Thanks PBM, haven't made my mind up about DD yet. She knows she is doing it, she just can't seem to hold it. She gets so upset it's just horrid.

Had my banana custard. My throat is very very red & swollen feel really rubbish. Made custard with skimmed milk & sweetner so very good really. Prob just gonna have soup for dinner as really don't feel up to much at all. Got a tonne of work to do for DH. He just doesn't understand that I need to finish this sewing for my mum urgently too. Need to split myself into about 5 different people right now! Sorry to bring you all down with my moaning. Will snap out of it later, especially if DD manages a wee in the potty!!

Hi all, hope you are feelling bettedr after the weekend excesses!!!

PMB and anyone else who wants a new recipe, I tried this the other nght and it was delicious,

Sweet Chilli Chicken

Serves 4

4 Garlic Cloves - Crushed
4fl oz/113ml Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
2 Tbsp Harissa Powder
12 skinless chicken thighs
Salt and pepper
1/2 lime

Pre-heat oven to 220c/400f/Gas 6
Place the garlic, Soy Sauce, Sweet Chilli Sauce and Harrissa Powder in a small bowl and mix, pour over chicken and toss together to coat evenly

Place chicken in a single layer on a non sick baking tray, season and bake for 25-30 mins, or until cooked through

Remove from oven and serve with the lime juice squeezed over.

I served it with potato wedges and it was 'yummy in my tummy' and really simple!

Anyway. I have eaten my daily calorie intake in Jammy Dodgers today but have done 3 hours of ironing and am cleaning the house tonight once my monsters beautiful boys have gone to bed!

GettinTrimmer · 02/06/2010 10:12

Morning all

It's more difficult than I thought to find a dress that fits me

I tried on a dress in Monsoon, size 14, but couldn't get the zip done up on the boobs. A 16 would be too big everywhere else.

Anybody else with the same problem?

Just off to start a thread in Style and Beauty.

bebe I think your dd has done really well, the idea is there. If she's not ready yet she'll remember what it's for when you try again.

PBM Yes, the wedding sounds lovely, we got married with the registrar coming out to a hotel, it was a lovely laid back affair.

laughalot · 02/06/2010 11:49

Trimmer I have a lovely one I wore for my brothers wedding its a 16 but small 16 and accomadated my huge bust . I am happy for you to borrow it if you like and i can post some pics its just a thought.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/06/2010 14:32

sorry manic few days as im off im dashing around the m25

diet hasnt been good so will prob gain this week but hell i deserve too

i dont like maxi dress's, too long,

sorry to hear that dd pt isnt going well

and hangovers - well sure i will have one friday am as going to see my friend and there WILL be wine!!

bebejones · 02/06/2010 15:23

Trimmer - have you looked at the dresses in Bravissimo? They are cut to accomodate bigger boobs but don't gape everywhere else!

Trying to do a million things while DD is napping so will catch up with you all better later on! x

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 02/06/2010 15:57

bebe yes, Bravissimo look the best for what I need. How is that nasty throat today? Hope you are OK.

laughalot that is really kind, I want to buy a dress anyway (it's been years since I've done that!) so I might take you up on it if I can't find anything.

blondes I had too much cheese/oatcakes and bns spicy pickle for lunch ('twas gorgeous!), not really following anything atm. Hope I can at least lose 0.5lb this week! Another kick up the bum needed.

PBM yes, it's a great idea to camp out, the place is miles away from anywhere, so it's the best option. We just need to get hold of a tent. I've been meaning to ask, have you a date yet for the op?

I'm not having one of the best days ever, have been arguing with dh. Over the most ridiculous things as well.

Murtette · 02/06/2010 21:25

I weighed in at WW this morning and had sts. Pleasantly surprised given how much I'd eaten this weekend but means I now have 5lbs to lose in the next 10 days if I want to get to 12st 6 for DP' bday...hmmm... might re-think that goal!

PBM - did you make a cake at the weekend? Which one did you go for in the end?

Gettin - you are wearing a decent bra when trying on dresses, aren't you? It will make such a difference to your shape. Have you tried Dorothy Perkins? They've got a new line which does Monsoon style clothes for a fraction of the price. I know one of my big boobed friends gets her event sort of clothes from Phase Eight & Jigsaw. Another friend just buys what she likes in the size which accomodates her boobs and goes to a dressmakers and gets them altered.

Poohbearsmom · 03/06/2010 08:09

Hi guys
well i have a little suprise! Can ye keep a secret??? Im pregnant!!! "knew" i was as have been sick and just knew iykwim? But POAS this morn and got a BFP! im so happy but bricking it at the same time... Can i still hang out and healthy eat with ye?

GettinTrimmer · 03/06/2010 08:20

WOW!!! Congratulations PBM!! Delighted for you.

All the more reason to stay with us and eat healthily. How many weeks are you?

I've found a dress from Bravissimo, I will have to link it later.

murtette I got measured properly for a bra a while ago, I had apparently been wearing too big a back size for years. Thanks for advice about phase 8 and jigsaw. I haven't been clothes shopping for years (well, apart from ASDA).

I read somewhere a good way of losing weight is breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. I feel like I need to do something a bit different, so I am trying that.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/06/2010 10:23

PBM... So delighted for you! You must stay and eat healthily but not weigh in. Fab news!!

I am taking myself off to the naughty step tho. Seem to have completely lost momentum after my boozed up weekend and it was DS birthday yesterday so a meal out plus chocolate cake.

Someone please kick me up the a**e.

But such happy news ... Another little Pooh Bear!!

GettinTrimmer · 03/06/2010 15:23

piste Just think how fed up with ourselves we will be if we don't carry on, more wobbly than we'd like to be in that swimsuit, bit lumpy where we don't want to be....

Anybody else think of incentives/kicks up bum?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/06/2010 16:01

GT - I think my problem is that I have done better than ever before, and am now getting lots of flattering comments, I have also seen two lots of friends recently that I haven't seen for ages, so that was loads more flattery.

I'm one pound of being a healthy weight ( top end of that scale ) so have maybe got a bit cavalier?

BUT, we are also going to a wedding ( SIL's in Sept ) and DD will be a bridesmaid, so I don't want to look like a weeble.

I need more incentives because I still want to lose another stone and get back to wedding weight. Our wedding anniversary is in July - 15 years ( and never a dull moment or cross word?!)

GettinTrimmer · 03/06/2010 16:33

weeble?! I was thinking just the same, I don't want to look like the fat aunt in the wedding pictures.

That's fantastic, 1lb off a healthy weight. I have 9.5lb to go till then, but I'm the same, last time I weighed this was in 2003 when I did the Great South Run.

KWYM about the nice comments, it notices on me so much more now that I am getting below 11 1/2 stone. Still too many wobbly bits, I would like to look slim in my holiday pics.

What size will you be when the next stone is gone? You sound like you want to keep going.

GettinTrimmer · 03/06/2010 16:36

What I said about breakfast like a king...not if it's one of the Blondes's specials at Wetherspoons!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/06/2010 16:52

I am feeling better chatting to you!! I would be ten and a half stone. That would be totally amazing.

We've been doing this 6 months. That is fabulous and I can't believe we've ALL done so well. Sometimes though it is DULL and hard to keep motivated especially when it's going well funnily enough!

I also don't want to look like the Weeble Aunt in the pics. DD is now 13 and looks amazing, she is taller ( just ) than me and as bridesmaid is to have this three quarter length dress with thin shoulder straps. She will look willowy so you can see I don't want to look Weebly!! I think I need to wait to get something for me as I'm not sure what size or style will suit me then. DH said he will buy me something gorgeous! That is incentive enough!!

I will slap myself hard and get on! I expect to sts this week after my excess on our long weekend.

GettinTrimmer · 03/06/2010 17:15

Sounds like your dd will look gorgeous Piste. She's a swimmer isn't she? Hope her friend is OK.

I am going shopping with dh's niece to get dd's bridesmaid dress soon. The women on dh's side of the family are all slim and petite, I have felt like a real weeble beside them, all the more reason to carry on.

You sound like you don't have the top heavy problem when choosing dresses. You're quite tall aren't you?

I know what you mean about it getting dull, and so hard to keep going, but I have come to realise life goes on with losing weight, we need to have breaks now and then.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/06/2010 17:49

Thanks GT...DD's friend is getting lots of help from a consultant and also from the school. She still can't eat in public and was going away with DD to eat lunch with the school nurse, but before HT they just had progressed to eating on the field but separately from the others. A big step for her and massive progress, because although it wasn't really public, it was IYSWIM? DD said her friend shook the first couple of times, even though their other mates had been warned to stay clear until she and DD finished and came over to them. So sad, but she has stayed in school and hasn't had to withdraw, although I think she came very close to having to leave for a while. It will be ongoing, but you are kind to think of her!

Yes DD is a swimmer, and an all round sporty girl. She loves riding, running, tennis, netball and swims 4 times a week. She is very fit, unlike me but I was just like her when I was 13.

When we stayed with friends this weekend actually I had to text them to ask them not to talk about my weight loss with DD there, because we just never talk about diets, and she hasn't noticed anyway! So they just said I looked amazingly well when DD was there!

I am 5 foot 8, so that is fairly tall, and I have never had a top heavy problem. My mates in the old days used to call my bras 'eye patches' The other day I felt a bit uncomfortable and when I got home from work realised I had DD's bra on! It was a 32A, the 32 bit was snug but not too bad, the A was rather too small as I'm a C!

My weight has always been on my a**e and my thighs. I have broad shoulders so I shall never be a real slinky malinky

Gt .... lets vow not to be Wedding Weebles! We owe it to ourselves and our DDs!!

Poohbearsmom · 04/06/2010 14:30

Thanks Trimmer and Piste im delighted im just 4wks 4dys very early days but am so excited just had to tell ye! Have been very naughty food wise all dh's fault... He got a cake from the bakery to celebrate twas yummy but back to healthy today and had a scrummy veg curry for lunch.
Thanks Jodie for that recipe it sounds lovely myself and dh love spicey so will def give it a try
Murtette i did Bebe's crumble cake at the wkend and it was smashin thanks again Bebe! Still have two big tubs of mascarpone in the fridge never got to make the lemon cake as there was just too much food! Hows the weaning going btw?
Piste lol at you goin out in dd's bra! How'v you found the diet today? You have done so brilliant it would be fab to be back to your wedding weight best of luck
Blondes how was weigh in today??
Have a lovely weekend all xxx

GettinTrimmer · 04/06/2010 16:03

Afternoon all

piste I kept meaning to ask about your dd's friend, sure she will carry on making progress. You must be so proud of your dd. I wasn't sporty at all at that age. In fact, I have no sporting talent, but exercise to keep fit. You will be verrrry slinkly at 10.7 stone, especially at 5ft 8.

on being able to wear dd's bra! I remember when I was 14 my mum said eye patches joking about with her work colleagues, about my size 10 bikini...those were the days!

blondes How was weigh-in? Hope all's well, not seen you for a couple of days. Sure you are still manically busy.

bebe Hope you are OK. How's throat?

PBM You are allowed some cake now and again! Take care x

murtette I agree 5lb in 10 days is strict. I suppose doable if you really put your mind to it.

sarah I know that edam is 3 points for 40 grammes (blondes, correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know about sushi. Are you back on the wagon with us?

laughalot I've ordered a dress and strapless bra now from Bravissimo. Can't wait to try it on. How's things with you?

jodie/mummymels/everybody how are you doing?

bebejones · 04/06/2010 19:19

Sorry have been AWOL, have had a lot happening! Still feeling a bit full of cold & still have the sore throat so mostly been eating soup!

Have stopped the potty training with DD and gone back to just putting her on it at nappy changes and if/when she asks.

My SIL had her baby, 6 weeks early today due to complications so everthing here is very tense.

Will try to catch up best I can!

PBM - congrats!! So when are we expecting this latest little Pooh Bear? Veg curry sounds yummy! Glad you liked the crumble cake!

Trimmer - which dress did you order? I have been dribbling over one on there for ages!

Piste - wow, your DD is very sporty! Hoping my DD inherits DH's sportiness as I was useless!

Murtette - well done on sts, 5lbs tricky but doable. I always seem to have a big loss after AF so hoping for one this week as have hardly eaten either! (Stupid bug/sore throat) Been drinking plenty of water, maybe worth a go, and can't be bad in this heat either!

Got so much sewing to do & it's stab night so best get on with my 'work' so I can slob about after injection!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/06/2010 22:41

Just me and DD here this weekend, DH on a stateside trip until Sunday, DS at scout camp.

DD and I watched The Devil Wears Prada and ate strawberries and popcorn. I concentrated on the strawberries!

Bebe - hope the new baby gets stronger by the minute. One of my friends had a baby yesterday, a week late nearly. This baby was an unexpected bonus to their family, her other two are 20 and 16!

bebe here

this is the one!

Oh, and I lost 1lb this week. After all the pigginess at the beginning of the weigh-in week I am really pleased

piste good restraint on the popcorn front!
