Nice new home for us now that March is over!

Laughalot - ouch!!! Poor you, cool shower and aftersun (I keep ours in the fridge so it's extra cooling) hope it heals quick!

Blondes - very of your tan!!

PBM - people always say that to me too! Lots of 'you look pale, are you alright' I always look like this!! (Well, pale with freckles in the summer!) No idea about the laminate, sorry!

Have put all the grass seed down on our back lawn...it's still not level, but is better than it was. Objective this year is just to have grass, we will worry about levelling it out at a later date I think...too late now! Need to sort the path out (very weedy!!) paint the wall & sort out the borders (just neaten up & define them a bit) then it will be more garden like & less overgrown!

Forgot my most exciting news of the day...I have been wearing my school hockey team polo shirt...from when I was 15!!!! Not only did it fit (it is a slim fit one) but it was loose & comfortable! Haven't worn it for 8 years or so, it has sentimental value so never threw it out!

Good luck for 2moro girlies, TTFN!

I am here and I've weighed in, Another 1lb ON for me this week. I really need a big kick up the bum to get me back on the wagon...

Can't blame anyone but myself really.

Blondes I am the same with the sun, I love it and love feeling the heat of it on my back/face! I have creamed and am a nice colour too, DH however didn't and has burnt his back while tinkering with his bike today!

Bebe you will be surprised about garening, it's very calorie friendly! you won't wait for DH to get up off his backside help you in the future, you'll be out there everyday digging and weeding and mowing the lawn!

PMB not sure about the laminate, sorry, but I hope you find an answer soon!

I know I've missed alot of people, but I;ve not really caught up properly as I;m knackered, I've had a busy weekend, MIL 70th birthday party today, so lovely and warm, and my god-sons 3rd birthday party yesterday, so horrible and sweaty, 2.5 hours in soft play hell while ot was 27 degrees outside .

I've also had some bad news today, my mum and dads dog (well, she's 13 so was the family dog really) had a heart attack or a stroke this morning, she's not well at all and mum and dad are going to have to make a decision tomorrow whether to put her to sleep or not They live in Spain, so can't even give her a cuddle

Poohbearsmom · 23/05/2010 22:37

Chin up murtette ya never know it could still be off!
Bebe snap! We'v been mad at the gardening lately too my goodness no one would believe how awful it was the stone to soil ratio was def in favour of the stones! We dug it up (on good advice we recieved) twas bloody hard and removed rocks bigger then the kids heads! All sorts of rubbish and crap da builders just didntgiveashitabout forgot to remove... Wire, Broken glass! But we half filled (couldnt lift if any fuller) 19 heavy duty bin lines sack things by the end! And there are still soooo many ikle stones but to hell wit it we'v done our best... We put down 5 giant bags of compost and box of grass seeds and a few flower seed packets i picked up in lidl and a wee shrub which looks quite lonely... But altho its only been a couple of days its already started to spout a few tufts of grass thanks to the lovely sunshine no doubt but im so happy bout it poor dh's hands are still in a bad way sadly but he wouldnt listen to me givingout advising to wear gloves, men... He left sweat and blood out there so cant complain (this time...) hope your garden turns out lovely bebe, twill be so much fun for dd im dyin to get a swing seat for me and a slide for the boys when ours is sorted, am such a kid cause i just cant wait!
Blondes tall, tanned, toned, blonde! My mum is blonde and goes out normal to cut the hedge/go for a short walk whatever she'l come back wit a georgous golden tan i go under the sun 10min i fry! Not fair

pbm. Thx. Really pleased and proud of dh. Business is hopefully taking off again.

Murtette · 24/05/2010 10:26

1lb off for me despite the weekend's naughtiness. I think that that means I've finally lost 5% of my body weight since starting this.

Bebe - when I updated the list then I noticed you've only got another stone to go to your target weight...and isn't that the target weight you chose based on BMI rather than that which you'd originally chosen (if that makes sense?).

Actually, looking at the list, loads of you have got less than a stone to go. Well done to all of you!

Jodie - poor doggy! Hate it when loved family pets get sick!

1lb on isn't the end of the world. Tuck in to salads and grilled meats while the weather is hot & I'm sure it'll come off again!

Gardening is definately the best calorie burner...better than doing the dvd!

Blondes - well done to Mr Blondes, fab news, have a celebratory sausage perhaps?!

Murtette - what a good memory you have! I originally said I'd aim for 11st but to be a 'healthy' BMI I need to be at least/most (depending how you look at it ) 10st 7lbs. Figured I might as well aim for that as it was only another half stone & it'd make a big difference. Obviously I would like to be less just so I have a bit of a buffer zone! But 1 stone to go, and starting to really believe I can do it. We ALL can do it!

PBM - hoping my lawn comes in quick, my cat has been out scrabbling about in it so just know it's gonna be all patchy! been and watered it this morning. Starting to like this gardening lark, especially since it burns the calories like you wouldn't believe!

I have 3 nearly red strawberries!! I am so excited, just want to eat them!

Done all my housework for the day, too hot to do anymore! Have made some fruit juice ice lollies for DD & may have to indulge later! Going to soft play with some friends after lunch so will sweat off some more weight I hope! Would rather be outside but this has been arranged for ages! Just hope it isn't too busy, fingers crossed most people will be outside enjoying the sunshine rather than in the greenhouse!!

well done bebe 4lbs is fantastic! Gardening is super and great to see results from your sweat can i ask how da hell you got all your housework done by 11am?? With a nearly 2yo to look after at the same time? Super woman alert! Iv fed us, hovered, roasted some peppers and did some more prep for dinner this eve, given the boys a bath, taken in some clothes from outside cause its threatening rain but dats it... Still have to clean the down stairs floors, make lunch, clean windows and sitting rm and am... Entertain the boys... Iv still got a full load in the machine to do but cant due to the weather and a almost full basket of washin in the bathroom too! Need a housekeeper me thinks... sorry for whingeing am not good at the housey stuff secrets needed!!!
Blondes im so glad business is pickin up, after all the stress ye have gone through ye deserve a break hows your mum keepin btw?

Poohbearsmom · 24/05/2010 12:00

No need to update me btw cause i "forgot" to ask for my 2lb gain last wk to be updated so just cancels that out... O well a loss is a loss

GettinTrimmer · 24/05/2010 12:14

Afternoon ladies

Just done my French exam, got a grotty cold so didn't sleep much last night, so am a bit zoned out atm. Apologies if I don't make much sense, just skim read the posts.

jodie you and me both with a 1lb on this week.

Sorry to hear about dog

PBM Very big well done on your 2lb

murtette well done on your 1lb.

bebe we are now the same weight!! Very well done. Same height as well too I think.

Right, I have given myself a kick up the backside. Written down 5 reasons why I want to get down to 10 stone 7 (or a bit less):

DD bridesmaid at niece's wedding and don't want to look like the tubby Aunt in the photos, holiday, to be a healthy weight, change unhealthy habits and to fit into some really nice summer clothes not worn for years.

My dh also said I don't complain about being so tired. Also feel better looking more slimmer more like myself

Murtette · 24/05/2010 13:11

Gettin - your post reminds me that I've thought for a while that we should list the differences we've noticed since we started losing weight, such as not being so tired. What else have you noticed?

Jodie - I mainly came back on here today as I realised I'd forgotten to sympathise about your dog. I do feel for you. Any updates?

PBM - you've done more than me. I never realised I'd do so much domestic drudgery whilst on mat leave. I also feel guilty for not having appreciated how much my Mum did when I lived at home - no wonder she sometimes nagged!

Bebe - I only remembered as I had the same issue in that I have to be 10lbs 6 to be a healthy weight. Hmmm - still 2 and a half stone to go. On a quick reckoning, I get you to have lost more than 20% of your body weight but not quite 25% so it could well be 24%. Isn't that amazing to think you've lost a quarter of your body weight?!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2010 13:45

Hello all

Hope you are all enjoying the sun again today, we went camping at the weekend, it was gorgeous but sooo cold at night!

Am going to read what's been going on with everyone, but am pleased to say I lost another pound, one more and I will be an official healthy weight ( albeit at the top end of the scale!)

JODIEwantsanewname · 24/05/2010 16:12

Hi all and well done to everyone esp Bebe thats a huge amount!

Trimmer we can do it, that 1lb will be off again next week.

Well, maddydog was put down this afternoon, she had another episode last night and that made up mum and dad's mind. I'm so but I know it was for the best, Mum is distraught (Sp?) I think I'm more upset for her than the loss of the dog IYKWIM? Thanks everyone for their kind words.

Anyway I'd better get off and get the kids tea before they empty my fridge. I'm having Tuna Pasta Bake for tea I think, either that or HomeMade Pizza with salad. Not sure yet, see what I feel like cooking later.

JODIEwantsanewname · 24/05/2010 16:14

Piste sorry missed your post, where did you go camping? I love camping, but our tent broke on the last trip last year and we still need to replace it.

Poohbearsmom · 24/05/2010 17:25

Tuna pasta bake mmm love anything pasta based mmm iv done a risotto but was 'being adventurous' and tried to do the rice with passata instead of stock and chopped tin toms which i usually do and its more like mulsh then risotto now i also burned the peppers and had to throw one as it was just yuck! I can see turned up noses already... Tis a pain in the arse being married to a man that can cook better then you sometimes sooooo not going dumpin it and doin sumit else just too much of a waste even if it does look crap should still be edible...... what else is on the menu's tonight? O lads before i forget guess what i did earlier? Dropped my soddin phone in the loo AGAIN! Pulled it apart straight away and left it in the sun and its workin grand but has condensation under the screen... I know, i know...

Poohbearsmom · 24/05/2010 17:29

Forgot to say congrats Piste your camping sounds fun id be more of a hotel girl myself... Altho iv actually only stayed in 3 hotels ever need more holidays!
Trimmer well done on gettin through your exam very hard to do when your not well, hope you relax now for the eve

bebejones · 24/05/2010 20:58

Jodie - so sorry about the poor doggy

Trimmer - well done on getting through the exam feeling rough!

Piste - I used to like camping, but camping with DH is irritating coz he gets so grumpy & we end up arguing, takes all the fun out of it! Well done on your 1lb as well...nearly there!

PBM - My housework is very laid back housework. Today I hoovered downstairs & put a load of washing on & did the washing up! My living room is the tidiest room in my house, the rest is a little chaotic! I wouldn't mind a man that cooks better than me, I'd just like one that cooks...even just occasionally! Putting stuff in microwave is about the limit of DHs cooking ability!

Murtette - along the lines of noticing changes since losing weight, at soft play today I was chasing DD around, climbing up stuff with her, bouncing, going down slides & through tunnels...I would never have been able to do that before (part of the reason we never went) it was fantastic! Not only could I fit on/through things today I have more energy as well. I don't feel so self conscious all the time either!

Had a lovely time with friends at soft play & DD LOVED it! We were there nearly 2 hours & it was boiling but thankfully virtually empty! Had a sneaky slush puppy, but figured it's mostly ice! Got back quite late after picking DH up from work so had a ready meal (after I beratted DH before about only microwave cooking...but it's not like I do it every day!!) Was nice though. DD didn't like her ice lolly, so will prob end up eating them all myself! really pleased it's going to get a bit cooler, been so hot today, my poor hanging basket was looking decidedly droopy this evening! Also bloody cat has scrabbled up half the earth I spent all afternoon yesterday levelling out & raking & putting seed on! Early night for me tonight, knackered after today!

GettinTrimmer · 25/05/2010 09:41

Morning all

Just updated myself to add the 1lb gain this week and adjust my goal weight.

Murtette good idea to list changes we've noticed since losing weight. As well as being less tired (also down to eating more balanced diet and increasing protein) and fitting into some summer clothes - my skin is in better condition, no spots appearing. I can also stride uphill to the school without being out of breath!

I also feel I'm looking more like my old self before having dd, when I was safely under 12 stone. It's been years though since I've been under 11 stone.

bebe You must have felt great at the soft play area yesterday! We're really seeing the benefits now.

We definitely need to keep the thread going after we've reached goal, it's incredibly easy to gain again....

The housework awaits me, cleaning bloody fridge out, etc, etc, etc,

piste What's your tent like? We don't have one, but camping for a few days here and there in the good weather appeals. Ds is against it and has refused to attend the school camp! Have you been abroad camping?

PBM Did you find anything out about your laminate flooring? I know that completely flooding your kitchen would ruin it, when our old dishwasher had a leak, we claimed on the insurance for new flooring. Have you tried posting on good housekeeping? Be careful though, I did that about my voiley curtains and someone said a cool wash at 30 would be OK and one shrank!

jodie are you feeling a bit more motivated this week? I thankfully have got mine back after sts and gaining.

blondes Glad things are looking up for your dh. How's the sunbathing going?

I am very lax with putting suncream on, I love the sunny weather but sit in the shade reading when I can. I am quite olivey skinned and tan easily so it's difficult to remember. Also must remember the dc, they also tan easily but suncream also so important...

laughalot · 25/05/2010 15:50

Aarggggh give me a kick up the bum I cant stop eating crap food !!!!
