Ta-da!

OP posts:
JackBauerIsGoneForever · 07/06/2010 13:25

If I don't eat before I exercise I don't do as well, a bolw of cereal an hour before a run means I can run 2.5 miles, otherwise I tend to stop and hit a wall halfway.

Lunch is chicken and avocado (yeah yeah) salad and tomato soup (it needs eating) not sure whether tea is home cooked curry or chinese, will wait and see how much cash DH coems home with

dinkystinky · 07/06/2010 13:34

Jack - do not, I repeat, do not do the shred today if your tummy muscles are aching. Also do not go for a run. Rest the muscles, take some ibuprofen and have a warm bath tonight and see how they feel in the morning. If you exercise on a twingy muscle you could end up putting yourself out of action for way longer than you can tolerate.
Just go for a walk and see how it feels.

Jenduff - I sense deja vu here. I think you need to hide all the treats during school hols - those pesky kids are v bad for the zone...

BudaisintheZONE · 07/06/2010 13:41

I know it is usually best to eat for energy before exercising and I wouldn't advocate running or something very strenuous on a empty tum but I was only walking. I felt fine actually.

Had my soup for lunch and have just had a yoghurt and 3 brazil nuts and a green tea.

Off to get DS from school.

JackBauerIsGoneForever · 07/06/2010 13:46

I don't think it is the muscle though dinky, it doesn't hurt when I tense up or try and do a situp, it's more like a period pain cramp now but over the side and towards the surface, instead of inside my tummy iyswim.

Half term is a killer isn't it.

YoginiPinkBikini · 07/06/2010 14:11

Soup still not made for later.

Trying to tell myself I'm strong enough to make delicious icecream for the dc and not even lick the spoon. I will be strong I will be strong I will be strong

Yep Boot camp is needed

jenduff · 07/06/2010 14:14

Yep, school hols a killer - try to do lots of lovely bunting cupcake earth mothery stuff and blardy kids still fight all week. Have been managing stress by self medicating with crappy foods and turning to wine by teatime - I so need to be in zone as am 2 months away from my 40th birthday

[feeling old and bifferish]

BudaisintheZONE · 07/06/2010 15:48

Jack - ovulation pain maybe?

For all you holiday biffers - I know it is hard but there is an even longer holiday coming up! Remember our mantras:

NOTHING tastes as good as being slim feels.
Will it make you happy?
Will it still be there when you are slim?

Put down the crap! Stock up on sensible, healthy snacks that you CAN have. Drink lots of water. Exercise!

Come on. We can do it. I want to lose half a stone in the next 3 weeks. To do that I will:

Eat no crap.
Exercise twice a day.
Drink lots of water and green tea.
Make sensible choices when eating out.

Make your promises here and stick to them.

Themasterandmargaritas · 07/06/2010 16:03

OMG I have just realised that it is 6pm and I have not drunk a single glass of water all day That is terrible n'est ce pas?

DukesOfTripHazard · 07/06/2010 19:09

Well done with all the reminders Buda.

TMAM have you rehydrated?

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 07/06/2010 19:18

Best get onto the sundowners straight away TMAM.

duckyfuzz · 07/06/2010 19:24

thanks for the bootcamp kick up the rear jack, dinky and co, have been v zoney today and went to the gym after work however I think I am due on this week, will do my best to stay focused

just out of interest ladies, if you were at the gym and 3 boys aged 7 or 8 (at the youngest) came running out of the loos in the female changing rooms, and you then foudn they'd weed all over the floor and seat, what would you do?

dinkystinky · 07/06/2010 19:39

Well done on gyming it Ducky. Erm, I think I'd locate the adult with those kids and suggest maybe they may need to revisit potty training again...

JackBauerIsGoneForever · 07/06/2010 19:41

Good one buda.
Went a bit weird here after it got to half 4 and I realised I had been holed up in the pit of the DD's bedroom so long i had forgotten to shred.
Shoved sausies and chips in oven, did shred in back of sitting/dining room (is open plan) while DH and girls xboxed and then they had tea and I wasn't hungry.
So now I am picking at some roastie veggies and still nto hungry, coolio.
And their room is tidy!

ducky, I would tell staff and point out who it was. But I am a bitch.

duckyfuzz · 07/06/2010 19:45

thanks you 2, I'm glad you would hav edone what I did I foudn mum and told her what they'd done, unfortnately she was of the 'my kids would never do anything like that' camp so it fell on deaf ears

DukesOfTripHazard · 07/06/2010 20:08

God yeah, dob 'em in, little feckers.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 07/06/2010 20:15

Silly woman Ducks - I would have chased them down the hall remonstrating with the little sweethearts and then dobbed them in. Obviously imminently prior to my arrest.

JackBauerIsGoneForever · 07/06/2010 20:17

This is why you dob them into the staff, then you can all pull faces at ehr and her kids behind her back.

duckyfuzz · 07/06/2010 20:18

I knew I coudl rely on you lot

Undertone · 07/06/2010 21:21

I need bootcamp.

2 lbs on over weekend.

I suck.

But yet another evening getting in late from work, scarfing a salad, then feeling bad i didn't work out.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 07/06/2010 22:12

Aw undertone - I'm as bad, though I did get a wee run in the mammies race today @ sports day in which I came second last

Todays food hasn't been good either:

Breakfast: Banana & peach

Lunch: 2 slices of roast beef & tomatoes (no bread)

Snakc: Apple

Dinner: 3 slices of cooked gammon & 2 rounds of brown bread with laughing cow on them

tostaky · 07/06/2010 22:25

Buda - thanks for the motivation!

FF - why do you say you didnt do well? i dont see any snacks or unhealthy food apart maybe from the laughing cow but you do need dairy everyday

Well, today hasnt been so good food-wise so we shall forget about it and start fresh tomorrow. i did go for a two hour walk in the forest though, with DS in the babybjorn.

cant wait to be back home and start going to the gym again!!!
i know i gave birth only 2 months ago but i truly hate my body right now...
MUST DO BETTER TOMORROW!!!!

BudaisintheZONE · 08/06/2010 06:55

Was good all day. And then had a mini magnum ice cream last night.

Did it make me happy? No. Felt so guilty afterwards. And during to be honest but I kept eating it!

Anyway. Today is another day. Busy though. Am out for lunch. Then helping at book fair at school from 3 till 4.30. Then out for dinner and lots of champagne with 2 really lovely friends.

Will have a yoghurt and a banana in a minute for breakfast and then take DS to school. Will walk dog when i come back and then do something else.

tostaky - you are doing really well to be even thinking about all this with a 2 month old baby. But don't stress about it too much.

DukesOfTripHazard · 08/06/2010 07:56

Tostaky, hating your body isn't going to help. You know what they say, nine months to grow the baby, nine months to get your body back.

If you do this too hard, too fast, you will be strung out and irritable and your baby won't be happy either.

CheeeseOnToast · 08/06/2010 08:08

hi everyone

Thanks for the bootcamp style shout Buda, I need it. I went to Holland and Barrat on Monday and bought a load of those fruit bars, which are just pureed fruit pressed into bar form, licorice bars and oat/fruit bars, as my 'snacks for the week'. I'm such a bloody pig that I've already eaten them all. In ONE DAY. I need HEEELLPPP!!!!!!

Back to it with a vengeance today. Had slim fast shake for bfast, I'll have one for lunch and then I'm going to the gym after work. Need to get back into the habit of eating little things. Portion size is my beef.

Did a nice dinner last night, thought I'd post it for you lot:

spaghetti with spinach mushrooms and garlic

Put spaghetti on to boil
chop garlic finely and add to a pan with a splash of oil and small nob of butter
add chunkily-sliced mushrooms and sautee for a bit
add in spinach (I used the frozen spinach that comes in pellets, you defrost and just add them to the pan)
add a splash of milk to make it more creamy
add in some lemon thyme

When spaghetti's done, add to pan, with a little of the water it cooked in. Stir it all together to coat the spaghetti and veg in the 'sauce'. Delish!

FF&F your day's food looks ok to me? Better than mine, anyway

CheeeseOnToast · 08/06/2010 08:09

oh and it was tasty even with wholemeal spaghetti, which is what I used.
