Apologies if there has already been a thread on this.

Bj strap

I actually don't know what to say about this.

This thread is years old and inactive. If you've found this page in search of Ann Summers products that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best Ann Summers sex toys useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ 💐

I've read most of the thread, and apologise if I'm repeating anything that's been said, but the issue here isn't about what women like or don't like - the issue is that there are some men out there who get off on shoving their dicks down women's throats so that they either gag or have to suppress their gag reflex, and they enjoy it so much they've even invented a product for them. That is abusive misogynistic behaviour. Who could trust a man who orgasms from doing something like this? If someone asked me to shove a cucumber down their throat because they'd really, really enjoy it, the answer would be no. You just don't do things like that. What sort of person would be willing to risk damaging the very delicate tissues of the throat just because sexual excitement might be a possibility?

So if we're talking about anybody we need to talk about the men who do this and what the hell they think they're up to. Because there's no excuse for them.

The other thing worth bearing in mind is that feminism stands against male abuse of women in all it's forms including the ritualised, fetishised abuse of BDSM.

Also - the thing about how it won't mess a woman's hair? It's the same kind of line some men feed women about how swallowing ejaculate will be good for their skin. A piece of BS to keep the ladies happy and still willing to suck cock.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 15:55

i cant answer for 1

but asexualit or homosexuality is surely proof of nature? inspire of social conditing they still abstain or reject hetrosexuali and stay true to what their own natural desire is

nature doesn't mean not unique

nature still makes us differently

VictorGollancz · 23/03/2012 15:55

Sorry - the biology and hormones aren't discredited.

The 'normal' stuff is. Which Seahouses hasn't said. Sorry for confusion!

OTheHugeManatee · 23/03/2012 15:56

Actually, humans aren't unique in having recreational sex. Bonobos do it too (though I don't think they use BJ straps).

SeaHouses · 23/03/2012 15:57

Yes, Victor, I agree. The biological element is various hormonal releases. The particular acts are a consequence of the social environment.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 15:57

I have no idea what's going on anymore!

VictorGollancz · 23/03/2012 15:59

In fact, the whole 'it's normal to get your jollies in THIS way, and don't argue' is really what's brought about this entire thread.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 15:59

Ohthehuge

Dolphins too

SeaHouses · 23/03/2012 16:05

They have sex that is not PIV, Sunshine.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 16:06

How about this;
Gabriel, a chimpanzee at the Southwest National Primate Research Center, is said to have a shoe fetish (or possibly a leather fetish) according to caretaker Bert Barrera, and it is reported that[53]
Gabe has a shoe fetish; he once found an opening in his enclosure that was large enough to grab a caretaker's foot and he held on until she relinquished a boot.

Nyac · 23/03/2012 16:09

Did we just forget to talk about the men who like gagging women on their penises? Because I looked, and I didn't see them getting much of a mention on here.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 16:10

SeaHouses

I'm sorry but could you expand on that?

LineRunner · 23/03/2012 16:14

The bonobo question includes observations by anthropologists of infertile (ie juveniles) copulating with adults, as well as some same-sex activity. It was thought to have been about cementing the group, amongst some academic circles.

There are critiques of this.

SeaHouses · 23/03/2012 16:14

Well that is clearly social then Starwisher; the shoes are part of the society the chimp is in. They're not an innate part of chimpanzeeness.

Nyac, I don't think we can go about criticising men for using these items. The responsibility must lie entirely with women and their shiny hair obsession. To suggest men have any part in this is just wild feminist extremism.

SeaHouses · 23/03/2012 16:16

Starwisher, I could expand but only if i looked it up on wikipedia. I don't know much about bonobos.

Nyac · 23/03/2012 16:17

You're probably right SeaHouses.

I'm sure there's absolutely no male audience for Gag on my Cock 54 - the only people watching will be women wanting to pick up hairdressing tips.

The choking, sometimes vomiting women are just a side show, and the penises don't even exist really, certainly not attached to men making choices to do these things to women.

Nyac · 23/03/2012 16:18

Do bonobos "fuck" each other's faces (as someone so charmingly put it upthread) then?

LineRunner · 23/03/2012 16:18

All our observations of 'nature' are influenced by our own cultural beliefs, even or own 'scientific' ones.

I think it is useful to critique sexual advertising and sex toys, because of the potential role in the transmission of the cultural acceptance of stuff such as the image of men who - as Nyac rightly emphasises are the focus of this thread, surely - like women gagging on their penises.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 16:19

Seahorse

  1. No I don't agree. The shoe is part of society, but the fetish clearly belongs to the nature of the monkey

Otherwise shoe companies would be sponsoring zoos

  1. Your dolphin comment was ambiguous
Nyac · 23/03/2012 16:20

It's easier to talk about animals, than to talk about real men, making real choices to force their penises, either consensually or not, down real women's throats.

Starwisher · 23/03/2012 16:20

Animals do perform oral sex

Nyac · 23/03/2012 16:21

MrsArchieTheInventor · 23/03/2012 16:21

Starwisher - really??? Shock

SeaHouses · 23/03/2012 16:22

A chimpanzee is not a monkey. It can't be part of its nature to have a fetish for shoes, because chimpanzees evolved in an environment in which shoes did not exist. Chimpanzees could have a natural desire to have a fetish for objects in general, but the focus on shoes in particular is a consequence of society.
