I like to experiment but nothing beats cooking an 'any day Roast' for my boy, I'm lucky he loves his vegetables and it's his favourite meal. It makes it all the more special when we can do on a Sunday and have his grandparents over too Smile

When we holiday with friends it always has to be Jambalya. It's so easy to make and yet utterly delicious. There are so many variations and I always make two panfuls. One for the children (and adults who don't have an adventurous palate!) and one super-spicy pan for the foodies.

I love to cook a roast dinner with all the trimmings

FireflyGirl · 15/03/2017 19:33

My little boy loves spaghetti bolognese, Chili and anything with chick peas, so I try and include these in my weekly meal planning.

My husband is a great cook, I cannot really compete, but I do make great salads, and I bake. My husband and son particularly enjoy my banana bread and Scandinavian cinnamon buns.

FeelingSmurfy · 15/03/2017 21:59

Well I enjoy cooking savoury dishes as well as sweet dishes, and the family enjoy what I cook but they all have ultra sweet teeth!

Any type of sponge goes down well, chocolate tiffin, flapjacks, coconut ice, fudge...

I think the favourite would just be anything homemade, I think it's because of the special ingredient - an overflowing cup full of love Wink that and being able to tailor it to suit all the fussy eaters

Cranberry and choc orange cookies for when the DCs head off to rugby training I swap half the flour for oats to give then a bit more energy

sootyo · 16/03/2017 19:43

Welsh cakes, yum.

IlsaLund · 16/03/2017 20:01

Fish Pie - it's a hybrid of Mary Berry and Jamie Oliver recipes.
For dessert gingered bread and butter pudding.

The most requested snack in this house is blue cheese scones.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 16/03/2017 20:15

When DD1 comes home, she always wants either roast dinner or some sort of curry feast. DD2 is happiest when whatever I cook involves either pasta with lots of cheese, or rice and a free hand with the soy sauce!

For dessert, crumbles and trifle always go down well.

Laska5772 · 16/03/2017 20:30

Home made breads and buns..
often with names and initials on such as these Hot cross Initial Buns!

Also I am requested to make home made lemonade on holiday every year (from the lemons in the garden of the house we stay in) . Takes hours (as I have to do it all by hand) and can be drunk in minutes

Homemade Spaghetti bolognese, pizza, lasagne, calzone, Peru peri wedges, Indian roast chicken, Rachel Allan's spicy Moroccan chickpea soup with pitta bread wedges.

hutchy73 · 17/03/2017 07:43

Sunday roast with all the trimmings followed by treacle sponge and custard . Eaten with all the family

KTD1230 · 17/03/2017 11:37

I bake cakes for my family on a regular basis. Their faves are lemon drizzle cake & chocolate and banana loaf. I also make celebration cakes for special occasions. I most recently made a baby shower cake for my sister in law.

I cook a mean roast dinner every week for the 4 growing males in my home! I can never believe how much food they can consume!

glad25 · 17/03/2017 18:25

roast lamb dinner we all love it

stewaris · 17/03/2017 19:56

I cook 2 different dishes depending. If it's for the family them it has to be macaroni cheese. We all love it. If people are coming them it has to be guiness beef casserole. Yummy!

Thirdload · 18/03/2017 08:56

Some of my best dishes are from the slow cooker. My family's favourites are pulled pork, Mexican chicken, or beef stew, anything with tender meat.

Khaleesi1315 · 18/03/2017 12:38

I love to cook especially dishes where I can pretend that I actually know what I'm doing tossing things in a flipping them about but the dish I cook for those I love would be home made macaroni and cheese finished off in the oven with grated cheese to make a crust 😍

sparky771177 · 18/03/2017 14:50

Irish Stew every time.

user1488581520 · 18/03/2017 20:57

Vegetarian lasagne with lots of salad.

Catinthecorner · 18/03/2017 21:15

I love to cook and enjoy hosting friends for supper and I would never serve this to guests but I'm going to say my mum's soup. It tastes of love. She's long dead now and it's really too thick to count as soup but she made an amazing ham, veg and barley soup. It's a bit of an oddity in that her mother made the exact same soup but we could taste the difference from 'Mam's Soup' and 'Nana's Soup'. My sister and I both make it now and again we can taste who made it - proving love must be one of the prime ingredients! I make it in winter when I need a hug and it takes me right back to my childhood (even if it's not as good as the one she made).

sten147 · 19/03/2017 08:27

We are all coeliacs and so homemade is mostly what I do. I do a fabulous meat and potato pie.

Flowerpower222 · 19/03/2017 15:13

My family love Moroccan food so I spoil them with a chicken tagine (although some of them have been known to pick out the olives!)

mishknight · 19/03/2017 18:03

Lots of things: Sausage casserole, chicken stir fry, spaghetti bolognese, curry, and roast dinner
