And mumsnet seems to be one of the few places women's voices are being heard on this. I'm fairly new hear myself but it seems friendly here

Welcome welcome! Smile

Enough with the kissing, Lily. You aren't 12

Doing it deliberately to piss off women IMO.

He will often just appear out of nowhere on twitter if you mention him, within a short space of time. You don't have to @ him. How? Is there some kind of alert you can set up?

The begging for money posts seem to have disappeared from Twitter. Somebody must have pointed out that it’s a no no.

Twitter notifies you if you get 'mentions'.

Yes, you can set Twitter alerts for particular words and phrases. But with so many alerts, it must be tough to focus on school or work.

DW I still have the screenshots as I'm sure do plenty of others.

I do have more but there's a limit of 3 for posting images Smile

Thank you all for the welcomes - I feel a bit giddy!

Thanks for the offer of a beverage - mine's a pint of tea.

Autocor rectangular. Right, I just tried to type 'autocorrect' and look what it does.

I was born a woman with a vagina, uterus and ovaries.
I can’t get pregnant so how the living fuck someone with a penis and testicles thinks they can I don’t know.

Weezol

Most of the women on FWR are are united over this front. And more and more women are seen the damage being done.

FWR is indeed a friendly place. My favourite place. But it’s not a walkover. On many other feminist issues it can be quite robust!

I just went and read her Twitter stream and then wished I hadn’t.

What really strikes me is that she thinks that the only issues women face are around sexual harassment and the gender pay gap.

There is no recognition of the things that really affect the day to day lives of lost women to do with their biology: pregnacy, miscarriage, infertility, PCOS, menopause, cervical/ovarian/uterine/breast cancer, periods, child birth, breastfeeding, PND etc. The kind of stuff the half the active threads on this site are talking about.

That’s even before you get to things like wife work and some of the other stuff associated with gender roles that TIMs don’t have to deal with because they haven’t been socialised from an early age to facilitate others needs before their own and be kind and helpful.

Lily only sees the tip of the iceberg. What lies beneath the facade of performing the role of woman is what will sink her as a women’s officer.

Maybe the Labour Party don't really want to improve the lives of women? So they get an uninformed muppet to run the show and distract everyone?

Report
NannyOggsKnickers · 11/12/2017 19:19

For example, how could she respond to me if I went in as a constituent and wanted to talk about the discrimination and pressure I faced at work after my miscarriage. Or the fact I feel trapped in my job while I’m waiting to get pregnant again. How does she have the life skills to deal with these questions?
Because it is important that she can deal with stuff like that sensitively. The kind of stuff that women don’tikento talk about openly in front of men.

Lily’s Twitter feed reminds me of Trump’s. If the Labour Party want her to be a poster child, maybe they need to remove her phone before something worse happens.

One of her fan club was suggesting she could be the first trans prime minister the other day..... I fell about laughing then I remembered Trump Sad

Can you imagine a woman screwing up the courage to approach the Labour Party (with a view to changing laws) to beg them to do something about forced marriages, marital rape, financial abuse, physical & mental abuse, forced abortion/pregnancies etc and being introduced to Lilly in her fabulous constituency office?

In my mind she wouldn't really listen, get bored, possibly get embarrassed at 'wimmins things' and giggle, them ask what the trans issue was there? Possibly later put out a highly identifiable tweet saying how hard it was for poor old Lil to listen to people whinging when life was soooo hard for fabulous Lilly xxx.

I really hope that he steps up to the plate (and away from his cheerleaders) and does some good.

If the Labour Party want her to be a poster child...

...they have made a massive mistake.

They may, have just about got away with a transwoman. But not some greenhorn who doesn’t know he’s arse from his elbow and comes across as a complete, gullible fool.

Zero savvy. Zero smarts. Just a fingers-in-the-ears, teen twit.

WTAFisthisshit Hanson would have to say they were transwomen these days. Can't be male with long hair!! It must mean they are female inside (all in the name of breaking down gender roles of course Hmm)

Panorama (currently on) investigating mesh for incontinence / prolapse would be a good education. 64,000 women suing one manufacturer for knowing the risks and going ahead to market without telling.

TBF to Lily there to seem to be several trans identifying males who genuinely believe that cross sex hormones and surgery will literally turn them into a woman who will menstruate can become pregnant etc. I'll see if I can find a link
