I've just been reading on Twitter that if Andi was a man Rose wouldn't have shouted at him therefore he's really a woman. And the way the 'terfs' are doing him down proves he's a woman as well. Because they wouldn't dare do that to a man.

Which is ignoring the fact that it's Rose who's being accused of breaking down and being hysterical. Because that's what actually happens if a woman gets upset and emotional towards a man.

And usually I'll happily call someone anything they want within reason, I don't care how you live your life as long as it's not hurting anyone else. But I can't call this person a woman.

Because they wouldn't dare do that to a man.

Jeff's article was awful. They are attacking those who gave spent their lives fighting for their community and people are too scared to back up people like Jeff due to the backlash. They ruined his life, yet for some reason are untouchable.

The comments under the Jeff piece linked upthread are illuminating. One comment says that trans people can't bully because they don't have the power (conveniently overlooking the fact that bullying is exactly what happened to Jeff)

Well, there have been multiple instances of TRAs claiming that it's impossible for a trans woman to rape a "cis" woman because "cis" women have more power, so. Once you get bold enough to make that kind of claim all bets are off on the straining credulity front.

I am rewatching The Good Wife and some of what is happening on Twitter reminds me of different campaigns creating all these accounts to flood Twitter with a particular point of view.

I take some comfort from this because I think a lot of people feel as we do but simply won't post that point of view, plus there's an army out there taking over with the TRA perspective.

Unfortunately, a lot of people who claim to be seeking "social justice" are really seeking discourse control and proof by assertion; they believe they and their sympathizers are entitled to have the last word on any subject they choose, and that their demographic is being oppressed if anyone challenges their statements. It reminds me a lot of hardcore anti-vaxers.

An occupational hazard of activism is that it attracts fanatics and zealots, some of whom actually have serious mental illnesses or personality disorders. "Truth ownership" is a fairly common personality-disorder trait.

I know I felt so sorry for Jeff. This type of harassment seems to be common enough. I've see this which mentions some stories of women being hounded which are similar. This is one of the things that peak-transed me, the harassment of anyone with an opposing view-point in order to stop debate

It's a bit like that whole pizzagate conspiracy where a DNC sex ring was supposedly in a basement of a pizza place. People actually went to the place in question and discovered there was no basement yet so many doggedly still insisted it was true.

Yes, here's Andrew's story where he fakes a hate crime and whines about 'gay white men' having fun in Manhattan, while he runs the gauntlet of scary (black!) men in the Bronx wanting to kill him for being trans. And natch, he needs $,0000000s of surgeries so the scary men don't kill him. So it's a human rights issue, see.

Basically everyone they feel power, superiority and dominion over. They don't feel entitled to do any of this crap to straight men.

Well no, as the group most likely to find them sexually unattractive (and say so with no fluffing) is straight men. The one group who get away with no abuse. Also oddly enough, the group who tend to have actual transphobes in, and the group who commit almost all violence against transpeople.

Many of them are exclusively attracted to women (despite thinking lesbians shouldn't be), and they're (to use MRA terminology) "beta" males who aren't going to go after aggressive men or men who ridicule them. There was a good example on twitter the other night when there was a thread where as a joke men were posting pictures of trans identified males they found unattractive and laughing at them, under the heading "Labour's New All Women Shortlist". You'd expect the transactivists to descend on them en masse, wouldn't you? Can you imagine what they would say to women? Of course they were nowhere to be seen.
