Disenchanted3 · 28/05/2010 13:00

Hi girls

god, you are all doing so well

I've been doing crap.

I really need to get back on track,.

im scared to weigh myself in case ive put it all back on

GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2010 13:42

Afternoon ladies

I am didn't even get an interview for that job I applied for, even though I fitted the person specification.

And been a bit naughty, had kit kat ice cream last night, just had a small kit kat with a coffee after lunch today. I think the exercise this week with a bit of luck would have blasted it off, I will find out tomorrow at weigh-in.

PBM sure you've done the right thing by going with your instincts about the pre-school. I loved my dd's pre-school, quite miss it really. They were very child-centred, the children chose the topics. I am loving the sound of those cakes!!

blondes well done on sts. I am hoping for a loss tomorrow.

If no loss, at least I have an evening out to cheer myself up - just arranged a baby sitting swap with a friend. She's doing mine this week, and dh and I are going to pictures to see Mel Gibson in Robin Hood. He's supposed to have an Irish accent in it tried to base it on Michael Parkinson but it's gone a bit wrong apparently.

piste wow! size 12 skirt.

blondes love the sound of that sausage pie, and enjoy satc2. Let us know what it's like.

laughalot It's good to refocus, something like a holiday will do it. Yes, good idea, start again on Monday. And we're in it for the long haul, etc, etc!!

Dis Good to see you!! I noticed on another
thread you're thinking of doing slimfast, good luck with it.

I put on 1lb last week and sts the week before that, but I refocused by making a list of the reasons why I want to carry on losing weight, it focused me a bit.

bebejones · 28/05/2010 14:01

Dis - Welcome back!

Blondes - very [envy[ of you seeing SATC, not going til next week & I can't wait!!
Sausage Pie sounds yummy, I am doing sausage casserole tonight, so will only have a tiny amount of mash!

Piste - yay on size 12 skirt!

Bought some Mickey Finn & Raspberry Absolut for shots & a friend is bringing Tequilla...2moro night could get VERY messy!!

DD loved swimming, and was good as gold! Swim suit was a bit saggy, and almost had a wardrobe malfunction when DD emptied a bucket of water down my front! May have to invest in a new suit

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2010 14:38

PBM I love Irish accents, just amused by Mel Gibson trying to do michael parkinson but coming out as something different. Sorry, just realised that might sound rude

GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2010 14:41

bebe glad you enjoyed swimming. Good luck with swimsuit shopping, would you go for a tankini or something similar?

Poohbearsmom · 28/05/2010 15:35

Lol Trimmer your too nice to be rude i know that! dont worry us irish take the piss on all actors who try our accents but to be honest we have so many different mad accents throughout our tiny island they couldnt win at keepin us all happy
ladies one word sums up my naughtyness today.... CREAM
Enjoy all the lovely plans/parties etc for the wkend everyone hope the weather stays nice and dare i predict 12 from our neighbour?? Il be the mn begger and plead ye all to vote irl!! have always loved eurovision but havnt seen it in the last few years, our girl this year won it for us back in our hay day (would be fantastic if she did a Johnny Logan and got it again) didnt realise it was this wk thought it was next tue, thurs and da final next sat so does that mean iv missed it Again! best of luck to ye btw if we dont have a chance il be rooting for ye of course

Poohbearsmom · 28/05/2010 16:01

Woohoo we will be in the eurovision final tomorrow
vote ireland!!!

Forgot to tell ye guess what present i got from our visitor? Only a giant box of scottish shortbread omg i havnt had it since i little girl my granny adored it and my uncle is scottish (aunts dh) and always brought it home for her am seriously giving the box come to bed eyes

RESTRAIN ME!!!

GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2010 16:08

Oh, I'm so relieved you're not offended PBM .

One of the most dreadful Irish accents I've heard was Brad Pitt's, kwym! Also Jessica Lange's scottish accent in some film sounded Swedish...

Was it fresh cream or squirty cream? I'm on the naughty step too after too much cheese and kit kat....

bebejones · 28/05/2010 16:18

Trimmer - So sorry you didn't even get an interview, their loss!

PBM - Mmmmmmm Cream, mmmmmmm shortbread yum!
I'll vote for yours if you vote for ours

OP posts:
Poohbearsmom · 28/05/2010 16:18

But thats the thing even madly awful irish accents can sound dead accurate in some parts of the country im afraid it was the real stuff... Mixed with the lemon curd.... Omg it was amazin! I ended up doing two tarts as the first tart i put too much butter in and was fallin apart on me so very quickly threw another together and had done too much lemon cream anyways so worked out great, one i topped with all diff fruit and did one with strawberrys mmmmmmm am a very bold member of this group

Poohbearsmom · 28/05/2010 16:26

Bebe you have yourself a deal lady
who ye got this year are they/he/she any good? Loved the one that won for ye a few years ago often find myself singing it round the house whats it called again? Cathrina and the waves wasnt it that sang it?
Trim im such a tool i forgot to say sorry bout the job that sucks but as Bebe said their loss! Its so hard to get jobs right now i wish you the very best of luck dear xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2010 17:35

trimmer, soz you didnt get the interview

pbm shortbread yummy

and i LOVED brads do ya like dags

Murtette · 28/05/2010 18:49

Advice needed ladies - how do I stop myself from eating DD's leftovers? She had an array of finger foods for tea but was eating them so slowly that I ended up scoffing half of them (hmmm...does that mean they weren't even leftovers?) And her yogurts are so creamy and yummy that I save the last mouthful for myself

I was supposed to go and see SATC with DD this morning (there's a Baby Scream session on at our local cinema on a Friday) but she ended up napping late so we never made it.

Bebe - you've just reminded me that I've got some Raspberry Absolut minatures in the fridge. I might have one this evening.

Have a good weekend

bebejones · 28/05/2010 19:29

Murtette - not eating DD's left overs is very hard, especially toast! (and the yummy full fat yoghurts!) Now she is older though she does object to me pinching helping! To help me, I started putting less on DD's plate to begin with & then kept topping it up as she went. That way I ended up with very little left IYSWIM as I could stop adding as she was starting to lose interest/get full.

Might have some raspberry Absolut & Cranberry juice this evening, had forgotton it was jab night so feeling rubbish now!

PBM - We have a bloke this year here song sounds a bit different now, they have slowed it down & made it less dancey I think...but you get the idea! Think Azerbaijan are the favourites!!

Got so much housework to do in the day 2moro before Party time! Oh well, it'll compensate for all the alcohol!

OP posts:
Poohbearsmom · 28/05/2010 20:38

Dono if it my phone or o2 the problem is with but i have never been able to get utube to work! It just wont play where is Azerbaijan?? I read they are the fav's too but da irish odd's have shortened since last night it says
Murtette its very hard and a real calorie sucker! When i was doing good and strict i binned everything before i could touch it! And its not in my nature to bin stuff im a total hoarder and usually always keep stuff to make something else with which is a much better way to do it really, just keep tellin yourself you are saving yourself a job for tomorrow wrap and fridge and remember EVERYTHING can be bunged into a soup pot! Your lo is still small isnt she mine i can do the dishes or whatever while they are starting their meal so im not so tempted then join them with my own healthier stuff once they scoffed a bit, that way less for me to "help" them with iyswim it really is hard to train yourself out of though we'l help ya along though

mummymels · 29/05/2010 08:57

Bebe ? What a predicament with your swimming costume. At least you managed to get through the swim without revealing all. I don?t think DD was bothered about wetting herself but I felt really bad to my friend. I didn?t think there was anyone else who admitted to watching the Eurovision. I am not alone! Your party sounds fun. Good luck with the potty training on Sunday. How are you feeling following your last jab now?

Piste ? How long is the extension kitchen to take again? How exciting that it will be started soon. We have half term next week too. Quite looking forward to not having to rush off to nursery at odd times. Wow size 12, that is brilliant. You must be feeling great. Have a lovely weekend away.

Blondes ? Wow that is brilliant measurement losses. You have done great. Well done on staying the same when you have had some treats this week. Lol on the sausage surprise but it does sound lovely.

Laughalot ? Have a lovely night out at the weekend. Good luck for the next 4 weeks until your holiday.

Disenchanted - It is so lovely to have you back. We have missed you. Don?t worry about what has happened in the past, just look into the future and if you want to get back on track I am sure you will be able to.

Trimmer ? So sorry to hear about the job but I am sure there is an even better one around the corner waiting for you. Don?t kick yourself about the kit kat and ice cream. That?s a good idea about the babysitting swap with a friend. Enjoy your night out.

PBM ? I missed the semi finals too. Very upset but would never miss the real thing. I was out the night of the first semi and had work the night of the second that had to be done that evening. What a bummer so I don?t have a clue who is through. That box of biscuits will be hard to resist.

Murtette ? I used to eat all the kids leftovers too and have to admit when I have had bad days I have done it again too. It is a really hard habit to get out of but you will do it. Just think of your diet as you are about to do it.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/05/2010 09:15

morning everyone

I am on my phone so shall keep it brief. Weighed in early as off now until late Monday. Sts and am not surprised I think I need to do something more now.

Does anyone else want to keep this thread going for longer than the summer? I was sort of hoping that we gradually achieve our targets then turn it into a maintenance thread. I think for me the dieting part will be the easiest, but the greatest challenge will be maintaining. What do all you lovely slinkies think?!

Have a good bank holiday weekend. PBM - is it a bank holiday for you?

See you all ( virtually) next week!!!!

Piste x

GettinTrimmer · 29/05/2010 10:14

Not sure what i've done there, but the second list is the correct one. I've lost 1.5lb this week

Will catch up later, dd has little friend coming soon and I have to do my exercise dvd first

Disenchanted3 · 29/05/2010 10:40

Urgh

I've put 5lbs back on

have been on hold though, at least I have acknowledged it and am going to get rid rather than keeping going till its all back on!

gutted though

GettinTrimmer · 29/05/2010 11:13

piste good idea about keeping the thread going, taking into account holidays etc over the summer it might even take me till september as I don't lose very quickly.

I am just reading a book called Bad Science, apparently very difficult to make lifelong changes, but it CAN be done!!

PBM dh has just told me Azerbaijan is part of former USSR, think it borders Russia. Those countries normally do alright in the Euro, don't they?

I won't be watching tonight, going out to see Russell Crowe doing his Irish/Midlands accent!!

bebe Bet you're knee deep in housework atm, I am just about to do the same. Enjoy tonight.

Dis Sorry to hear about the 5lb, it will go soon. Over easter I put 3.5lb on in a week, tis so easy.

mummymels enjoy tonight also!

Thanks all for commiserations about job. It was a few too many hours anyway with long days sometimes of 9 to 7, will keep looking.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/05/2010 14:31

SATC WAS FAB!!!!! LOVED IT!!!!!

MURTETTE as soon as dd finished squirt with bleach/washing up liquid

BEBE hope party goes well

PBM must be your phone,im on o2 and can do utube no probs

MELS thanks, hoping go lower is still working and try sausage suprise minus the potato (carbs)

PISTE DEF keep thread going, most of us are doing well, but even when got to target its still good to diet eat healthily or you will find yourselfin my position, losing the weight then lbs creeping back on and before you know it you will have put on some/half of your weight back on, like i did

TRIMMER erll done on 1.5 lb loss

DIS ((hugs)) sorry you have gained 5 lbs but least you are doing something about it now rather then let all creep back on and back to where you started

im out tonight at F&B and cinema for friends birthday so poor mrblondes has been abandended again

went to the gym this morning and saw 2 people there that i havent seen for a while and both said im looking trimmer

sure i wont be after eating tonight lol

bebejones · 30/05/2010 08:55

Ouchy! I feel rough as hell! Had forgotten I am not 18 and therefore I can't drink like I used to...plus being 3.5st lighter didn't help (or maybe it was the bottle of wine, the vodka & cranberry & the 8 shots of Mickey Finn!!! ) Was very very sick! Will be paying for it later I'm sure!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, I would like to crawl into a dark hole somewhere, but I have a toddler to potty train!
