Does anyone want to join me?! Smile I need to lose 3 stone hopefully a stone and but in time for March if I can!

I'm already a member of ww online I have the app and just getting used to the new smart points system! Like a refresh think it will be good to do something new again!

Bought a fit bit with xmas money and had it two days love it already! It updates activity points onto the ww app though I won't be eating these.

Hopefully if anyone joins me we can motivate each other

Thank you Miffy and Smiling I'll keep you informed on Tuesday as to how I did. Fingers crossed.

I think we are all doing well despite a little blip here and there. You are all very encouraging and it really helps.

I wonder if any of you who are struggling a little have heard of the vase of daffodils analogy. So there is a beautiful vase of fresh daffodils with just one dead one. Do you throw away the whole vase full? No of course you don't you pick out the dead one and enjoy the rest! It's the same if you struggle on one day, discard it and carry on with the diet, ie don't throw it all away for one day.

gamerwidow · 25/01/2016 07:26

Well done poorpaws. I went a bit mad last night and ate all my weeklies after being so good all week. Still today is a new start. Lost 3 lbs today and nearly half way to target. Tough week next week though as I've got some meals out coming up. I'm ordering in advance though so should be able to make some sensible choices.

KinkyAfro · 25/01/2016 10:37

Hi all, I rejoined WW on 14th Jan and am pleased to report a 6 lbs loss for my first week. Really liking SP, I'm eating so much better, less of the crap and feel much better for it. Onwards and downwards Smile

notasillysausage · 25/01/2016 10:49

1.75lbs off! It's slowing down but still happy with my progress. That's 11.75lbs so far. I wish I could fast forward the next 4.5 months to the start of June. That's my target date for getting to goal, or as close as I can get to goal before we try for our second. I don't mind dieting once I get into the swing of it, but it's such a slow process.

Miffytastic · 25/01/2016 12:25

Ooh well done people! IKWYM kinkyafro - I am definitely eating less crap on SPs

fireandblood · 25/01/2016 17:45

Love that analogy poorpaws!

Well done on losses gamerswidow and kinky that's brilliant.

I'm the same I feel really positive on so and feel like it's a much better approach.

Here's today's menu I was nightshift last night and tonight again
B- 2x warburton crumpets and bertoli light 7sp
L - Cucumber and cheese roll 7sp
D - haggis neeps and tatties of course! 9sp
S- strawberry cranachan 3sp walkers cheese and onion crisps 4sp

Terrible week. Only lost 0.1 lb. Exactly 13 stone. I did pig out all week.... And again today. Dont know what is the matter with me. Im dead good until I get home from work and then I just eat whatever is around. madness. At least I didn't gain I guess

Miffytastic · 25/01/2016 20:28

Lost 2.5lbs so now lost the weight I put on over Christmas and new year and a pound more :) Got to run up and downstairs to hit my fitbit target ...

uppity - stick with it! Are you hungry or craving things do you think?

Owllady · 25/01/2016 20:36

Uppity, could you plan ahead and have things on hand when you get home that are lower in points like making a zero point for the fridge or hummus and crudites, nice fruit etc? Olives?
Says me who has massive ability to be rubbish :o

CormoranStrike · 25/01/2016 20:52

Hello all. I am a new WWer. Three days in and I am loving it so far - I think I am counting my smart points accurately, and I have hugely upped my fruit and veg intake.

MrsJorahMormont · 25/01/2016 21:14

Hi another newbie here. I went to my first WW meeting today, got my first book and am trying to get my head around the points thing. I have a definite 'starting tomorrow' mentality and just ate 2 packets of crisps for the sake of it Hmm Blush There don't seem to be many recipes around at the minute - would anyone be interested in a smart points recipe thread?

uppitywho · 25/01/2016 21:22

thanks everyone- that's why this thread is so good , I need a kick up the arse ad get back to planning to avoid snacking , just made veg soup , so will gird my loins and start again tomorrow

MrsJorahMormont · 25/01/2016 21:39

Does anyone have the eating out guide? The new book doesn't seem to have any good Chinese takeaway options and we are supposed to be going out for a Chinese at the weekend. What are good options?

elfofftheshelf · 26/01/2016 09:31

Hi, I'm also a newbie on my second week. Weigh in tomorrow. Seriously disappointed last week as I only lost 1 pound and I felt like I had significantly changed what I eat (i.e. no crisps, biscuits etc). Leader tells me this is because I don't have a lot to lose (I reckon 20 pounds, she reckons 14 pounds) so am hoping for good news tomorrow. I'd love some smart point recipe ideas as that's where I'm struggling to find inspiration.

Owllady · 26/01/2016 09:36

Mrsjorah I don't have the eating out guide, but Chinese you are better to go for wok dishes, not fried or in that bright sauce jobs!

Miffytastic · 26/01/2016 10:02

Elf I don't think it's always a linear /7 day thing with weight loss, I've often wondered how long it takes to convert into actual fat not water loss.... Then other times I can be good overall but go out drinking on the weekend (using weeklies) and I STS or gain, but then lose the next week....stick with it!

A recipes and meal ideas thread is a good idea. I tend to make up my own curries and such like but I could try to write out the recipes :)

fireandblood · 26/01/2016 12:07

I found some good one pot sp recipes on the weight watchers website so far had one pot sausage and one pot chicken . It was hard to navigate to them though.

Low point snacks that help me are

Babybel light - 1sp
Actimel fat free - 1sp
Sugar free jelly - 0sp
Roast beef slices 1sp slice or less
Ready to eat chicken 1/2 sp
Crackerbread - 1sp with low fat spread 1/2 sp

My rescue dinners are veg soup or anything with chicken as it's such low points now chicken and a healthy side can't go wrong.

Tbh though I mostly eat my normal dinners but have healthy tweaks and reduced portion size .

1/2 should be 1-2 sp not half btw

I've ordered a Fitbit, my friend has too so we can challenge and motivate each other. She convinced me to try kettlebells today and as hard as it was I quite enjoyed it. Going to try go once a week depending on babysitters.

MrsJorahMormont · 26/01/2016 13:42

Well off to a rubbish start today - a packet of crisps - just busy. Going to grab some healthy food on the way home so we have something nutritious in the house.

elfofftheshelf · 26/01/2016 17:06

Thank you Miffy also thanks for the useful low point snacks - hadn't even thought of babybel light - they're quite filling.

I have a fitbit and it does motivate me to move more, mine is synced to my WW app, although I think the bar for exercise is set too low on the app as in one day last week I overachieved my full weeks target! I do run on the treadmill 3 times per week and use the gym, but even so! I think it gave me a fit point just for pottering around the house making breakfast Grin

bettybyebye · 26/01/2016 17:12

Week 2 weigh in for me today and a 4lb loss! Smile absolutely delighted with that as was aiming for 2. So half a stone off in 2 weeks which has really motivated me to stick with the plan. Need to lose 3.5lbs to get below 12 stone which is my next goal...

MrsJorahMormont · 26/01/2016 19:43

I have managed to turn the day around, thanks to a sensible dinner :) Only 21 points of my 31 today, so still have ten left to play with. What would you eat with it? Smile

Our newbies meeting was very quick yesterday so there are things I'm not sure about yet:

  1. Are you supposed to eat all your daily points every day? Can you carry them over and make them weeklies if you don't use them?
  1. How quickly do they drop down? And how low do daily and weekly points go? On the really old WW you ended up on REALLY low points as you lost weight and it started to get really tough.
  1. Is it possible to do WW if you are pregnant? You can do SW but your aim is to maintain or only gain a little, rather than losing weight.
gamerwidow · 26/01/2016 21:41

I can answer 1. Yes you should eat all your dailies and they can't be carried over.

2 & 3 I don't know I'm afraid.
