I'm already a member of ww online I have the app and just getting used to the new smart points system! Like a refresh think it will be good to do something new again!

Bought a fit bit with xmas money and had it two days love it already! It updates activity points onto the ww app though I won't be eating these.

Hi! Had an ok weekend better than usual actually.

Was a party on Friday but counted all my vodkas and diet cokes and when the buffet came I updated that to my app too which is a first for me! Grin I just stick to roast beef salads pickled onions etc and was still nice!

Had a sneaky peek at scales and on track to lose this week if I keep it up.

Early hours at work had a Babybel light and jelly / cup of tea. Been sleeping all day really had cup of tea, 2x oat cakes with chive light spread , mini sausage roll (the tiny ones) and for dinner half a thin goodfellas pizza with salad.

Will take an apple to work since I'm not great on the fruit front and need to try harder.

Well done everyone on all the losses and thank you for the tips. I week plan my dinners and work everything doing dinner so think that helps.

Well done everyone! I don't know why but I've just completely stuffed my face Confused Weigh in is tomorrow morning so I'm stuffed in more ways than one! Ah well, all I can do is to keep trying. Onward and downward!

Shoveyergrannyaffabus · 18/01/2016 20:29

I've had a good day today finally. I think the trick for me is to have a big evening meal so I'm not hungry the rest of the evening. So, lots and lots of veg to bulk it out.

I still haven't weighed myself and don't even have a starting weight. It seems to be a bit of a mental barrier actually standing on the scales. I don't want to do it until I know I'm under 14 stone

Shoveyergrannyaffabus · 18/01/2016 20:30

Good luck for your weigh in tomorrow Dotty

Miffytastic · 18/01/2016 21:52

Lost 1.5 lbs, but still 1.5 up on the weight I was the week before Christmas...

Really want a Fitbit but can't afford one :(

poorpaws · 19/01/2016 00:18

Well I for one am very impressed with our losses this week so far. I think we are doing brilliantly between us. Well done to everyone.

Another tip from me - if you feel you have "only" lost a pound, Google "show me a pound of fat" and you might get be surprised how much that is (a tallish mug full). It might just make you realise it's still a very good loss.

gamerwidow · 19/01/2016 08:49

Miffy I've just bought a Fitbit flex for £38 from eBay so if that's more in your budget it might be worth looking there?

Miffytastic · 19/01/2016 11:09

Ooh that's not bad, I fancy a one, or a zip, but struggling to justify it at the moment...

How are you finding it, have you had it long? Does it make you do more?

dottyaboutstripes · 19/01/2016 11:51

I agree about losing "only a pound", it's fantastic and they all add up!
Well I gained 1.5lbs after my Monday madness. Ffs am really annoyed with myself! I'm 2lbs over goal so it's not the end of the world.
I need to meal plan but am a bit skint so need to use up what I have, trying to only do small fruit & veg top up shopping. Tonight I'm having courgetti bolognese, tomorrow sausage & mash though I generally have 1 sausage and loads of veg on the side.

Juliecloud · 19/01/2016 16:43

Well done everyone!

I lost 3lb in my first week. However, I have already eaten all my weekly points and I've still got 2.5 days to go!!! I had a takeaway on Friday night and was out for dinner on Sunday. I tried to point as best I could but it's hard when you are just guessing. Hopefully I over estimated!!

fireandblood · 19/01/2016 17:01

I was going to say check eBay as well. I paid for a flex in the currys sale but they gave me charge instead .. So I got a charge at flex sale price Smile I really think they are worth it though love mine.

I am making sausage and veg one pan roast from the ww website tonight for 8sp! It smells lovely so far. There is some really good recipes on the website

That's a good meal plan to claw it back , I'm not sure if I would like courgette spaghetti does it taste like the real thing at all in sauxe?

OP posts:
dottyaboutstripes · 19/01/2016 17:41

I've only had it once and it was ok, I like vegetables though so maybe that's why! Pasta is quite pointy though so it's worth it for the saving (also we have masses of courgettes due to dh and I both buying them to try out the new spiralizer!)

gamerwidow · 19/01/2016 18:02

Still waiting for my flex to be delivered should be here tomorrow so I shall update Smilecooked the pear blueberry and honey muffins at the weekend and they are great for only 3sp. Dd and dh loved them too.

Shoveyergrannyaffabus · 19/01/2016 18:23

No point soup for tea tonight as I have overdone lunch. At least I did a couple hours of walking to make up for it. I've also created a Pinterest board for inspiration but so far all I have in it is a picture of Sophie Dahl. She is so beautiful and elegant

justkeeponsmiling · 19/01/2016 19:16

Hi all, please can I join?
I started WW online two and a bit weeks ago. I have 20lb to loose.
Since the birth of my DS 6 years ago I have struggled to shift the weight I put on during pregnancy permanently, meaning I would go on "extreme" diets, loose weight successfully, then binge over a few months and put it all back on and more. I have done extreme fitness, low carbing, 5:2... I lost of weight last summer and put it all back on, plus an extra 6lbs over xmas.
I think over time this cycle of extreme dieting and binging totally messed with my sense of what to eat and portion size. I did WW 15 years ago after having DD1 and it worked really well for me so I'm hoping this time it will be the same!
I lost 5.5lb in the first week and 3lb in the second so all is going well so far. Though I am being super strict most of the time and hardly used my weeklies, and am finding it hard at times. I think it's a bit more tricky as I'm a pescetarian and only eat limites fish so loading up on low point carbs isn't always easy.

CharleyDavidson · 19/01/2016 21:38

I'd eaten all my dailies, all my weeklies AND some if not all of my fitpoints that you aren't supposed to use.

According to my home scales I lost 2lb. By the time I got to my meeting in the pm it was only a 1lb difference to last week (different clothes, different evening meal etc all adds to that but that's what comes with having to have an evening weigh in to fit in with work etc) .

Off is off though. I'm over half a stone down on what I was when I started losing weight and have lost all my Christmas weight that I put on in two weeks off, in the last two weeks.

Now I have to lose the rest.

poorpaws · 20/01/2016 00:39

Well I've really buggered the diet up today. I went out for lunch and then tonight I've eaten my body weight (nearly) in chocolate. I'm so so cross with myself I was doing well. I have no idea when these sabotage attacks are going to strike. Ah well back to the drawing board.

actiongirl1978 · 20/01/2016 09:18

Hi everyone, just wondering, does the 'no points' thing actually work? It suits me down to the ground as it contains all the foods I usually eat - my weight gain is down to extra treats and an obsession with cashew nuts (plain, not salted, but still lots of cals!).

I am on day three of the 'no point' WOE - just wondered if anyone else sticks to this? It seems too good to be true, being able to have as much skimmed milk as I like!

Charliej86 · 20/01/2016 09:57

I know of someone doing no count (well she's calling it filling & healthy as don't think she's going to meetings) and she's lost half stone in 2weeks so it can work. I used it every now and then on pp but don't feel I need to on sp.
We had takeaway pizza last nite, I knew it was happening so kept 24points. I couldn't find it on app so used Pizza Hut to track should hopefully be ok. X

actiongirl1978 · 20/01/2016 10:13

Thanks Charliej86, that gives me hope! I only got allocated 14 weekly points, so I am loathed to use them on the standard SP plan until I have to at the weekend.

Miffytastic · 20/01/2016 16:03

Hi all, well I've cracked and bought a Fitbit one Blush and also entered a 10k race in April so I'm determined to move more!

Welcome Justkeepsmiling I am a long term Ww-er, I seem to lose the same 10-20lbs over the years, I have dabbled with 5:2 but is didnt work the second time. I am really liking the smart points holistic attitude thing and determined to stick with it and not regain when I get to goal this time (fingers crossed !). I have done filling and healthy/NC actiongirl but I find pointing on SPs makes me actually consider portion sizes and sugar which is good.

On the veggie&low point carbs thing - I find I'm eating lots of veggie chilli/curry type things with quorn and beans or lentils in and then only having a spoon or two of rice or one pitta bread, ie bulking up and limiting carbs.

Miffytastic · 20/01/2016 16:03

Action how come only 14 weeklies, that seems very low??

Owllady · 20/01/2016 16:07

Well I went back and lost 1/2 lb in the first week which is quite frankly pathetic :o

justkeeponsmiling · 20/01/2016 16:35

Very jealous of your fitbit miffy , I keep wondering if getting one would encourage me to move more as I could definitely do with getting more active again. I'm very unfit at the moment.
Yes to ww having a holistic approach, I am hoping it will help me "reset" my attitude to healthy eating and portion size and help me off the starving/binging cycle long term. It'snot so much the losing of the weight, even though this is becoming harder and harder each time. It's developing a relationship with food that means I can maintain the weightloss longterm and not feel like I am missing out if that makes sense.
Fingers crossed! I like the ww slogan they had a while ago "This time lose weight for the last time", that's so true!
Once people reach their goal weight what do they normally do? I read a thread somewhere that seemed to suggest you can stay on the plan but not pay anymore as long as you stay at your goal weight? But I might have gotten the wrong end of the stick there.
Re-the carb/protein balance I think you are absolutely right, I need to cut down on the empty carb fillers and have more pulses instead. Also surprised to see how low quorn is on points, I don't usually use it very much but will definitely stok up on it now.

Shoveyergrannyaffabus · 20/01/2016 16:44

I wish grapes were cheaper, I must be spending £10 a week on that alone. I'm buying cheaper fruit and veg like bananas and carrots etc too, but I have noticed a big increase in my food bill. Oh well, it will be worth it for my family to be healthier.
