do ya cool the chick first Blondes? That actually sounds like a pie mine would go for, they wont touch white sauce! Ds1 is a fusspot & ds2 is his biggest fan so of course will follow his lead...
Am really scared of dogs Blondes i once stayed on a bus about 5 stops too many cause there was a guide dog up the front & i was out in a cold sweat havin palpations OVER A GUIDE DOG!!! yes i 100% know how stupid that is cause theres prob no safer dog n the world but even the thought of "meetin" my new 4 legged neighbour makes my tummy do flip's

Poohbearsmom · 21/04/2010 09:53

Ment to ask if ya cook the chicken

GettinTrimmer · 21/04/2010 11:23

Morning all

I did my exam yesterday evening, definitely went better than last year

Managed to keep talking in French anyway even though I didn't know all the vocabulary for what I wanted to say!

PBM your new place sounds nice. Sure your curtains are fab, I have to replace the voiley things I shrank, not got around to it.

Is it only big dogs that scare you? I know my mum was bitten by an alsation as a child, but she's Ok with big gentle dogs now.

Sorry to hear your test results will take a while. Are you feeling a bit better in yourself?

blondes that dinner sounds nice and low fat for points.

bebe I know what you mean, my friend hates anyone saying anything to her about diet stuff, I'm worried I've upset her as it's a sensitive issue.

bebejones · 21/04/2010 12:01

Blondes - dinner sounds really yummy!

PBM - I am not a big fan of dogs either, but tolerate them better now than I used to! Give me a cat any day!!

Re injections, I have to see a specialist nurse at the hospital just for the first one then I do them at home by myself!

Have made some double choc chip cookies to use up some of DD's Easter chocolate stash! Needless to say I won't be sampling them! Did have to sacrifice a chocolate chicken for them though!

Will be having my non-cheese fake carbonara for dinner to use up the creme fraiche. Did the big Tesco shop first thing this morning, I love seeing a full fridge! Will try to do some proper exercise today, even if it is just Wii boxing. I just have so much work to do on this stuff I'm doing for my mum & I can only do that and the exercise when/if DD naps!

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2010 14:11

TRIMMER sorry missed milk bit, 1/4p skim =.5, ss 1p and ff 2 - so yes 1/2p ss= 2p - what a waste - could have a curly wirly for that lol and normally hr of exercise that makes you pant (not sex) is 4p

PBM basically a casserole with mash pot - but he cooked and washed up, so i love him dont have to cook the chuck if you cook pie for 45mins - and if you have a fear, you have a fear - whether dogs/spiders etc

BEBE kick dh and insist he starts dieting, you said he has a lot to lose, so tell him to watch superskinny/fat show on ch4 and they have a section where they show severaly overweight people who wish they tried to lose weight 20stone ago but didnt and now cant walk and one was sobbing that may not see live to see his children grow up

TRIMMER again - well done for exam going well and yes pointed it as 6, but sure it was less as dh diodnt use butter

must try fake carbonara one day - might get some lf fraiche - hell we could have sauasge carbonara the way dh is going

biscuits sound yummy and lol at sacrificing a chicken

i have really been RREALLY good this week and hope to lose a lb on friday and start back losing each week again

bebejones · 21/04/2010 15:33

Well DD was in her room for 2 hours...not napping! Thought she was coz it had gone quiet but she had managed to get a load of books of her bookcase & had been sat 'reading' in her cot!! So managed to do a lot of work on my mums stuff but no exercise. Will do some Wii when she goes to bed later, have walked alot today & barely sat down with doing housework this morning & baking!

DH refuses to watch those shows, says it's all scare tactics Well yeah, duh!!! We all really hoped he would lose weight when DD was born but as usual he is all talk no action!

Will be walking the 15mins up hill to visit my friend 2moro morning so the DD's can play. She is potty training her DD so is housebound & pregnant so shall take her some cookies!

GettinTrimmer · 21/04/2010 16:40

We now have a wii!! My dh ordered one and it has just arrived. What can you do on yours Bebe?

Blondes - thanks for info about points

I normally watch supersize v superskinny, going to see if it's on catch up tv.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2010 17:07

We are at the park and dh just rang asking what I wanted for tea. And he suggested SAUSAGES!!!! I kid you not. What the hell

I will have to call him sausage king!!!

Might have salmon and rice for tea. Again been good at ate a marmite rice cake instead of a chocolate doughnut that the kids ate.

GettinTrimmer · 21/04/2010 17:33

There's alot you can do with a sausage y'know!

GettinTrimmer · 21/04/2010 17:33
Wink
bebejones · 21/04/2010 18:41

Blondes - you are sausage obsessed!!!

Trimmer - We don't have the Wii fit yet, we were going to get one this week but DH spent the money at the pub!! I do boxing & tennis on Wii sports, but I get up & am usually fairly vigourous in my efforts! (Especially at tennis coz I am useless!)

My house smells of choc chip cookeies Also made some rhubarb compote earlier so mught have some of that in a bit with some lf creme fraiche, yum

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2010 19:17

Bebe I love rhubarb and it is the only fruit on ww that is free so have it with canderell fir a 0 point snack/pudding

it's not me that is sausage obsessed. But is dh. He buys them. I don't as so bad on ww

def having salmon for tea. What is everyone else having?

I'm chilling in the bath and can hear dh hoovering. He is well trained lol

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/04/2010 20:23

Bebe.... How can you bear to do baking and not eat it all?!

Jodie - You are amazing on detox!

Hope all are well... Does anyone know how many calories are in a pint of semi skimmed milk? I think I am having more cals than I realise with my copious coffeeintake ( sorry Jodie!)

lassie or rather DH is currently in New York. He could have got a flight to the UK tonight but BA were selling tickets at £6000. Having said that, that may have been First Class. Anyway he had already organised flights home via Philadelphia and Dublin, arrivingat heathrow mid Friday afternoon. Just in time to come away for DDs birthday treat! God he'll be knackered!! Then on Sunday he's off to Saudi Arabia. No peace for the wicked!

I'll be impressed if he gets here, fingers crossed all please! X.

Poohbearsmom · 21/04/2010 20:23

Evening guys jus ate yummy h.m bread rolls
Trimmer i wish i cud speak french it'd come n handy wit the relations... im grand thanks got a cold & have the odd staby pain but grand really i wouldnt go petting any dog but wouldnt feel panic over the little ones... it was either a golden retriever or a lab that attacked me (it was big & yellow & made me loose alot of blood... that i rem) it was my 1st night as an aupair n Sardinia my first time outa irl it was my families dog i was a bit tipsy cause we'd gone for a meal from the airport then on home really late to be attacked by the dog before id even got n the door of the house! I grew up on a farm with dogs & loved em but am terrified since that day
Bebe my family has decided to put our feet down with my brother, if he cant/wont make the decision to stop damaging himself with food then no one of us will enable or faciliate him. its a diff situation then with ur dh but would it make any difference if u refused to buy/cook any unhealthy food??
Blondes u deserve at least a lb for resisting choc doughnuts alone! & do tell your dh if he insists of leading you astray with his sausages then at least make em da vegi type

Poohbearsmom · 21/04/2010 20:39

Passes out at 6000 grand plane tickets!! will wave to the sky on friday piste, hope he's gettin ye all a present from every city

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2010 20:44

Go lassie go. Be fab if gets home for dd birthday

maybe I should make dh play hide the sausage lol

haven't got a clue about calories in milk - sorry

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/04/2010 21:12

Thank you all yes we want him here. This weekend treat was organised to celebrate her birthday as a whole family. She has even chosen to keep her prsents until he comes home. So not good if Lassie doesn't make it home :-(

still we'll see, at least he gets an unexpected trip to the emerald isle home to the World Famous PBM

bebejones · 21/04/2010 22:52

Good luck MrPiste!!

TBH the smell of the cookies really satisfied me enough. I love baking, & I hate waste so always use up odds and ends of stuff rather than throw it away (if I can), hence the freezer full of banana bread! Plus I don't mind DD eating cakes/biscuits I make coz at least I know what's in them IYSWIM!

Rhubarb had brown sugar in it, but still clocked up at a lot less than 100cals a portion. Was super yummy! I like it best with a meringue nest & greek yoghurt Mmmmmmmmmmm! Also good in crumble! What a versatile fruit!!

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 22/04/2010 08:24

Morning all

piste hope dh makes it home. As for milk - from one coffee fiend to another - I was overestimating milk as I like it milky.

1/2 pt (300g) 2% fat - 150 cals (semi)?
ditto 1% fat - 129 cals (sk)
ditto 3.7% fat - 192 cals (full fat)

blondes Never knew that about rhubarb! Good luck with today.

PBM My spoken French isn't great, but I can make myself understood at least. Another exam in May. Hope you bro can get to grips, and can understand why you're scared of dogs after that experience

bebe That rhubarb compote sounds gorgeous - how did you make it? Assume you just boiled it up with some sugar.

bebejones · 22/04/2010 09:16

Trimmer - Chop rhubarb into chunks & put in oven proof dish, add grated zest & juice of one orange, 50g light brown sugar & tsp ground ginger. Give it a stir & put in oven uncovered for 30-40mins at 200C. It's nice warm with some ice cream but that's a bit bad on diet. So I let it cool & keep it in the fridge. It stays chunkier if you cook it in the oven, otherwise it goes a bit mushy!

Bet your spoken French is better than mine, I can understand alot more than I can say, but then I haven't 'done' French since I was about 14! Fingers crossed you did well, when do you get your results?

Off out in a bit to friends, glad the sun is out means we can walk...up the big hill!

OP posts:
JODIEwantsanewname · 22/04/2010 09:43

Morning all

Hows it going?

Blondes I think your new name should be Blondeshavemorefunwithsausages!!!! Did you hae a nice non-pork dinner last night?

Piste good luck for your hubby getting back for tomorrow, he really has had to make an effort hasn't he!!! (understatement emoticon)

Bebe at your DH, surely he should be losing weight now you are cooking sensible meals? My DH has lost more than me his metabolism is amazing! I don't know what to suggest, my DH is the same wen I mention giving up smoking, his hackles rise and he gets all defensive and shirty, he knows it's wrong, but I don't know how else to broach it, I guess he'll give up in his own time

PMB Glad you are in love with your curtains and looking forward to moving! The dog will be fine, I'm sure there won't be any reason that you'd 'bump in to' it, but after your experience I can see why you are scared

Trimmer glad you did well in your exam, when do you get the results? My French is OK, but as my ma and pa are in Spain, my spanish is much better, but, like Bebe's French, I can understand more than I can speak, and I can make myself understood when I am there, which I suppose is the point

I'm still de-toxing (in the loosest sense of hthe word) I am still off coffee and tea (it's amazing how little milk we are getting through, just made me realsie how much I was drinking!) and having at least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, and managing to stay under 1200 cals, and been running.... That dress better bloody fit me in 3 weeks!!!!!!!

Poohbearsmom · 22/04/2010 10:10

Good luck with the hill Bebe shall have to get rhubarb it sounds lovely that way
Piste its all working out for the best Mr.Piste gets to visit me! What more could ya ask for after a wk travelin round the globe
Blondes hows ur mum today?
Just had the yummiest yogurt ever twas a Nom 0%fat senga strawberry 73 cals per 100g & is an 180g pot my brain ant workin well enuf to work it out but thats pretty good for such a lovely creamy yog... jus thought id share

Poohbearsmom · 22/04/2010 10:20
