Apologies in advance as this is Big Brother related. So watched I clip of the above and was wondering about people's views. As a R&B fan I know that Genuwine is a heterosexual male with, previously married and several children. He goes on BB assuming for the money and has advanced on by trans woman India Willoughby then makes advances towards him and he rejects "her" . She then storms off offended due to this and it is implied he is transphobic as 1. he doesn't want to kiss her and 2. Doesn't recognise her as female. Now I have lots of views about this but found it interesting that apparently this straight male Genuwine has no right to choose of state he is not sexually interested in someone who essentially was a male and is likely to be torn down as homophobic. Ironic given the current topics of sexual harassment that women are rightfully raising. Not sure what I'm asking really just thought it was interesting

My DP's pet name for me is Mrs Tumnus (after the faun in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) due to my winter pelt that starts at my arm pits and goes all the way down to my toes).

I suppose my breast, ovaries, uterus et al aren't real signifiers of being a woman. Only the leg hair matters ....oh, ok then. Must remember to get my GRC as an identified male sharpish. Will my salary increase do you think?

Babybauble · 08/01/2018 23:53

It boils my piss that many trans women glamourize being a woman. Having periods, babies, prolapses, pelvic floor issues, menopause, hormonal madness, etc etc, that's the reality of being a woman, regardless of how you look. Being a woman isn't about how you present externally, but how you naturally function biologically. Yes there are many variations and exceptions, but ultimately underneath the superficial crap trans women often idolise its hard going and anything but glamorous.

I suppose my breast, ovaries, uterus et al aren't real signifiers of being a woman. Only the leg hair matters .. yup the above is just unnecessary detail, your leg hair or lack of is what makes you a woman, we are allowed to use the word

Being a woman isn't about how you present externally, but how you naturally function biologically. can we make a golden plaque of the above please sums it up nicely Smile

How can it be homophobia if she is a woman? Can't have it both frigging ways

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/01/2018 00:37

I'm not watching but... he's forty-something and fairly good-looking from what I can see from the internet. India's got 5 years on him. How many 50 year old women (who aren't Angela Jolie good-looking) would hit on a bloke 5 years their junior and expect it to be reciprocated? On telly!

Am I missing something? Plenty of average looking 50 year old blokes would BTW.

IrkThePurist · 09/01/2018 00:54

Someone should remind India that everyone has the right to boundaries and to say No.
No one has the right to demand a kiss, or to kick off when they get a 'no'.

1DAD2KIDS · 09/01/2018 01:12

I see no huge up roar about it. I see common sense continuing in regards people's freedom of sexual preference. Sounds a bit like the normal anti trans people scaremongering. Where you say the extremist (like india) represent all trans people and that they are taking over country. Same as the right wing say about Muslims. The reality is the world is not up in arms about him sticking to his sexual preference or about that silly India's attention seeking. It is something of nothing, not example of the huge trans takeover (or what ever anti trans conspiracy theory is at play here).

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/01/2018 01:36

Bloke says that things that won't affect him aren't important.

Plus ca change.

From what I saw it wasn't just that he knocked her back for a kiss, it was that she then asked him outright if he would date a trans woman and with no hesitation he said no. She saw her arse and stomped off.

PocketCoffeeEspresso · 09/01/2018 07:29

I see no huge up roar about it

Yeah, interesting huh? Given the abuse women get for doing the same, or saying such things as 'that trans women are trans women' or that a woman isn't just a man without a cock.

I wonder what's going on there Hmm

picklemepopcorn · 09/01/2018 07:41

But @1DAD2KIDS, the difference is that these extremists are setting the agenda for sex education in schools and lobbying for legal changes to accommodate them at the expense of other people.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 09/01/2018 08:09

Must be lovely to have the luxury of male complacency 1DAD2KIDS.

ArcheryAnnie · 09/01/2018 08:25

It is something of nothing

Yeah, because you aren't being harrassed for sex, or sent rape and death threats because you know what biology is, and you aren't being asked to give up every scrap of privacy and safety you've worked so hard for, are you? You are just a bloke who doesn't give a shit about women, @1DAD2KIDS , so i don't expect you to think this issue is important.

LangCleg · 09/01/2018 08:38

Sounds a bit like the normal anti trans people scaremongering. Where you say the extremist (like india) represent all trans people and that they are taking over country. Same as the right wing say about Muslims.

But the extremists are representing all trans people. See the ATH manifesto, for example, and understand that these are people with input into government policy. Schools are giving lessons with no basis in science due to trans lobbying. Changes in law to suit trans extremism are being proposed. Single sex spaces are being lost. Etc etc etc.

Nobody's making laws to privilege Muslims, FFS.

80sQueen · 09/01/2018 08:48

I'm glad he had the confidence to say, nope I wouldn't date you. Again it was about wanting validation that as a trans woman a heterosexual male would find him attractive.

I know the thread has moved on, and I agree it's worrying that that there is this big push to change sex Ed, ignore biology etc.for this agenda with a sod how it affects everyone else mentality.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 09/01/2018 09:14

I thought this supposedly only happened to lesbians and so could be safely ignored?*
At least people (men) will maybe now see that they may be accused of transphobia if they reject the advances of a transwoman.

*This is sarcasm by the way.

Arkangel · 09/01/2018 09:21

I'm 100% pro trans.

India is not a woman. She may have inverted her willy, but she's still every bit a narcissistic man strutting around in eyeliner being aggressive and intimidating.

GuardianLions · 09/01/2018 12:11

She may have inverted her willy, but she's still every bit a narcissistic man strutting around in eyeliner being aggressive and intimidating.

Yes I did feel, when India was forcefully commanding a group of women 'to really penetrate' them with India's beliefs... that someone should have responded "If you want to penetrate women so much, why did you get your penis cut off?"

However, I think India fantasised about how validating the whole BB experience would be, probably some really exquisite dreams, and the reality did not work out that way AT ALL. I think that is why India is being so crazed and domineering - those fantasy characters have come to life, with a free and unpredicable will of their own, and are not behaving how the doting inhabitants of Planet India should. India is going to get them in line!.... but it just doesn't seem to be working for India, does it?

Completely deranged and mentally unwell. I think it is immoral that people are legally and medically having their delusions validated - how are they supposed to touch base with reality after all that?

GuardianLions · 09/01/2018 12:18

Also, I think I would find India quite physically intimidating. India knows that in a fist fight India would win against any of those women there, so do the women (biology).

MrGHardy · 09/01/2018 12:44

I wonder what 1dad2kids’ opinion would be if omen of his children showed stereotypes of the other gender and was told by trans experts to consider transitioning. I wonder what his opinion would be if he were lesbian and told to suck ‘lady dick’.

DeleteOrDecay · 09/01/2018 12:59

Everyone be quiet! 1dad2kids has spoken. It's all being blown out of proportion and we women are just being hysterical \end thread.Hmm

doctorcuntybollocks · 09/01/2018 13:06

We should consider ourselves honoured.

OlennasWimple · 09/01/2018 13:35

I'm not watching CBB, but presumably Genuwine will now be branded transphobic and will be no-platformed because of his nasty bigoted views? No? Is that only something that happens to lesbians who don't want to date transwomen? Hmm
