Congrats Reshape! Both on little bean growing as it should and controlled weight. Have you heard that to have a happy baby you should eat chocolate every day?

Just been for a naughty shopping spree. Needed a Clarins moisturising serum I use and also ended up with an Armani foundation and v. expensive foundation brush, also an Estee Lauder eye pencil as recommended by our very own fishy person. Also needed a shrug type cardi to wear with a dress - got that in hot pink and also bought a lovely (well I think so!) top in cream, turq, green and brown. And a beigey cardi (prob more coffee colour really). And 2 magazines and a book! I very rarely do this so really enjoyed it.

Had lunch out - went to a place that does salads and had a honey-mustard one with chicken and some rye toast. Very tasty. As was the green tea I had with it.

Just enjoying a peaceful cuppa before going to get DS from school. He has a friend coming over and I promised i would take them go-karting. Joy.

dinky - hope your meetings not too boring.

QualityTime · 16/06/2010 13:57

Hi Reshape, that's great news! Woo for you, don't get too hung up on weight gain, it's all for a good reason.

Sorry Cheese, too many casual acquaintances knew my name or were dropping hints so I needed a clean break.

tostaky, that's a good idea re independant one, I onyl went a few times as it seemed a bit for what you are paying for, you only need 2 of you to not look like pillcoks

Bit of a better day today, have been veyr bad last few days but not put on any weight, luckily, today had small bowl alepn, 2 bananas and a large mug of tomato susoup. Off to park in a bit even though I am running on 5 hours sleep, hopefully won't lose the girsl!

Tea is something with smoked mackerel I think, or there is some leftover chicken. I hate it when DH works the late shift as meals are all weird and I have to cook for him at 10pm so I get all hungry then.

DukesOfTripHazard · 16/06/2010 21:18

Wha' g'wan? You all troughing? I made gud soup today. Like QT everything went spud shaped last night. 2 pax crisps, fish and chips. Work it!

lunch today rye toast with smoked mac, avocado, celery, chezza toms, balsamic, basil and black pepper. Oh. Yum. I love avocado. I know they're calorific but they are utterly in my top five/10 fave foods I think.

1 avocado
2 smoked mack
3 lentils, walnuts, feta with lemon dressing.

  1. chicken stuffed with goats cheese and olives.
  2. porridge with blackberries.
Undertone · 16/06/2010 21:39

1 strong cheddar and chutney on oaty biscuits
2 steak frites
3 hot curry with a peshwari nan
4 McCoy's salt and vinegar crisps

tostaky · 17/06/2010 08:47

mmmhh... i might try the lentils/walnut /feta combo for lunch or tonight...

right, about to go food shopping with the two DSs... wish me luck!

tostaky · 17/06/2010 08:48

oh i need to buy new bathroom scale, any recommendation? i dont want one that does body fat but i like something with a nice design and long lasting and not too ££££

BudaisintheZONE · 17/06/2010 09:14

CAn you lot stop list your fave foods please! Making me want stuff I shouldn't have.

Lentil-walnut/feta sounds yum and will be what I will be having for lunch today! On a bed of rocket. Yum.

Think I had too much bread yesterday and have gained a pound overnight! Had rye toasts with lunch and then spelt toast with soup for dinner. Then honey-mustard dressing on salad which prob didn't help. Having a really good day today to make up for it. Just had porridge with dried cranberries and cinnamon for b'fast. After walking the dog.

QT - can you remind me how you do your tomato soup please?

Anyone else got any easy and nice soup recipes please?

Dinky - you seem to have disappeared! hope you are not still stuck in horrible meeting!

QualityTime · 17/06/2010 10:53

UNdertone, you are naughty

tostaky, I have the ww one, from argos I think, is quite good, silver slimmy style, does body fat h2o etc and also stores user stats here it is

tommy soup
halve 6 or 7 tomatoes, quarter red onion, 2 clovesa garlic, handful basil, splash olive oil to stop sticking, roast half an hour or so.
Put in pan, just cover with water and simmer 20ish mins, blend and then I water it down half and half with water so it lasts longer

butternut squash much the same just do squash instead of tomato and no basil.

Friend told me about mint and courgette, gently fry chopped courgette, chopped onion and chopped mint until soft, cover with water and simmer for 15ish mins and blend. Am going to try that later.

Just been for a run, is so hot I walked some and had to cut my planned rout eshort but still managed 2.5 miles in 28ish mins so quite chuffed, shulders are bleeding from stupid bra though, and I can't workout why, have worn it for a year with no problems grr. so painful.

DukesOfTripHazard · 17/06/2010 12:08

That bra ain't stupid it's evil

DukesOfTripHazard · 17/06/2010 12:09

Oh and QT I've noticed we are both dippy about our mums.

BudaisintheZONE · 17/06/2010 13:57

Maybe bra a bit too big now so is rubbing?

tostaky · 17/06/2010 16:02

QT - you should try putting some vaseline next time u go for a run.

i have the easiest/lasiest recipe of tomato soup if anyone is interested:

  • open can of V8
  • heat up
  • add curry or pepper or basil etc...
  • ta-da!!!

i might try the mint and courgette though, sounds yummy!

just been to playgroup and ate cake...
tonight: planning chicory salad + vol-au-vent (unhealthy french dish with mushroom, milk, brick and fish)

will do better tomorrow

dinkystinky · 17/06/2010 17:13

Meeting yesterday was shite - 12 hours stuck in meeting room with only biff food and idiot men arguing about idiot points. I ate biscuits, pizza and bread (only food available between 12 noon and midnight was this)- but it was that or commit harikari with a sharpened pencil and believe me, it was a close run thing.

5 hours sleep later, day of drafting docs and I have another 12 hour meeting to look forward to, starting at 7pm tonight. Joy joy joy. And will be working all tomorrow and missing food festival booked in the evening at this rate too... grr. I took a massive paycut so I didnt have to deal with this shit. Not happy. Have biffed again today but as am not sleeping I reckon I need the extra calories. Will get back in the zone when deal from hell is over.

Jack - youch at bra causing bleeding. Bin the bra lady!

Right, once more unto the fray. Stay zoning zoners...

DukesOfTripHazard · 17/06/2010 17:19

Dinky that sounds very shit. Am at the whole pay cut business. When's your fecking boss back?

PMT (despite agnus castus smuggery earlier in week) wine, pizza, ice cream, shouting

BudaisintheZONE · 17/06/2010 17:45

Sounds like shit dinky. Esp as you made plans that this wouldn't happen. Dispensation given for crap food though.

QT - just made soup and used as a sauce for meatballs that I had left over from Monday. Also added half a tin of lentils. Twas nice.

duckyfuzz · 17/06/2010 19:43

Oh dear sorry for others with pmt shit work etc work shit here too and am off to visit my sis after work tomorrow, on my own as its 500 miles round trip, which has made dt2 anxious she hates any sort of change and is a real mummy's girl so more stress

so, wine, nuts and maybe some crisps later

QualityTime · 17/06/2010 20:06

ducky, oh yes re mums, in fact, that is the problem with the bra.
She bought me this bra last year, veyr expensive, but worked great, until ti started rubbing my shoulders. the stitching was all coming loose so I assumed it was because it was old and worn. Got replacement in same size as it is still veyr very tight, wouldn't get a smaller size done up. Silly woman bought me 2, total cost £70!
I can't not wear them!
vaseline good diea, do normally put plasters on ym shoudler, it's the chest jumping shoulder rubbing thing that hurts, not much I can do about that.

Poor dinky, how much longer do you have to do this? sounds horrible.

Buda, I made the soup when my veggy friend came round and she had it unwatered down as pasta sauce, yummy. I forgot I normally add a wodge of worcestershire sauce but since she came I keep forgetting (it has fish in)

DH took another pic of my legs, am again, am gutted I don't have a before pic now!

BudaisintheZONE · 18/06/2010 06:31

Morning all on this weigh-in day!!!

Weighed in at 15 st 6.5 lbs this morning.
Started at 16 st 10
Last week was 15 st 7.7
So this week a loss of just over a pound
Total loss 1 st 3.5 lbs

A bit slower than I would like really but it's going down and I feel great and I am not on a diet. This is how i eat.

QT - Worcestershire sauce would have been nice in it actually.

Way to go on the skinny legs!

I tried to wear a dress yesterday that I bought in Tesco last year and it is really big around shoulders etc so is far too low cut and long and looks hideous! And I have it in another colour too. Oh well. Oh - and as expected I have obv lost weight from boobs!

DukesOfTripHazard · 18/06/2010 08:15

Buda that is brilliant. Well done. Keep going girl!

dinkystinky · 18/06/2010 08:56

QT - that's crap re the bras. Any chance of returning them to say that its the stitching or something causing you to bleed as they were a perfect fit?

Dukes Buda etc - ta muchy for the sympathy. Will be having words when this deal is done. Managing partner already knows am supremely fucked off about this. My the last few days in figures:

Pounds on - 2
Hours of exercise - 0
Total hours of sleep - 7
Documents churned - lost count
Documents agreed - none
Biffage - countless
Makes for a depressing read!

Ho humm - looks like a through the night tonight too to try to get it signed tomorrow at some point which I will be supremely fucked off on. Right, once more unto the fray

...

BudaisintheZONE · 18/06/2010 09:24

Crikey Dinky. You are in for a great weekend. DH has had a few weeks like yours but not for years. But is reason he doesn't want to go back and work in London.

Thanks for applause Dukes and Dinky. I did post a reply to Dukes earlier but connection went down as a pressed post.

Got half hour walk with dog as rain was threatening and thunder rumbling. Started to pour just as we got back. DH working from home today.

CheeeseOnToast · 18/06/2010 10:07

Morning all. 9 stone 2.8 again this morning - happy with that. Maintaining, but need to try a bit harder.

Stonking row with DP this morning, feel today. About cleaning. Again.

Well done buda that's great going. Dinks, work situ sounds awful. Hope the deal closes in super-quick time and you get your weekend to yourself. I think the biffing is allowed in such circumstances.

Hope everyone else is well.

Oh, has anyone seen that 'bug in cheese' thread? It's enough to put you off cheese for life. And peaches, and possibly grapes. VOM.
