Are there any links to her previous less than polite tweets? I imagine they've been deleted by now? But are there any articles with screenshots?

a Twitter account from 2013, when she would have been 15, with her former name attached to it. The line goes that the account had a rape joke on it ... Madigan has denied authorship and claimed the account was set up maliciously by someone other than her. But frankly, regardless of who wrote it, it’s time to reconsider the now-established routine of searching through the juvenilia of someone’s internet history to undermine them in the present.

Megan Nolan realises the Lily Madigan probably was responsible for the account, blinds herself to awareness that this would mean Lily Madigan was lying, and goes for the "well, who cares anyway?" approach.

That article is a fine example of handmaidenism.

Euch, that article. So 15 is young enough to be excused for making jokes about being the apprentice of a prolific sex offender, but at 19 -a mere four years later -Madigan has matured enough to take on the role of women's officer. That is despite the fact that he blamed that account on his brother rather than just coming clean, apologising and stating that his thoughts have evolved and matured since then. Okay.

I've been thinking about this. This generation seems to have complete belief that they can do anything they want to do. With no scruples about whether or not they are suitable, have talent, are the right sex etc.

Maybe it's the end result of encouraging our children that they can do anything they put their minds to.

Honestly, I think this is Lily right now. It's a reality TV ambition all this, for Lily. Nothing to do with politics or principle. Just an immature narcissistic desire for notoriety and attention. It's sad, really, and I think we would all agree on this if it wasn't for the fact that the whole thing has been harnessed by anti-woman ideologues for genuine political aims.

From that point, it was like a cascade of ideas came into focus for me. I had small epiphanies about how this all impacted civil rights. The transgender politics and policies have the potential to undo civil rights for all people. If civil rights are not based on material reality, then anyone anywhere can undo them and change them. This seemed extremely dangerous to me. When that idea hit me, it was like a sucker punch; it was the pulling of the thread that began to unravel the tapestry of transgender ideology.

As an aside, the article I linked to above was posted on FB by a very immature male friend of my sister's. Angry, privileged, politically active, deliberately confrontational. If he doesn't transition in the next few years I will be very surprised....

Also disappointed with Angela Rayners 'keeping the bench warm' tweet. Regardless of whether she is trans or not, Lily Madigan does not have the skills needed to be an effective MP.
