Nice new home for us now that March is over!

Trimmer ? Sorry to hear about your dad. I can understand how long the recovery process is. My mum slid on a tomato in Tesco?s in January and her knee cap broke in half and shattered. She still isn?t able to drive or back to work. Yum kettle chips, I love them. At least they were cancelled out by your long run.

Blondes ? Yummy meal you had. Enjoy tennis.

Sarah ? Oh no, pain about your computer. Hope it is fixed soon. Very exciting going on holiday just the two of you. Where have you booked to go? Hope your DD is better soon. It?s better for them to get it whilst they are young. Neither of my two ever seem to catch it.

Piste ? How exciting. When are you having it done? That will be so lovely having a new kitchen. Do you have any idea what new kitchen you?d like yet?

I?ve had a bad headache today but it serves me right for eating food that would make me go out of ketosis and now that I am trying to get back into it I will suffer.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/05/2010 21:00

Mels.... Hope your headache does not last too long.

Yes I think the kitchen will be out of action for a good while. The whole thing is going then it will be knocked thru into the dining room, then French doors to the garden put in and then the new kitchen put in. It will be fabulous.

DH will be away quite a bit during the time of course! We have a playroom/den for the DC which we can use for our fridge/microwave/kettle.

Anyone done this?any good tips?! How do you feed everyone properly?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2010 21:13

piste - work is having their kitchen done - all ripped out yesterday

looks like this

and this

said 3 weeks, i have a kettle,microwave and george

i booked my diary up for next 3weeks and out nearly every lunch and tea

no kitchen,3 young children and a mad dog is a nightmare

bebejones · 11/05/2010 21:16

Piste - very of your new kitchen, we have been talking about it since we moved to this house 3 years ago. It is surprising what you can cook in a microwave, we used ours for the first 6months coz I couldn't figure out the horrid oven we inherited! Would also say that the George grill was a godsend and would say that if you do the kitchen over the summer you will prob be fine as you can BBQ & have salads etc

Mels - about your mum, how awful, hope she sued Tesco! Where there's blame and all that!!

Sarah - hope your computer gets fixed soon, hate it when technology stops working! Holiday sounds lovely. for your DD, my DD (21months) had chicken pox over Easter & she was covered in spots, but it is better to get it over and done with & she was relatively ok in herself. Hope your DD doesn't suffer too much with it

My mum had her op first thing this morning & she seems to be ok. Am leaving after breakfast 2moro to get there so I am ready to pick her up when she is allowed home. Not looking forward to the drive. We have had a bit of luck with our finances today so DH is in a really good mood & things feel like they could finally be starting to pick up. Fingers crossed the economy will pick up now we have a government & his business (he works in finance) will start to improve. Have been bad & eaten 2 pieces of crumble cake today. But needed it while I was worrying about my mum! Made a super spicy 3 bean chilli for dinner so feeling very full! Taking my laptop with me so will not be AWOL over the next few days, thank goodness my mum has wireless broadband!

Trimmer sucks your cake didnt turn out too good but at least that way ya didnt get too tempted to keep goin back for an extra slither... Speakin of which... Bebe put down that scrummy crumble cake!
Mels how long does it take to get into ketoise? The crazy x.ray saga here was awful a man died as a direct result of it and another had a very long delay in a cancer diagnosis they wanted the minister for health fired over it and everything twas very serious but thankfully they are sorting it properly now, health care is in a shambles here sadly... Anyways enuf of me good night all

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 14:13

afternoon girls

went for a 3.4mile walk today and then went to the pub (for a diet coke, my friends had wine but i didnt)

i have had cp, and my eldest charge has but younger 2 havent and mb and i want them to have it - have tried soooooooooooooo hard for them to catch it with cp parts etc

have just had a ham/salad sandwich

got plumber coming round at 4pm to FINALLY fix my shower - been broken 2 years and have always had baths

sarahmia · 12/05/2010 14:58

afternoon ladies! quiet on here today!
just got to work and so i though i would pop on and say a quick hello... this whole not eating thing is making me very grumpy!

mels what diet are you doing that makes your body go into keytosis? I did lighter life for 10 days once that puts your body in keytosis.. lost 1 stone in ten days, kept blacking out and my DH made me come off it.

blondes you havent been able to have a shower for 2 years? wow!

anyone watch the resiganation of gordon brown last night??

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 16:08

i know sarah, dh kept saying he would fix it, then said he knew a man who can etc etc etc

and 2 years pass

so I decided to call a plumber/electrian and sorted it out

i LOVE baths and happily wallow in them for hours with a glass of wine water and a book and multitask on mn

but will be fab to have a shower again

Kayzr · 12/05/2010 16:13

Aha!!!! I've found you!!!!!!!

Sorry for being AWOL for so long!!! With XH leaving and me having the boys all the time I just haven't been able to get on MN.

How is everyone doing? I've lost 2st now and weigh 13st 1lb which I'm very pleased with. Just another 2/3 to go. The only annoying thing is that my size 16 jeans are falling down and size 14's don't do up. I hate the in between stage.

Still don't seem to be losing it from round my waist though, must start doing sit ups.

Hope you don't mind me coming back after so long away.

GettinTrimmer · 12/05/2010 16:18

Afternoon all

piste good idea of bebe's about the bbq. How long will it take? can imagine how busy you'll be sorting out everything in kitchen drawers, etc. I'd hate think what's in mine...

mummymels That's awful about your mum's kneecap Are you feeling better now?

bebe hope your mum is OK and the drive wasn't too bad. You and me both with cake munching! I had a piece of carrot cake today in Costa.

PBM Seems to be pudding scoffing all round here! Sure one piece of banoffi won't hurt. Do you pay for some healthcare in Ireland then get reimbursed? Glad it's improving anyway.

sarah Remind me, are you doing ww or something else? I like to find low cal and low GI stuff to have - bebe recommended some Nairn's ginger oatcakes a little while back, they are really filling.

I saw Gordon Brown's resignation last night and DC entering no. 10. Hopefully their plans/policies will be made clear over the coming weeks.

blondes well done on your long walk today. I've had a day off exercise.

I went shopping today and got myself a pair of size 12 white 3/4 length jeans. Can't wear them at the moment because there is a squashy waist overhang that is too noticeable. But I got them on!!

Sadly La Senza's bras still don't fit (they now go up to GG cups) they still measure up smaller than everywhere else. One day...

GettinTrimmer · 12/05/2010 16:22

Hi kayzr x-posted. Really well done to you on having lost 2 stone!! Nice to have you back.

Kayzr · 12/05/2010 16:31

I might be undoing it though tonight. Got a friend round and she is bringing Doritos!!! But I'm only having a jacket potato and salad for tea while the boys have pizza

sarahmia · 12/05/2010 16:57

blondes men are all the same! my bathroom is falling apart and im desperate for some cupboards in the front room but we never have money for it apparantly!

trimmer Im a WW lady but at the mo im really not eating enough! i know its bad.. but only have 5 weeks till holiday and cannot look like beached whale!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 17:12

WAVES madly to kayzr

welcome back

how are you? well done on fab weight loss - you have done so well ((hug))

sorry things didnt work out with dh but we are all here to support you xxx

sarah kwym, bloody men eh - shower is almost in

im also a ww girl and have NO problem eatng my points

Kayzr · 12/05/2010 17:25

I'm fine thank you!!! I'm actually loving life being a single mum. I feel like a whole new person. I think it has helped my weight loss to as I don't really get time to snack anymore. Plus doing all the housework must help too.

How are you?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 17:38

glad things going well and you are a very brave strong woman and hope you are proud of yourself

life okish with me, had a couple of shit months as dh did something so bloody stupid and diet went out of the window but we are getting back to normal slowly

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/05/2010 19:36

Lovely to see you again Kayzr, well done on so much loss, stick yourself back on the list with pride at your 2stones..wow!! Glad to know things are happier for you these days, but sorry it didn't work out IYSWIM

hello all!
We are awaiting a date for the start of our kitchen works, and I will have to contemplate emptying cupboards, what a scary thought! GT I KNOW what's in my cupboards and drawers and that is a load of cp! PBM - thanks for the good idea of posting for microwave and kettle recipes, I shall do that, because I think we will die of boredom otherwise! We can do some BBQ, but DD doesn't really eat meat ( she's not a vegetarian, it's just that she can't really be arsed to chew )

Am not sure how long it will take

Sarah&Blondes Lordy - I know what you both mean, DH ( this is the man who as you know travels a very great deal ) thinks he is going to decorate our sitting room, he has said this for nearly 3 years now, it is almost a family joke, but in his heart he actually thinks he will. I am going to see if we can get it done along with the kitchen decorating, but shall have to see how much it would be..

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 20:18

also had ppp for tea. One of my GABA

bebejones · 12/05/2010 21:03

Eveneing all! Just a quick one from me coz I'm exhausted. Had a hideous drive as the A40 was shut and ended up sitting on it going nowhere for ages, then came accross a overturned lorry as well. Haven't had a moment to myself since lunchtime, so much to do & organise when I finally got here!

Welcome back Kayzr! Well done on fab weight loss!

Blondes - My DH has been doing the same thing with our back garden, which he dug up last spring & is still an overgrown mud pit coz he can't be arsed 'never has time'! Hope you enjoy having a shower again!

Going shopping with my Grandma 2moro and going to treat myself to some new jeans. Fingers crossed for a size 14!

Have been reasonably good today, and haven't sat still (apart from when I was driving!!) so hopefully I can stay on track this week!

Will do a better catch up when I am a little less knackered!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 21:44

The blondes have been without a shower for about 2 years

mr blonde said he would fix it then said he knew a man who can and STILL nothing got done

so I rang a plumber and

Shower is in. Wall tiled and grouted and bathroom was tidy and for the sum of £195. £95 for shower and £100 labour.

And my plumber was here for 3hrs. Bargain

also a WOMAN

Did a fab job. Can't use till tomorrow but she showed me the spray head and have 5 positions!!

'gets sooooooooooooo excited'

bebe. Journey sounds a nightmare. Would you like a hot shower?

JODIEwantsanewname · 12/05/2010 22:34

Hi all,

Sorry benen AWOL for a bit, but fisrt I was sooo hungover on Monday I coudn't face anything but bed and since then I've been abot as I've been abit of a gannett (sp?) I;ve eaten everything in site, I really need to reign myself back in now and get slimmer for my holdiay in 3 weeks.

Piste I'm off to Soll, I can't wait, only ever been skiing there before, but PIL have paid for us all to go as it's there 50th wedding anniversary

Blondes Well done on your new shower, I'd be really excited if I were you too! Sorry if I;m being thick but what does this mean? - 'also had ppp for tea. One of my GABA'

Kayz Glad to see you back, I have been thinking about you recently, glad to see yourgetting on well, and fab weight loss!!!!

Bebe make sure you look after yourself as well as everyone else! Good luck for those size 14's

Hello to evveryone else and I'm sorry if I've missed anything important, but I am still tired from Sunday, I must be getting old

mummymels · 12/05/2010 23:20

Piste ? Your new kitchen sounds fab. We?ve not had it done but good friends of ours had it done a few weeks ago. I think they just used the microwave lots and had lots of takeaways and friends helped out too. Thanks. Still here today but I hopefully only last a day or two longer.

Bebe ? I hope your mum recovers. What a nightmare journey you had. I hope it is not too much for you looking after everyone. Enjoy shopping tomorrow. How far do you have to travel? My mum has sued Tesco?s but so far they haven?t responded to any of the Solicitors letters. Well eventually they acknowledged receipt only because the Solicitors actually phoned them but apparently they now have 3 months to respond since acknowledging receipt.

PBM ? That is awful re the xray saga. What is the world coming to these days? It takes me about 5 days or so to get back into ketosis but might not take as long this time because I only had a small cheat so may not have completely come out of it.

Blondes ? You are so good with your walking. You deserve that halo. That will be brill having your shower back. What a bargain as well. Enjoy your shower tomorrow. I couldn?t live without a shower so hats off to you. I couldn?t tell you the last time I had a bath.

Sarah ? That must have been scary blacking out from the diet. I don?t blame you coming off it and your husband wanting you to come off it. I am doing Go Lower. No, I didn?t see the resignation unfortunately. I remember when I did WW in the past that if you don?t eat all your points it can slow down your weight loss. I can?t remember why now. Where are you going on holiday?

Kayzr ? Welcome back. How are you doing? You sound as if you are being so strong and how are the boys dealing with it? Hopefully you will be back into those size 14 soon. Hopefully tonight with the Doritos won?t ruin too much.

Trimmer ? That?s brilliant you got some size 12 jeans on today. Not long will you will feel comfortable in them I?m sure. I know, I feel really bad for my mum. She was really active before and did a lot of walking and has now been told that she will only get about 85% back of what it was before and will be prone to osteoarthritis. At the moment she still can?t walk very far without being in agony. My head is still hurting but I am fine thanks.

Jodie ? Hope you feel better soon and are back on track. Where is Soll?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2010 23:45

Jodie

bloody spellcheck on iPhone. Meant to have said favs but obv comes up GABA lol

I'm out tomorro. For friends leaving do at a pub. Will try and chose something healthy as want to lose a lb on friday

Poohbearsmom · 13/05/2010 01:03

Lovely to see you Kayzr we hav missed you and we'v wondered after you many times really well done to you on your great loss! Are you still doing ww? You'l hopefully be back in the 12st sumits real soon. Sorry things didnt work out with ex but glad things are going better for you now
Bebe what a horrid journey hope you'v had an easier evening and have a lovely time wit your gran tomorrow
Piste lol at dd not being arsed to chew curry noodle and toasted tomato sandwiches were staples of my teenage diet very rarely ate my mothers dinners teenagers...
Trimmer its funny here the way they hav the health care its not free for the vast majority of the population, you pay €100 for a%26e and €75 per day of an inpatient stay in hosp so like when i had my colonoscopy i paid €75 but it cant go beyond sumit like 500 for any one stay iyswim and g.p's r very exp here but ya can get money back on prescriptions for anything over €90 a month. We can apply for medical cards or this new scheme of doctor only cards but they are only given to those under means tests and even though i dont work and we have two kids and dh is the sole earner we dont qualify for the medical card which would cover hosp, drug and g.p charges! We did get the doctor card for the first time about two months ago which is fab as can now see our g.p for free im easily pleased! But we'v spent sooooo much in the past on health i dare not even try to add it up... Maternity care is free if you go public here though and altho they are very under staffed and over worked they do a great job so thats sumit at least...
Mels am gona be real thick now and ask ya to tell me more bout being in ketosis? How do you get in it and How do you know you are? Do you have to do tests? Am sooooo slow
jodie glad ya had a good time tis understandable ya went a wee bit wild after being so restricted on detox now close that fridge you'v still got that sensational dress to be in, in a few wks
laughalot i hope dd is ok today?
Sarah eat! Ww has sooooo many free stuff to fill up on dont be sufferin huny or you'l never be able to stick at this long term. We have a few lovely 0pt soup recipes between us here we could give ya if ya like? They are very filling and for 0pts snack or to bulk up lunch they are super, and Blondes does a lovely roasted vegi, chicken and tomato thingy that is very low pt wise but lovely oh and you simply must try the pitta 'pizza' and quorn is your ww friend but please dont be starving yourself you'l only feel miserable and your body will retaliate by holdin onto fat instead of shedding it!

GettinTrimmer · 13/05/2010 11:38

Morning all

blondes enjoy your showers! When you're on next, could you tell me how many points are in Brazil nuts? Can imagine there's loads.

piste When we first got a microwave (blimey, back in the 80s!) my mum cooked everything in it including cakes and joints of meat - all we heard was 'ping' of her opening and closing the door! we don't tend to use them to full capacity I suppose. Good luck with it all. What colour have you chosen for your kitchen?

mummymels Thanks, but the jeans sit more below the waist and have to deal with the overhang! I've always been slimmer on the hips than anywhere else, wish I could lose it from my bust (classic apple shape). Best wishes to your mum - Did they remove her kneecap? My bro had a motorbike accident and that's what happened to him, but he is fine and does plenty of swimming.

PBM We take free health care for granted over here - it's a relief you can get to see your GP for free though. I did wonder a while ago when you said you had to pay for your coil.

jodie It's best to eat anyway if you've got a hangover - glad you had a good time.

sarah I meant to ask, where are you going on your hols?

laughalot How's things?

kayzr I love dorritos!

bebe Hope your shopping trip was good. How's things at your mum's? Is your dd OK?

I have been looking on the local government website frequently for jobs (used to work for them) but no luck. I've decided in September to sign up with an agency and do some office temping for extra cash as well as doing the classroom assistant qualification. Not a great time at the moment for job hunting!
