Thanks Jenni, for your bravery in speaking the truth

Thanks for organising the letter. I have emailed the Times, Woman's Hour and complained to the BBC this morning. So brave of Jenni.

I am Jenni Spartacus.

Satishouse · 07/03/2017 13:26

Oh Julie Bindel! What a brilliant interview! Love it

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 07/03/2017 13:35

My complaint to the BBC. I will post the reply I receive.

Complaint Summary: Complaining you have given Jenni Murray a warning

Full Complaint: I am writing to express my deep disquiet about the fact you have given Jenni Murray a warning about being impartial following her article on transpeople and woman's issues. Her article was thoughtful, caring, supportive of trans people, well-researched...everything you should expect of a senior BBC presenter. What it was not, was silenced into meekly accepting a position -that transwomen are women - which the vocal and forceful transactivist community have been trying to impose by bullying, abusing and threatening anyone who dares challenge it. The backlash she has received online amply makes my point.

You have warned her for not being impartial on a controversial issue. Does this mean to say you think the impartial approach is to accept the proposition that transwomen are women? This would be to ignore science, biology, linguistics....everything. That position is akin to the Emperor's new clothes. A woman is an adult human female. She has XX chromosomes. THAT is the impartial truth and for the BBC to fail to recognise this is terrifying. You are supporting the misogynistic bullies of the transactivism movement and ignoring the reality of half the population.

I expect better of you as an institution. I ask that the warning should be rescinded.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 07/03/2017 13:39

I am Jenni Murray.

I thought the article was well written. I didn't agree with every point she made but I certainly don't think she should have been disciplined in any way.

Satishouse · 07/03/2017 13:56

The interesting thing about the sky interview with Julie Bindel is that Julie enters into the interview on full throttle, giving it both barrels to the transwoman, Jane. Jane, the transwoman in a bid to appear feminine and coquettish (note how she speaks and places her hands) comes across as completely ineffectual and weak against Julie. Very interesting

MinimumPaymentMaximumBurrito · 07/03/2017 13:57

I can't believe that that TA tells Julie Bindel that her experience of being no-platformed, etc isn't real! Breathtaking arrogance.

And that the MTF are "scared" of Jenni Murray? FFS. Talk about idiocy.

What the fuck have and do we women live with every day? As Julie pointed out. Julie, you did speak for me in your royal "we"

Pigeggs666 · 07/03/2017 13:58

I've been discussing this with various lefty misogynist men on twitter all morning, under my real identity, but luckily (?) I'm unemployed so they can't get me sacked lol. Sick of it. Not gonna keep quiet anymore

CoolCarrie · 07/03/2017 13:58

Just got a standard reply from The BBC, saying the complaint will be looked at tomorrow. Let's see what happens when they see just how many of us let our feelings be known!

Bambambini · 07/03/2017 14:07

Julie was great - as was the anchor who seemed to agree with her.

seafoodeatit · 07/03/2017 14:11

I'm writing a complaint to the bbc too, those better with tech then me which category did you choose for what is the complain about? I'm not sure which it applies to.

KindDogsTail · 07/03/2017 14:13

Well done, Jenni.

hazeyjane · 07/03/2017 14:15

Just watched the Julie Bindel interview, may have whooped a bit.

aginghippy · 07/03/2017 14:16

It pisses me off that it's always middle aged or older women who get targeted in this way.

Why hasn't any 'transphobic' middle aged man been trolled had their job threatened?

Terfinator · 07/03/2017 14:19

I've also written to 'Loose Women' to complain about India's ageist misogynistic behavior on Twitter. I wonder what response I'll get!

LumelaMme · 07/03/2017 14:20

sea, I think I just bunged my complaint under 'General BBC' because if you said Radio 4 it then asked you which programme and which episode and so on - it was a rather rubbish system to wade through as if you wanted to change anything (having worked how it forced you down a particular route) you had to start all over again.

It took me three goes. Blush

NamechangeSpartacusMurray · 07/03/2017 14:23

Well done to Julie Bindel. Have also emailed the bbc in complaint.

seafoodeatit · 07/03/2017 14:23

"Is your complaint addressed by the following?

SS-GB, BBC One, 19 February 2017
Sounds of the 60s, BBC Radio 2"

NO! I hate technology. @LumelaMme I think it's going to take me more!

Riversleep · 07/03/2017 14:28

I wonder its worth contacting Rachel Cohen at Stonewall and asking her to explain how denying women's experiences, biology and safety is 'respecting their identity and experiences'?

seafoodeatit · 07/03/2017 14:31

@riversleep would there be any point? I thought stonewall had essentially become all about the trans agenda.

Elendon · 07/03/2017 14:51

Julie Bindel was brilliant. I'm sure she reads mumsnet. Jayne Fae obviously doesn't.

Have written letter of complaint to the BBC and have emailed support of Jenni Murray to Women's Hour. I shall scream and scream until I'm sick and stamp my little girlie feet and pound my little girlie fists if Murray is sacked because of this.

Terfinator · 07/03/2017 14:54

Someone raised a good point on Twitter: Gary Linekar didn't get a warning when he spoke up for refugees, so why is Jenni getting one?

Riversleep · 07/03/2017 15:11

Probably not seafood. Hopefully a light will be shone on these peoples agenda's. They are a tiny minority of trans women who in themselves are a tiny minority. who are hostile and aggressive to women. They and their supporters need to be openly and publicly confronted and challenged on their behaviour and be forced to reveal their true agenda. They need to be made to explain why it is not enough for them to be equal but different, and why they feel the need to trample over the rights of women.

fruitlovingmonkey · 07/03/2017 15:13

I'm Jenni Murray.
I've had enough of this shit. Complaining to the BBC now.
