Does anyone want to join me?! Smile I need to lose 3 stone hopefully a stone and but in time for March if I can!

I'm already a member of ww online I have the app and just getting used to the new smart points system! Like a refresh think it will be good to do something new again!

Bought a fit bit with xmas money and had it two days love it already! It updates activity points onto the ww app though I won't be eating these.

Hopefully if anyone joins me we can motivate each other

So, weigh in tonight.... haven't been very disciplined this weekend - it's been DD2's birthday and party so more cake, crisps and snicker celebrations than I should have had. I have been out for a couple of runs but I don't htink that'll offset it. Hmm, reckon I'll be lucky to STS...I'll report back later

hayser33 · 15/02/2016 14:31

Halo33 here something went wrong when signing in so have had to name change etc!

Can I have some reassurance from people as I sometimes feel I must be the only one who feels like this.
I seriously really struggle to diet -I have no will power and I eat all the wrong rubbish . I want to lose a couple of stone but I just get distracted and sort of forget I'm dieting after a few days Confused
I've done ww sw and countless other diets over the years (and rejoined many times ).
I just always seem to be able to eat and I always want the wrong stuff.
Plus wine is an issue as have too much at weekends .
Does anyone else really struggle the same as me ?you all seem so very motivated and I'm starting to think I've got a problem .
I'm starting to panic that I will get bigger and bigger as this last stone had gone on since Christmas!

fireandblood · 15/02/2016 16:21

Hi I have been hiding as I've screwed up. After my weigh in last week I had chippy chips, cinema sweets and a meal at chiquitos and I've been ashamed .

There seems to be sweets constantly hanging about the house I don't even have a sweet tooth but I pick cos they are their!

Back to couch to 5k tonight and counting properly.

hayser I am by no means an expert and have tried and 'failed' at the dieting thing before. What is helping me on the whole at the minute:

  1. If I am hungry I eat but I try to eat something sensible like a banana or a low point sandwich or soup, rather than a chocolate bar.
  1. It is really important to add lots of 0 point veg to every meal. I always get complacent about that after a couple of weeks and then suddenly wonder why I'm hungry. They are not an add on, they are a crucial component of meals.
  1. I started trying to lose weight because I was feeling really ill. Since I started WW I feel so much better. I am trying to hold that motivation and think about staying fit and well to lead my daughter by example.
  1. I have an unhealthy emotional attachment to food which waxes and wanes, depending on hormones, mood, fatigue. Sometimes you have to be kind to yourself and if that means a controlled binge, then have a controlled binge. Our WW leader is very good about this - much better to have a packet of crisps and a small bar of something, then start afresh the next day. Rather than bottling it up, then having an ENORMOUS binge, then giving up completely.
  1. It is really important to have nice food. Having a really lovely, large dinner means I feel satisfied and don't crave food later on. I try to keep at least 15 points for dinner which allows a 9 point serving of rice or pasta plus meat in a tasty sauce. I HIGHLY recommend the Instant Pot - there's a huge thread in AIBU about it.
  1. Remember 80/20. I'll be weighing in shortly. I'm expecting to gain or STS because I went mad at the weekend. Today I'm back on plan though. Life happens and you have to enjoy it, just aim to make good choices 4-5 days a week and leave some wriggle room for the weekend Wink
MrsJorahMormont · 15/02/2016 16:30

fire you haven't screwed up. You've been a human being. It's allowed Wink Thanks Back on the horse!

justkeeponsmiling · 15/02/2016 20:14

Hi Squigh !
Well done on the weightloss gamer and poorpaws ! I can also report a 2lb weightloss here, despite my fish&chips with mayonnaise and curry sauce on Saturday night. I think all the walking/hiking definitely made up for the slight slip ups last week (fingers crossed it will be the same for you gamer )
Shove I made the spicy chickpeas yesterday, they were really nice thanks again! DH and DCs also really liked them (unfortunately).
My typical food day looks like this:
B: Boiled egg, toast&margarine
L: Low point soup or tuna salad
D: Regular tea I would normally cook for the family but done healthily or if it's something unhealthy/pointy like pizza I will just have a very small portion with loads of veg or a big salad.
I have about 3 cups of tea or coffee with milk throughout the day and as snacks some fruit like a banana, an apple or some 0% greek yoghurt with some honey.
I have the odd treat like a bag of crisps or a glass of wine occasionally and usually save most of my weeklies for a few drinks and a nice treat once a week.

justkeeponsmiling · 15/02/2016 20:23

fire I had a similar week a couple of weeks ago. Most important thing is to get back on the horse. It's just human isn't it?! It's so hard to do this longterm, I think a few slip-ups along the way are totally normal. Onwards and downwards!
hayser my problem is not staying motivated in the initial stage as I find the weightloss very motivating in itself but I struggle hugely with staying down once I reach my goal. I'm hoping that sticking with ww and continuing to post on here will help me. Excellent advice from MrsJorah !

MrsJorahMormont · 15/02/2016 20:43

Well done smiling! Smile

It was 0.5lbs on here, which may have been the pint of water I drank and didn't pee out in time Blush Whatever it was, I'm counting a win after the amount of food we put away at the weekend Blush Grin Wine Back on my best behaviour today and writing in my points for tomorrow tonight.

ChristmasEvePJs · 15/02/2016 21:35

I have blew it this weekend... Surprise meal out, pudding, crisps, dip and chocolate Blush.
On it again tomorrow!!! Fear a gain on Wednesday morning.

hayser33 · 15/02/2016 21:52

Mrs Jorah thankyou for your great advice i too have been feeling quite ill lately -headaches every afternoon etc. I've not been perfect today by any means but I've had no crisps chocolate or wine.
Looking forward to joining WW on Thursday night-it can't come quick enough.
One thing I won't be doing this time is buying any weight watchers cakes etc I'd rather have a proper slice of cake once a week than shoving 2 of them in a day cause I think it's 'low points 'so I can Hmm

hayser33 · 15/02/2016 21:55

And keepsmiling I wish I could get to goal Grin I lose about 5 pound each time then end up giving up ...I'm so rubbish but I have reached my weight limit this time. I call myself such horrid names I'm giving myself very low self esteem Sad

Miffytastic · 15/02/2016 22:13

Hayser/Halo - great advice from MrsJ there, do just to say I understand how you feel. I have been dieting all my adult life :( GiveSPs a chance though, as I think it does encourage you towards a lower sugar / less crap way of eating. I find drinking doesn't help - the day after I'm ravenous and eat rubbish.

Also popped on for a weigh in update: lost a pound, after staying the same for 3 week in a row. This weight loss us slow...hopefully it will stay off this time though ::crosses fingers::

hayser33 · 16/02/2016 08:06

miffytasticI am a sugar addict I think that's the problem as it's in everything.

I feel fairly motivated this morning which I didn't feel yesterday! Think I know I've got to get my act together as it's no good keep moaning about it .

hayser33 · 16/02/2016 08:10

miffytastic well done on weight loss too

fireandblood · 16/02/2016 09:42

Thank you Mrsjorahmormont... Laughing at the link between our names Wink and also just keep smiling.

I won't stop trying just so hard when you even just look at food for a split second you put on pounds.

Oh I'm really pleased you liked them Just!**

Point free Red pepper and tomato soup for lunch today. Soup is so brilliant when you're on a diet. I always make loads so I can freeze individual portions for days I can't be bothered cooking.

I made vegan brownies yesterday as I was craving something sweet which is unusual for me (usually craving crisps, chips, crisps etc). They were OK, not brilliant but baking without eggs is new to me so hopefully I'll get better.

hayser33 · 16/02/2016 21:40

Had my first weigh in tonight 'I've gained 11 pounds since beginning of December. ..I'm shocked it's that much Shock

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/02/2016 21:42

I'm on minus 14 points this week due to a blow out in Edinburgh. Two days to weight in - do I go or do I get kicked back in and leave it to next week?

poorpaws · 16/02/2016 23:11

Kendodds - I think you should go! It's so easy to get into a pattern of only going if you think you've done well. I think you need to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. 😀

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/02/2016 07:29

You're right ! I need to know the damage Shock

dottyaboutstripes · 17/02/2016 08:21

Kendodd last week I was -120 weeklies Shock but only gained 1lb, you could well sts
I don't think I've posted for a bit - I've been plodding along and maintaining really but had a big family get together yesterday and just ate what was put in front of me. Didn't track, just decided to have a day off, so will have to be sensible now until next weigh in

bettybyebye · 17/02/2016 09:12

yeah I think you should go too Ken, even if you think it might be painful!

Well I wasn't expecting a great loss yesterday, and came in at 0.5lb off which I will take considering I had a massive pancake and chocolate binge last Tuesday night and a huge meal out with cocktails on Friday night. I am determined to do better this week although we are out for another meal on Saturday night.

I find the plan really easy to stick to if I'm eating all meals at home, but the minute I eat out I struggle as everything is so high in points. Started the 30 day shred on Monday to try and help tone up - am hoping to be another 7lbs down by Easter.

Thanks to whoever recommended the stand and stuff tortillas - bought some the other day and planning on having one with pulled pork for dinner...yum!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/02/2016 11:22

It's weird but even though I'm over points I gave still made better choices than normal . I go with my friend and don't want to let her down either.

poorpaws · 17/02/2016 11:29

Help! I've woken up this morning with yet another awful sore throat and I feel terrible. Don't think Ill be able to do my usual dog walk and I know I'm too ill to do any work so I'll be bored AND THATS WHEN I OVEREAT! It's a definite duvet day with the heating on high for me and I've had a good breakfast (porridge and a banana) but I know very soon I'll be fancying all sorts of things I am not allowed. Help! 😩😂

Miffytastic · 17/02/2016 11:31

Ken - yes to going anyway, I say that as someone who has previously avoided the scales and then sunk into a bad spiral...

Well I've used up all my weeklies by the end of day 2 - had a delicious meal out last night, sort of Indian tapas. Good points were that the portions weren't huge - I had a potato based thing, chickpea-based one and an amazing daal, plus boiled rice and one roti, so all in all those things weren't too bad. But no idea what to point two chat things as... and then there were the G&Ts and the wine... So basically I've estimated it and it used up all my weeklies and evening meal allowance O_O
