No surpise I sts, had a whole pizza at ASK yesterday followed by tiramisu. Then a piece of flake cake (followed by another piece in the evening, and cheese and biscuits ).

This evening will also be challenging, some friends are coming round for drinks and nibbles.

I really want to get down to 11 stone by the end of the month for the wedding.

pretty enjoy your holiday, and congrats on your 1lb. Have you updated yourself?

bebe thanks for the cake! Take care of yourself, rest as much as possible, and it's important you keep your blood sugar up as you say. How are you feeling today anyway?

Here's the updated list - and marking my place for when I get back. So far have had the day from hell, with whatever could go wrong, going wrong

Still, never mind - the frantic running around probably helps with the calories!

Oh dear pretty, that doesn't sound good! Hope things get better!

Trimmer - glad you had a nice time at dinner, and if you can't forget the diet on your Birthday then when can you?!

Taken my first load of steroids (5 tablets) they raise your blood sugar so when they start absorbing and wearing off you get a bit of a crash so you need to pick it up again. Have stocked up on caramel rice cakes so hoping they can help stabilise it when it drops! Want to try and avoid the sicky feeling!

Feeling a bit more positive now I am actually doing something to 'help' IYSWIM!

Have had a busy morning in the garden, have re-potted my (DDs) sunflowers, pegged down some of the strawberry plant runners & planted some lavender cuttings from my near death lavender plant! Going to go and hull some strawberries now so I can start making some jam! The busier I keep myself the less time I have to wallow in self pity!

GettinTrimmer · 04/07/2010 12:53

Last two days have been a write off, friends came over last night, had wine and copious amount of nibbles!

But I am determined to see a loss this week.

PBM How are you? Need you to come and chat as it'll be quiet round here for a while without Blondes and Prettybird.

Jodie Not seen you for a while. Hope all OK.

bebe As you say, at least you are able to do something now. Take care, it'll pass. How are you getting on with keeping your blood sugar level up?

It's a gorgeous day here, not quite as hot as yesterday, what's it like where you are?

Hello my dears
sorry iv been awol iv not had phone credit all week! No internet!!
Well our new home is lovely nice job Trimmer

Bebe honey im so sorry your having an awful time please god these steroids will help you back to healthy and dont stress about reaching your goal by dd's bday you have done absolutely amazing and your original goal was 11 and a half which youv already beaten! You look great and will look brilliant for dd's bday so just concentrate on resting and treat your self to the odd extra solero
Trimmer your meal out sounds very lovely! Iv been craving tiramasu for years!! I adored it when i lived in italy but cant hav it cause of the booze since i became a muslim but I WANT IT!!!
Piste your kitchen sounds fab i was so excited when i got my new cooker and was able to do some lovely cooking again trying to resist doing too many nice things though...
Pretty id love to do pillates its dead hard in the begining though isnt it? I rem two friends of mine doing a couple of classes in college and it was so funny they had to call a taxi to take them home from the college gym cause they were in so much pain after it they couldnt walk the 3-5min to our house which was practically on campus your ice cream sounds lovely well worth the few calories!
Murtette are you still writting down your food intake? I think id not be impressed with myself if i started again... But maybe thats exactly why i should start!

im not too good myself iv been having spotting since 6wks (il be 9wks on tue) and the stress got too much for me so im in the hosp now waiting to see a doctor. They dont get concerned about you in this country till your on deaths door but i said thats it i just have to get checked out properly! So wish me luck or (if you do) say a little prayer for me, thanks girls xxx

bebejones · 04/07/2010 14:41

Overcast, cool & windy here today...beautiful!

Have been a busy bee last couple of days. Trying to stay busy to stop all the moping!

Have been eating more than I would normally and not doing any exercise so Id be surprised to sts. But it is only temporary & it can't be helped. I need to eat to keep my blood sugar up & protect my stomach from the steroids! Have been up since 4.20am, they stop me sleeping which is really annoying...especially since DD didn't wake up til 7.30 & DH got up at 8!!!

Trimmer - nibbles are the worst! You think they aren't going to hurt coz they are so small it doesn't seem like food IYSWIM and before you know it half the tube of pringles is gone & you have had a pigs worth of cocktail sausages!

Definately quiet without Blondes Hope she is having a lovely time!

Have made strawberry jam today, smells fantastic but have had to make a victoria sponge to test it out! Shall be parcelling it off to DHs office in the morning to avoid too much temptation!

bebejones · 04/07/2010 14:44

X post - PBM, so sorry you are in hospital. Got everything crossed for you that it's all ok with bubba xxx

Thank you

Have been losing weight for 6 weeks now, the longest I've stuck at it for years! Start weight was 15st 9.5lbs, current is 14st 11lbs. I am exercising like mad and managing to avoid cake most of the time!
We are TTC DC2 which is the main motivation, but also my brother is getting married in 2 weeks and I didn't want to be a total blob.

Alibaba - TTC is my motivation for weight loss too! Not trying til Dec but wanted something to occupy myself with until then! Well done on sticking to the diet, and what a fab loss in 6 weeks!! Maybe you can give me some renewed enthusiasm coz I have definately been slipping of late...too many ice creams and BBQs!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/07/2010 21:19

bebe that is an amazing amount to have lost, do you mind me asking how long it's taken you?
We are TTC at the moment and so I'm trying to lose as much as possible as quickly as possible before I start gaining it again!
First pregnancy I had terrible SPD, partly I believe due to being unfit, so I am really going for it with the exercise so that I am stronger and fitter this time around.

It is hard atm isn't it with all the summer eating? Today we went to a food thing at a nearby farm, I ate hog roast, ice cream and cake . I have done 30-day shred plus another 20 mins cardio/strength exercise today though so hoping that will mitigate the damage....

bebejones · 05/07/2010 07:21

Alibaba - taken me about 7 months now. We all started this on 4 Jan this year! Definately finding this last bit a struggle. Although bizarely I seemed to be losing more in the colder weather, somehow found it easier! I had bad spd first PG too (although I think I got off lightly compared to some people on my antenatal thread) I also got some snidey comments from MWs and they sort of stuck with me. I'm just don't want my weight to be an issue next time, made me a bit and anxious. Have you looked at www.foodfocus.co.uk it's really helpful for logging calories & exercise, has helped a few of us.

1lb on again for me, not surprised. Gonna really need everyones help when I stop these steroids so I can start heading back in the right direction. Back on the soups for me come Thursday!

Morning all

Both my dcs have the Monday morning blues, not helped by staying awake until gone 10pm, even though they went to bed early. Just wish the little blighters would go to sleep earlier.

I am going to do kick butt exercise when I've had another cup of tea . Level 1 and Level 2 of 30 Day Shred together, can't face running as it'll be hot.

AliBaba Welcome Well done on your weight loss so far. That 30 Day Shred is hard isn't it? Very convenient for you though with a small child, not having to pack up and go to gym.

Just being nosey, looked on your profile, I'm in South Hants - Where abouts are you?

bebe The 1lb will soon go, most important thing is to look after yourself. Hope it's not too hot and humid where you are.

IKWYM about the summer eating, BBQs, picnics, etc.

PBM I am thinking of you, please let us know how it goes. Take care of yourself.

You can still have tiramisu without the boozy bit! You could just put some flavouring in?

OP posts:
bebejones · 05/07/2010 09:29

Just spoken to my GP who has said he might want me to stay on the steroids longer than 5 days! SUCKS!!!

Poohbearsmom · 05/07/2010 09:55

Morning
Bebe that sucks but if it helps thats the main thing... Hope your feeling a bit better?
Welcome Alababa fab weight loss so far! Are you calorie counting or just eating healthy? The exercise is really paying off well done i was over 16st and lost 2 and a half but got sick and started slacking... Now 9wks pg so off the "diet" for now but still trying to eat healthy (mostly...... )

the doctor yesterday was lovely and said its very common for women to bleed and alot of women bleed through out pregnancy and my being rhesus neg (and ds2 having suffered from rhesus jaundice) wouldnt be an issue before 12wks as the blood mix would be very minimal and wouldnt cause a miscarriage... She did and external scan and warned me before that its very early and she probably wouldnt be able to see the baby but i was still detestated when she couldnt... She did get the sac on the screen but not the baby and im more sick with worry now then i was iv to have a big scan this wk and please god they will find the baby im just a wreck though il let ye know and thanks for the kind words xxx

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/07/2010 10:15

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone, you've all lost so much weight it's very inspiring! I love Food Focus, so useful, it really helps me stay on track - I am definitely calorie counting, I've lost all sense of normal portion sizes over the years so even when I cut out the obvious stuff (cake, chips, biscuits, too much booze) then the weight doesn't really come off.

PBM - fingers crossed for your scan this week xx

bebe - that does suck about the steriods, hopefully it won't be much longer than the 5 days?

GettinTrimer - wow at you doing 2 shreds in one day, I nearly died doing my Level 1 this morning. Was only my 2nd day on it though so hoping it will get a bit easier! You are so right about the gym, and with membership and all the creche fees at my local one it would cost me £120 a month to do just 3 hour long sessions a week.

Am determined to be really good this week. We have no plans for the weekend so there should be no falling off the wagon. I really want to get the first stone off, will be a big milestone for me.

Murtette · 05/07/2010 13:26

Hello Summer Slinkies!

Have you realised we've been doing this for six months now?!!! Did you ever think we'd get this far? Well done to all of you. You've all done so well and have been great at keeping me motivated/kicking me when needed. How many of you took your measurements back in January? I'm going to go back to that first thread and try and find my measurements and re-measure myself. Even thought I've only lost 3/4 of a stone, I can still see a big difference. I sts this week which wasn't a surprise given the dinner party on Sat night and pub lunch followed by afternoon tea and then random odds and ends for dinner which included large chunks of cheese.

Bebe - that must be frustrating about the steriods. BUT if it makes you better, it will be worth it. It might even do you some good to start eating a few treats as that will stop you getting bored with the diet. Has the doc suggested how you manage the blood sugar dips, for example, are you supposed to eat high GI foods? Anyway, given all of the running around you're doing, it sounds as though you'll be burning off a fair few calories! You're garden must be looking fab after all of your work on Saturday.

PBM - you must be so anxious. The first few weeks can be scary, can't they, as you wonder what might be going on. Over here, you have a scan at 12 weeks and then they check the heart beat externally at 16 weeks and at my 16 wk appointment it took the MW over 10 mins to find the heartbeat. I was getting frantic for about 8 of those minutes, especially the last couple as I could tell she was getting concerned too. Have you got an appt for the scan yet? When is it? And yes, I am still listing my food but certainly won't share this weekend's with you all as I'm too !

Gettin - hope you enjoyed your bday. I love, love, love tiramasu and now you've just reminded me that I haven't had it for ages! I'm going to be thinking of it all day now. I will resist!

Ali - welcome! It sounds as though you've got off to an excellent start.

Pretty - did you run at the weekend? How is your leg?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/07/2010 13:34

Thanks guys
i got my appointment for tomorrow afternoon thankfully they gave me one so soon, its so overcrowded and busy at my hosp i didnt think they'd give me one so soon but the doctor wrote "urgent" and they listened... Im actually sick with worry
one minute im thinking im just being ott and worrying too much cause i had a mc before and im sure my little one is fine then the next im dizzy with worry thinking the worst and angry im not sick
i know theres nothing i can do and im sorry for off loading on ye, i dont want to upset dh talking negative and we'v not told anyone in rl yet, i was desperate to ring my sister yesterday but just couldnt do that to her (shes a worryer too) so i came to ye instead! Xxx

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/07/2010 15:46

PBM - I have got it all crossed for you - what a terrible worry... I am glad you are going tomorrow.

Hugs from London xxx

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/07/2010 17:43

Oh PBM you poor thing. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow - fingers crossed that it is good news.

GettinTrimmer · 05/07/2010 19:57

PBM I remember feeling like that when I went for a scan at 8 weeks with dd, all the very best to you for tomorrow xx. Try and get some rest.

Ali Are you planning on doing the Shred every day?

I am going to try and do Davina after shredding tomorrow.

Bit rubbish here again today on diet front, too much cheese in my omelette at lunchtime, 1/4 of a homemade pizza for tea (a big 1/4!). I am determined to have a good 4 days till my next weigh in and planning on making Bebe's bean casserole tomorrow. Bit fed up at sts and gaining and would love to see a loss!

OP posts:
bebejones · 05/07/2010 20:07

PBM - good luck for 2moro xxx

Piste - I gained too, we can be gaining buddies! There is always next week!

I figure that all the extra food whilst on the steroids will just mean that I'll lose it in chunks when I start back on the soup again!

Still, the sooner I can stop taking them the better. They stop me sleeping properly, make me feel lightheaded, sick, flushed & I get awful mood swings! Just so need to get back to a healthy weight & I'm so close. Have been so bad lately & this is just not helping! Had toast this morning, a brie & grape sandwich for lunch (DH bought it for me) and garlic bread with dinner. I am so bloated with all that bread I feel really uncomfortable!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/07/2010 21:55

I've been pretty good today. No snacks and just the tiniest bit of icecream with my strawberries after dinner. I have Shredded and done 20 mins on Active Sports on the Wii - I ache a lot!

bebe - it's crap that they make you feel so awful, but you are right that the weight will fall off once you're off them

Gettin - I am going to try. I ache this evening, not all over but the bit just above my knees! Climbing the stairs carrying DS earlier wasn't funny! But I do love it, even though it makes me groan so I mustn't do it with any windows open
Just realised I didn't reply to you asking where I am! In north Hampshire, large town beginning with B
