it's a non-fiction book published by a young female writer....

I think I'm going insane with the lifebelt/lifebuoy/lifering/life preserver/lifesaver one. I cannot think of any more synonyms for the word or the object and I'm going stark raving mad.

Finally got the life preserver one! and feel very silly for not thinking of it!.
Orchard is driving me crazy - my search history is now full of iphone accessories but not quite what I was after!!

I can't get the boy eating oranges.

I'm sitting here in a bookshop, surrounded by children's books, and I cannot get it.

with the lifepreserver one - it's a shortened synonym for the life preserver (that's where i was going wrong). And spelled differently

Ah thanks Aim, got it. That clue is a bit of a stretch though.

Just got the music one too, I actually said "oh bloody hell" out loud when i got it.

Just Amsterdam left for me now.

aim the Orchard one is rather simple. You've already got Apple, so think about what the grow on and how far 36inches is. google it if necessary

Amsterdam - I'll give you a LITTLE clue if you like...

I only have one to get! The boy eating an orange! It's driving me mad.

finally - to anyone else stuck on Orchard. If you're using measurement in feet, think again!

Ah, sad that's over for another year.

just Amsterdam left

What member of your household is likely to be called Fluffy?

Oops, sorry

Thanks anyway. If anyone lives near Banbury is Oxford the cafe called Little Amsterdam looks like it does amazing pancakes! (doesn't appear to be a name of a book though!)

I got the Amsterdam one by googling for books set there. The title doesn't specifically relate.

Blue Thank you! I didn't think to look at it that way

OMG I am getting so frustrated with the life buoy one. No matter how much googling I do for synonyms I just cannot get it.

Also can't get the girl at the computer, the lightning man, the one with the 3 street names or the smiling/laughing one.

I need better clues!

The email one is a link you are emailed once you've completed the 20 questions.

Is it a children's book? (Had flash of inspiration earlier...)

I've just had a flash of inspiration of who the girl at the computer author might be. She's a bit of a big hit with teenagers.

Report
soupforbrains · 09/11/2017 14:57

susurration yes I think you're on the right track with that. it's her book.

the 3 street names try googling WHAT Georgette, Damask etc are....

the life buoy one drove me mad. I think it's a stupid clue even now I've got it, pm me if you want more help.

Lighting man is a bit vague, it's nothing to do with the man or really the picture. that sort of sign is usually near electricity. so think what another word for electricity is.

time I'm a bit baffled by it too I feel like it's a children's book I sort of keep getting half memories that disappear when I notice them... sort of images that won't come into focus.

Ok, fab. SO I've got the computer one, bloody finally. Barely a book tbh!

I know Damask etc are fabrics, and I tried The Dressmaker and The Seamstress, but neither is correct.

The lightning man, something do to do with power stations?

I'm going to have to PM you about the lifebuoy!

Thank you.

TinyTear · 09/11/2017 15:13
