Has anyone been to any BBQs yet?

I've been buying chicken and putting putting spices on it then having salad and some small boiled spuds (and the odd burger!) lol

Our kids love BBBQ so we've already had 3! haha

suppose its not too bad if im just having grilled chicken!

GettinTrimmer · 22/04/2010 12:06

Dis Welcome back! Well done on your loss also.

Are you still doing ww counting points on your own without the class, or something else?

blondes you don't weigh in to tomorrow do you? I meant good luck with tomorrow!

bebe thanks for the rhubarb compote recipe, sounds gorgeous

My writing/reading in French is of a much higher standard than the speaking and listening, but hopefully they will all catch up....

jodie well done on the tea/coffee, yes I think that dress is calling you!

I get the results for my exam in August.

PBM That yogurt sounds good, I have some activia (low fat) rhubarb it is only 63 cals per pot.

I wish my in laws spoke French, then I'd get some more practice in!

Disenchanted3 · 22/04/2010 12:26

I'll still count points I think, and exercise, just not go to official ww anymore.

TBH i just can't afford it!

GettinTrimmer · 22/04/2010 12:39

I'm doing the same Dis, I was counting my calories on foodfocus, started doing ww this week, 20 points per day with 13 exercise points.

Although my only problem is after walking (uphill) to and from the afternoon school run I have been feeling light headed, so I think 20 is a bit too low for me (I also do as much exercise as I can fit in). Raising points to 22 from today.

bebejones · 22/04/2010 13:27

Welcome back Dis!!

No BBQs here yet, need to sort the garden out first, it's in such a mess, we dug it up last summer then all it did was pee down & we never got round to finishing it & now it is decidedly over grown! I am not a keen gardener!

Jodie - DH has lost some weight, his trousers now don't stay up. Trouble is I have no control over idea what he eats at work!

Had a lovely morning at friends & the DD's played very nicely together. Just had a sort of picnic in front garden with DD, lasted about 20mins before she decided to try and climb the fence to get to the road. Our house is raised up & at the end of the garden is a very low (about 1 foot) fence!

Only took me 10mins to walk up the road today, I practically sprinted up the hill! Well, not really obviously...but I wasn't out of breathe at all by the time I got to the top!

Trimer - you may need to work down to 20 points if you are feeling light headed rather than just cutting straight to it! But I'm not entirely sure how this points system works!!

can i join please??? I have about 4 stone to lose

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2010 14:02

morning - well afternoon!!

WELCOME BACK DIS WELCOME SARAHMIA - - add your name and details on the list- what diet are you doing - we all vary - i do ww

and dont worry at 4 stone to lose, take each 7lbs at a time

just been to see my mummy AT HOME she is doing really well

BEBE i LOVE banana bread

JODIE well done for still deoxing - yes i love milky tea and drink tons at work so i use a lot of milk (tho dont point it) bad blonde!!!

DIS mr blondes like a fire and bbq'smost nights - hence the sauasage drama- and no didnt have a sauasage last night - male or meat and i dont go to class's - refuse to pay someone to lose weight, so do it at home alone with books and calculater - any points you want to know just hollar

i have just had a ham sandwich with tons of lettuce and will sit in the garden and read my book with monster munch - off to gym later and will do bc class - sure my butt and thighs will protest and HOPEFULLY* will get back on track and lose a lb tomorrow

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/04/2010 14:04

This is for Dis!!

Thank you GT for the milk info - I thought it was more calorific than that, so that is a bargain - I could not be like Jodie and give up my coffee.

I looove rhubarb

Not entirely sure where Lassie is currently although overnight tonight he flies from Philadelphia to Dublin.

Am being really strict this week, it is easier when the DC are at school, although DD only went back today as she gets longer hols.

Highlight the list, then do control and C. put cursor on the message box, then do control and v. Add yourself to the bottom.

You don't have to put your weight if you'd prefer not to, just put how much you'd like to lose.

Any problems let us know.

aww sarah - looks over shoulder and quickly gives a very un mn ((HUG)) you have suffered - i am so sorry xx

little steps and you will get there, well done for losing 6 stone before on ww - i lost 4 stone on ww so know i we can do it again

  • im about halfway through my goal, was doing very well till past month and had a real shit time in rw, but trying to get motivated again -

what will be your weigh day - most on here do mondays but i like fridays as then if have bad/boozy/piggy weekend i have 5 days to get it off

sarahmia · 22/04/2010 17:05

thanks Blondeshavemorefun...
I like fridays too, because i usually screw up over the weekend, but that is the beauty of WW.. you can screw up and still loose if your carefull the rest of the time.
sorry for your crappy time, hope its getting better..
make sure i post every friday or ill cheat

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2010 17:10

honey you will be posting several times a week a day

just pop on and talk complete bollocks, thats what i do

Poohbearsmom · 22/04/2010 17:50

Sarahmia im so very sorry you lost your baby another un-mn {{{hug}}}
iv been about 19st at the end of my 1st pregnancy id fluid etc & it was very uncomfortable being so big (major understatment i couldnt even walk!) its hard being overweight & pg & with ds2 i started at 14 & went to about 16st and was still able to go for a walk n the park with dh &ds1 two days before havin ds2, next time id love to be a healthy weight im pg but that wud mean at least 4 and half st to have a healthy bmi at any rate... But i just find looking at the whole thing too stressin and always jus turned me to food n the depression of the reality of it all but one day i woke up again at the crack of dawn cause of the pain in my back i had a cry & said enough is enough im not going to let my life be ruled or ruined by the crap im eatin, id eaten it all, tasted it all, gorged on it all! but it was as if id found my fat switch & turned it off! there is soooo much lovely healthy food out there for us to eat 90% of the time & the odd treat well that just kick starts the metabolism but as Blondes always reminds us a lb A wk is 4st in the year & when any Of us slip up there is always some1 here to remind us this isnt bout a quick fix (they dont work) its the long haul and we'l do it together! i really hope you stick with us
would you like any recipes or anything?? If you'd like to log ur food/menu feel free some of us do now & again or foodfocus is handy (& free) if you'd prefer. Anything goes really

JODIEwantsanewname · 22/04/2010 18:06

Welcome Sarah (and can I give you another Un-MN hug too?) I agree with PMB about having a 'fat switch' it's a good analogy! These girls on here are a constant source of encouragment! Better than going to weekly meetings, they are here EVERY DAY to keep you on the straight and narrow!!!!

Just a quickie one as I'm about to bath the horrors kids

Blondes glad your mum is home and well

Trimmer Meant to ask about your dad! I had forgotten he'd slipped too, it's awful how slow the recovery process is isn't it! I'm back at the consultant in January, when he wants to x-ray as he thinks my bones are now too close together and he thinks it will inhibit movement in the long term, so more surgery possibly but I'm not thinking about it for the moment! I have a cracking scar though! It's about 6 inches long

Poohbearsmom · 22/04/2010 18:13

Am such a thick sure your prob tracking with ww anyways never mind just as Blondes said come here as often as ya can like and talk about whatever ya like
we usually get around to food...not always
you may see my bum mentioned now and again just ignore that!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2010 18:41

we also like tomention sausages

right off to the gym for another bc session
