Do you think some of the driver for "a woman is anyone who says they are a woman" is to do with bad science teaching in the US?

Just reading this thread on Reddit and loads of the posts are very scientifically naive. I can't decide if posters are being disingenuous or are just very uneducated about basic science.
It got me wondering whether the American thing of teaching creationism as equally valid a theory as evolution has generally undermined science and critical thinking.

Long term gender dysphoria is the criteria. Who's angry? The frustration is coming from the people arguing me, reporting my comments and resorting to jokes because they don't have anything else to say :(

It's interesting. Does the lion decide to grow his mane and that's what make him male? How would that work? Or does gender only determine biological sex in humans? Have we somehow evolved ourselves out of biology by the power of mind over matter? If lions thought hard enough, they could get rid of that pesky mane and be lionesses yes?

Male, penis, XY (even if surgically modified). Includes men and trans women.
Female, vulva, XX (even if surgically modified). Includes women and trans men.
Intersex - people with chromosomal or genital abnormalities.
