for the people I love the most I make homemade lasagne with homemade garlic bread then toffee pavlova for dessert

Traditional roast dinners; fish pie - ours is gluten and dairy free of necessity and is my mother's recipe - smoked haddock, eggs, and a white sauce made with mustard and a good dollop of mayonaisse at the end, no extra topping. Another favourite is a risotto made in our rice cooker - throw everything in with oil for a bit, then add water or stock and leave till done!

I don't eat meat, but I do really enjoy cooking things like beef stews and roasts for my little family because they all really enjoy it, and that gives me a great deal of pleasure.

Happy to say that my beef stroganoff made with low-fat crème fraiche instead of sour cream ;) is always a hit with my family. With delicious green beans on the side, and served over bowtie pasta, it's a dish they ask me to make all the time!

I make a big pot of pea soup like my mum used to, using ham stock, dried peas (soaked),onions, carrots and celery. With nice crusty bread, it's one of the few things everyone will eat.

The first meal i ever cooked my now Husband was a steak and ale pie. It totally won him over and he still says it was the best meal of his life (note that i'm fairly sure it wasn't as i was a poor student so doubt the meat was that top quality!)...

Anyway, whenever hubby needs cheering up or if he has been away with work a long time, i always resort to cooking him my Steak and Ale pie. I make the pastry by hand and he loves it. Reminds us of when we first fell in love 11 years ago (!).

I am frequently asked to make lasagne, twice cooked cheese soufflés, asparagus quiche, slow cooked lamb shanks in red wine with mash and apparently my roast potatoes are the best. Not such a stealth boast...

I love cooking a huge lasagna for my family. I do two different types to keep it interesting - a regular vegetarian one and a green vegetarian one. Definitely a favourite in our house!

The first meal I ever cooked for my husband was lasagne and now it's one of the few meals that the whole family (dh plus 3 kids) all enjoy. But I also love to bake cakes, particularly birthday cakes, and always try meet their requests!

I love to cook a range of dishes from around the world. My daughter loves toad in the hole and risotto. We really love cooking together and her specialty if hedgehog bread.

Has to be a full roast with all the trimmings , has all the family running to the table....always do a sherry trifle for afters but there is rarely room left for it !

Food For Heroes.

This takes a bit of time, but it really is food for heroes.

Before you go to bed, soak and hydrate some dry beans.

In the morning, before you go to work, chop and slowly fry some onions. Then add garlic, chilli and ginger. Then add pimenton, cayenne pepper and turmeric. Stir slowly and enjoy the aroma.

Then add in the beans, as many tomatoes as you can afford and a potato.

Let it all cook for 45 minutes and then remove the tomatoes and potato and some of the liquid to crush and mix into a rich paste.

Then add that to the other ingredients, season to taste and enjoy!

I make different casseroles, soups and bolognese. All my family's favourites! And I always make extra for those days I'm at work and I just have time to heat something up in the evening. I also make cakes and biscuits!

When I can't be bothered to cook a Sunday roast I make a big shepherds pie, as it is a family favourite here, served with fresh runner beans and a big bowl of roast potatoes on the side. I know that's double potatoes but we love them!!

We all love haggis! Not that I cook it from scratch...

The whole family will be here next weekend & I'm going to try Delia's haggis pie - basically haggis neeps & tatties in layers, like a cottage pie, so easy to scale up.

I cook healthy food for my family. I don't buy ready made sauces full of who knows what and I always look for a whole grain, low sugar alternatives. My kids moan, but I'm hoping in the long run, they will realise how much of my love for them goes into what is on their plates.

I have a HATE for Baked Beans that could end the world. The tomato sauce, the smushy bean. The kind of hate that makes me scream and run for the tap if a drop of juice touches my skin and me gag and heave when the smell hits my nose.
But oh my little girls love their baked beans. So I power through and open those tins anyway.
For me, that's the most loving thing I do in the kitchen. Everything else I cook is actually fun for me 😂
