yay just came to find the thread... agree it does seem a lot harder, have got 4

Myfanwyprice · 08/11/2017 11:18

That is hard, only 3 so far!

TinyTear · 08/11/2017 11:19

Got to 6, but can't spend too long on it today.

Will be asking for clues when I get half way by myself
:-)

Aimtomisbehave · 08/11/2017 11:46

I agree - much harder! only 3 here so far

thetemptationofchocolate · 08/11/2017 13:30

I am up to 8 but getting really stuck now.

BlueEyeshadow · 08/11/2017 13:33

I'm up to 11, but that's taken a lot of googling!

WillWorkForShoes · 08/11/2017 14:23

I've got 7. Normally I can get at least half without having to google. It's tough this year.

Myfanwyprice · 08/11/2017 14:41

I’m up to 6, but my goodness, what a struggle!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/11/2017 14:52

Am up to 9. That included Googling one sign, and then checking to see if it was a book. Had never heard of it, despite it being on a shortlist Blush

Only 11 more to go!

Well, now I'm off to google all the signs!

I looked at Waterstones best sellers list and looked if any of the titles fitted. I got a couple that way!

BlueEyeshadow · 08/11/2017 16:47

I've got to 15 by googling lots of award longlists and squinting at the titles a bit laterally. Some seem rather a stretch to me.

BlueEyeshadow · 08/11/2017 17:23

OK. This is the last clue and it's driving me nuts. Has anyone got the one that looks like a girl, or someone with a ponytail, using a computer?

WillWorkForShoes · 08/11/2017 17:52

Has anyone got the one that looks like a girl, or someone with a ponytail, using a computer?

Yes, it's a rather literal translation and it IS a girl.

BlueEyeshadow · 08/11/2017 17:55

Thank you!

toffeepumpkins · 08/11/2017 19:16

I do it each year but so far I don't know any of them :-(

TinyTear · 08/11/2017 20:21

Only just have 7

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/11/2017 21:32

WillWork It's the one that looks like the Essex Country shield. It's not Essex, though..

Toffee However, Chelmsford IS in Essex.

Still don't get the girl at the computer. Will keep thinking.

Has anyone got the life preserver one?

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/11/2017 22:28

Too - it's a synonym on what's written on it together with a sort of synonym for what it is.

Am sure that's as clear as mud!

OP posts:
strawberrypenguin · 08/11/2017 22:32

time the girl is at the computer - therefore the girl is ......

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/11/2017 22:35

Is it a new book or classic or somewhere in between?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/11/2017 22:39

Got it! That’s me got them all, with much Googling.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/11/2017 22:39

The girl is accessing the world wide web.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 09/11/2017 00:19

I'm on 14 but have come to a standstill. The music one is driving me mad.

BlueEyeshadow · 09/11/2017 07:47

You need to enlarge the music one and look at the notes which are different.
