Dukes - I save even more time and buy BNS precut (the frozen stuff is perfect for soups!) Am a v lazy cook

DukesOfTripHazard · 15/05/2010 13:16

I like Rachels Organic low fat yogs for a filling sugar fix. About 100 cals but no yukky aspartame.

cornsillkwearsclogs · 15/05/2010 13:21

Can I eat oats or is that bad? I've had oats so simple for breakfast and again for lunch. Is that high carbs?

dinkystinky · 15/05/2010 13:23

Oats are good - low GI so while carbs do release energy slowly. Though dont you get bored having porridge twice a day?

cornsillkwearsclogs · 15/05/2010 13:26

Not yet but I'm sure I will after a bit!

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 15/05/2010 13:34

Oats are good, I have porridge for brek most days and it keeps me going.

Dukes, yeah, life's too short to peel a farking squash. Tastes yummy roasted as well, and it goes soft so you can still blend it.

Oh, and someone pointed out salsa is very low cal as a dip, so use it for dipping prawns or corn thins [boak] or I use it to dip leftover chiken in.
Any snack that is protein is good as well, will fill you up, boiled egg is good to keep in fridge if you don't mind the smell

Had poached egg on my mackerel salad yesterda, was lovely, and avoided the need for dressing as the egg yolk went everywhere.

LG&T, I'm thinking of you

Cyb - last January, over a year to lose 3 stone is actually a while! But I don't mind, I wanted it to come off slowly so the new way of eating would become a way of life and not pile the weight back on again.

Cheese, I follow SW - the Extra Easy plan but to be honest, it's just normal every day food, no special recipes, no specially bought ready meals, just wholesome home made ish delicious food

You know the fucking annoying funny thing though? Before I joined sw & lost the 3 stone, I was wearing size 16 jeans, size 16 tops etc... so, how come at the end of this I am only a size 14???????? Must I really have been an 18 & just didn't know it? To be honest, size 12 jeans do fit but are snug so so far I haven't purchased anything in a 12.

DukesOfTripHazard · 15/05/2010 13:44

Right we must all be pimping up salads left right and centre. Here is today's lunch offering for you:

Spinach
Romaine
Chezza toms
beetroot
sliced bernard matthews
Toasted seeds
balsamic
couple squirts olive oil

dinkystinky · 15/05/2010 13:44

Fairhaired - how tall are you again? At your current weight am amazed you're not a size 12!

dinkystinky · 15/05/2010 13:46

last night's salad was roasted cod with harissa (mostly so I could taste it) plus baby salad leafs, cherry tomatoes, spring onions (again taste issue), few baby potatoes and some dry fried pancetta bits. Twas yummy

I am loving the way we are now the board weirdo's who only eat cottage cheese and air instead of a 'sensible healthy eating plan'

dinkystinky · 15/05/2010 14:00

Am with you there. My nightmare food would be egg on a corn thin.

Made mistake of training this morning. Feel like shite now. Have kids swimming to deal with now. Wish me luck.

CheeeseOnToast · 15/05/2010 14:01

Jack what is this salad shaker of which you speak?

My lunch:

Hardboiled egg
Half a pack of cooked fantail prawns (70 cals )
Teaspoon of sweet chilli sauce for dippage
Two chopped spring onions
two chezza toms
watercress rocket and spinach leaves
two inches of cucumber sliced thinly

With a lemon and balsamic dressing

'Twas yummy.

Gonna enter it all into food focus and see how few calories that leaves me for my dinner
