Hi again - just back from walking the dog. Added in a few extra blocks with an extra hill. Still took 45 mins. Maybe I'm walking faster.

Anyhoo.

Coco - have a great time! Would normally be jealous but have spent so much time in Dublin this year that I am not! If weather crap there is an Imaginarium thingie somewhere that DCs might enjoy. Haven;t been but am planning on taking DS in June. You'll find it on Dublin Tourist website. you have prob gone my now and will read this when you get back!

Cyb - a friend here used to do it. Botox that is. Went out for dinner last year with her when she had just had some and we have a great series of photos of D angry, sad, happy etc. and her face does not move. She has left now so not sure how she looks now.

TMAM - dresses sound nice. I find Boden stuff not too Bodeny if you don't go for pattern.

B'fast was a yoghurt, banana and 4 brazil nuts (read a thread on here a while ago that brazil nuts were great for your skin and I bought some but forgot i had them. Am having 4 a day)

Am starving now so will have some sliced turkey before I go to Tesco otherwise I will buy lots of crap I shouldn't and be tempted by bread or cake.

Off out for dinner and lots of drinks tonight with friends. So there will be biffing. And will biff tomorrow for birthday.

fishie · 14/05/2010 08:36

buda sliced turkey with mustard is my secret weapon, i take it to cinema or other snacking opportunities.

dinkystinky · 14/05/2010 08:37

Morning all. I am dinky . I am 10 stone 7 today - lack of booze has made no impact whatsoever on my weight loss efforts, probably because I've been holed up in bed doing nothing much but sweating and drinking lemsip and eating choc digestives (for medicinal purposes obviously) for the past two days. Am better and back in zone today - breakfast was porridge with ww yoghurt. Lunch will be a skinny latte and cereal bar (eating on the go between appointments). Dinner will be fish (possibly cod in homage to our leader) and a saladosaurus.

Cyb - dont do the botox mate. You dont need it - have seen photos from your biffday and you look fab and years younger than you actually are anyway! I like wrinkles and grey hairs - I think they add character to faces and each wrinkle tells a tale. Mind you my mum is curiously wrinkle free at 60 - my grandmother was one bag of wrinkles at 90 - suspect I'll change my mind at some point between 60 and 90...

Coco - if you're lurking have a fab time in Dublin.

BariatricObama · 14/05/2010 08:38

just popped back! went for a run and was 11 1 (.6!)

cyb i have 2 words for you - danni minogue

dinkystinky · 14/05/2010 08:42

BO - you're in the zone my friend. Keep up the excellent work!

I have 2 more terrifying words for you Cyb - Sharon Osborne!

BariatricObama · 14/05/2010 08:43

dinky get well soon! i hada horrible flu when these threads started

dinkystinky · 14/05/2010 08:43

Cheers BO - feeling more human today but reckon a day of tile/floor/carpet shopping will probably sap me of my will to live and give rise to a relapse.

BariatricObama · 14/05/2010 08:45

weird, no lines

Yes to considering botox.

bobbiewickham · 14/05/2010 09:10

Bobbie.

Have lost 1 1/2 lbs this week.

Was 11 st 12, and am now 11 st 8. God knows why it's shifting so slowly.

Weirdly though, even though my weight hasn't changed much, my clothes are fitting better.

Had dinner out last night, bifftastic, but when I look back...we had pitta bread with olive oil and balsamic and some olives to start, then I had red snapper with wilted green, veg and herby mash (which was quite dry, so not too buttery) and after that was still hungry so had almond, cinnamon and raspberry cake with a blob of cream which I stopped eating as soon as I was full.

I figure that most of that dinner wasn't too bad, and I stopped eating as soon as I was full, so don't feel too guilty.

Well done to all losers!

BariatricObama · 14/05/2010 09:12

bobbie, if it was easy we wouldn't be here! i sat 11 4 for weeks, i think i was in denial about portion sizes. anyway 1 1/2 in a week is pretty good

dinkystinky · 14/05/2010 09:23

Great going Bobs. You're allowed to enjoy food - like your dinner last night - just not all the time, that's all. Reckon if you stay in the zone another week you'll be down to 11 6ish.

Aitch · 14/05/2010 09:45

bobs did you read the huuuuuge long thing that jack killed the thread with? apparently you should believe your trousers, not your scales.

i am taking comfort from this, as i have remained static weight-wise despite being 89% in zone.

bobbiewickham · 14/05/2010 10:01

I Believe In My Trousers.

Not a bad mantra, that.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Will keep on zoning. I haven't eaten yet because I wasn't hungry, but might have some branflakes in a minute.

Just caught up with the old thread. LOL at cupcake man being a grandad, but it's not the end of the world - my mum was a grandma at 43.

CheeeseOnToast · 14/05/2010 10:12

Morning chaps. Weight this morning was 9stone2.8 (for purposes of new-thread-transparency I started at 9 stone 6) so not that great, but I have fallen off the wagon somewhat over the last few weeks. The last few days however have been good. I?m back in the Zone. Plus yesterday I was 9stone3.4 so shows what difference a day makes (chooses to ignore Jack?s brilliant c&p about how the scales, they lie!)

Great post Jack by the way, really useful to bear in mind. I am on my own most of the weekend as DP is busy (grr) so my exercise plans are as follows: gym after work tonight for a run and weights (I didn?t go last night after all, was just too tired ) then tomorrow we?re both going for a bike ride in the morning then DP is off (to watch some match that?s on or something? No idea really) so I think I will go to the gym or for a run outdoors, then come home and do some pampering (johnson?s holiday skin, pedicure and mani and de-hoofing feet). Then while the evening away mn-ing, or maybe meet up with DP later for a drink. Sunday I?m off in the afternoon for drinks in the sun with a friend. I am feeling In The Zone.

I got haddock out of freezer for dinner tonight ? what should I do with it? Su, you?re good at fish, any suggestions? Something easy, ie wrap in foil and bake, but with what?

Well done to all losers and welcome Chaos. Bobs your dinner last night sounds amazing.

Oh, I?ve emailed you MamaG. I am also a Botox-sceptic but have a feeling that if/when I start looking really haggard I may consider it. My mum has really good skin and hardly any wrinkles, and neither did my nan, so I think I might be ok.

Have a great time in Dublin Coco! I have never ever been to Ireland but would like to someday.

CheeeseOnToast · 14/05/2010 10:13

oh and Fishie did you see the thread yesterday about the silent cinema snacks? You would fit right in with your turkey slices and mustard snack

Aitch · 14/05/2010 10:14

is it smoked? i love kedgeree, i must say. make it with not v much brown basmati rice and chopped boiled eggs and eat with a salad.

bobbiewickham · 14/05/2010 10:17

I'd have botox. Deffo.

I'd go to the most expensive swanky place in London to have it done and not tell a soul.

I figure I'm going to wrinkle like mad due to being a ginger whose parents didn't give a flying fig about protecting from the sun. I'll be just redressing the balance.

I don't want to be wrinkly. I just don't.

CheeeseOnToast · 14/05/2010 10:19

Aitch it's not smoked, no. Nor is it dyed. Will it be tasteless? I have done poached smoked haddock before (poached in milk) which is always delicious but if it's not smoked I think it'll be a bit bleugh done like that.

DukesOfTripHazard · 14/05/2010 10:20

I'm trying to resist botox although I think it would be excellent. Sorry. I know it's bad and wrong but my forehead is a terrible disappointment. I think DH would be deeply traumatised though and I've got daughters and non-botoxxy friends bla bla...

bobbiewickham · 14/05/2010 10:23

It was gorgeous.

Haddock idea - tiny bit of grated cheese with wholegrain mustard, smear it on, grill.

Yum.

Aitch · 14/05/2010 10:27

sounds nice with the mustard.
i tend to cut undyed haddie into the two fillets and then roll up and pack into a tight dish, cover with milk and a dod of butter and poach in oven, then uncover, cheese on top and grill. it's very much scottish comfort food, that, with mashed potatoes. you can see why i've got weight to lose, i think.

bobbiewickham · 14/05/2010 10:28

I might have the haddock and cheese and mustard myself tonight...

CheeeseOnToast · 14/05/2010 10:55

Mmmmmm all sounds delicious!!! I want it now. Don't have much veg in, think I'll go via shops tonight and stock up on veggies. I am in love with spring greens at the moment. steamed, then served with a little nub of butter and loads of black pepper... gorge.

CheeeseOnToast · 14/05/2010 11:02

Bobs how long would you grill it for? Do you have to turn it?

I'm a bit of a fish novice, only ever poached haddock and pan-fried some sprats once, which I fried in garlic and lemon had in a hot buttered baguette and it was just fantastic. Drool.
