

TheButterflyOfTheStorms · 03/02/2018 14:44

Can anyone get the story about Andi's sexual offending into the mainstream press? Sorry to say that, although I'd love to share on FB, something from The Times or Independent would go down better and be believed more.

Andi was angry IMO because Rose was saying the right thing but very clearly thinks Andi is a man. The speech isn't important. TRAs want to control he inside of all our heads. 1984 is here with a vengeance.

NaturalWoman · 03/02/2018 14:44

The TIMs really, really hate women.

Yes. Yes they do.

They hate us because being women is perhaps the one thing that every single one of us does better than every single one of them. But they've spent their whole lives being told that boys are better than girls; men are better than women and so they must be better at this too.

This will be a period of history (or herstory, if enough men decide to become women, I guess...) that is studied in the future about how it can all go so wrong...

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 14:45

It's like they think that if they start from any premise, no matter how absurd, and just keep talking as if said premise was obviously correct then everyone will believe them.

"Many say that dolphins are not gerbils, but as we all know this is anti-aquatic centered language that falsely suggests that dolphins are not land based mammals. This is textbook FlipperIsm"

Wanderingwomb · 03/02/2018 14:49

"cis centred language" you what?! Women are still socialised not to even fucking talk about their periods!
Ah well all this has sharpened my resolve to talk about periods etc a whole lot more. My poor kids.

OlennasWimple · 03/02/2018 14:49

That them.us article / interview with Andi is giving me the rage sooooo much. They really think that they are at the bottom of the pile and we are happily skipping around, with our vaginas and stuff, trampling all over them, don't they?

Even 20 seconds googling shows that the claim that TIM are more likely to be raped and murdered than women is absolute bull shit. Even in places like South America, where the murder rates of TIM are much higher than the UK and the US, there are still more women being assaulted and killed in both actual and relative numbers.

It's just outright lies and it makes me mad. Angry Angry Angry

OlennasWimple · 03/02/2018 14:52

Ah well all this has sharpened my resolve to talk about periods etc a whole lot more. My poor kids

When DD recently asked about how babies were made, I was far more frank with her about male and female anatomy than I was with DS when we had a similar conversation a few years ago, mostly because it's so important that she knows biological fact and I can't guarantee that she will get that from school etc anymore

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 15:01

"Well, first you figure out what gender the other person identifies as, that's very important. Then you ask lots of vague but leading questions in the hopes that they'll mention something that will give you an indication whether or not they have the kind of gametes that you don't have, so you'll know if you can make babies or not. Absolutely do not ask about genitals! Asking about genitals very bad. Also zie can always get a uterus transplant if necessary."

FFS, it's like matchmaking among Pratchett's dwarves, except everyone has a blue undercut and the sxes are coated in glitter.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 15:03

Axes. Please do not coat your sexes in glitter unless extreme exfoliation sounds like fun to you.
