Feeling totally disillusioned with the British public this morning. What a complete farce, a hung parliment will be a complete disaster! Think it's time to give some serious thought to emigrating!

Right, enough politics.

Blondes - good luck with weigh in!

Sarahmia - that food sounds amazing! Yum yum! I'm close-ish in age to you (27...feel 18) It will happen for you I'm sure, it must be so hard but try & stay positive (easier said then done I know). x

Going to venture out to get my lovely Grandma a birthday present later. Not sure about food for today yet. Maybe some soup & the pasta for dinner. Feeling a bit low and uninspired!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2010 09:16

Sarah. We are lovely lol and hope you feel happier soon. Food sounds yummy

I'm really pissed off. Sts

I was fairly good apart from Fridays meal and though did eat MB brownies I didn't eat tea that day and felt guilty and now wish I hadn't eaten them and maybe then would have lost a lb

I know I should be grateful-happy that sts and didn't gain but that's not how I feel

going to the gym to kick arse at my body combat class

have a good day all

GettinTrimmer · 07/05/2010 13:38

I'm a bit knackered this morning, stayed up late last night watching the election results.... we'll have another election soon if the past is anything to go by.

blondes sorry you sts, but I think I will too this week if I'm lucky (just had left over macaroni cheese on toast).

bebe how are you getting on with your press-ups.

I've just done Davina's aerobics section and Claire's toning section. I am concerned about not hurting my back when doing press-ups so tried to make sure my knees were back a bit. I found them very hard!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/05/2010 19:27

Hello Gang!

Just popping in to say have a good weekend and good luck for Monday!

Sarah - lovely to have you with us, this is a good place to be with this lot, there is no way I would still be going if I had been doing this on my own. You sound like an amazing cook - I'd like to come round for the meal you were making! Nom nom nom nom.

PBM - In a minute, I am going to have to come and find you, where are you hiding?! Hope all is well with you..

Bebe - I love politics and so does DH, he was a bit like GettinTrimmer and stayed up, but he stayed up the whole night and had a little snooze this pm. It is messy right now, but don't be disillusioned Bebe, this is a democracy at work, and it's getting interesting! DH was recently in a reception do thing in Saudi Arabia to which the majority invited were men ( about 500+) , and the women ( literally a handful ) had to watch events from a side room on the TV, with no interaction etc, and don't forget women cannot drive in Saudi, vote, etc. We live in a democratic society and we should be proud of its workings, even when they are not straightforward!

Blondes - I have one ( hyphenated ) word to say to you....... long-haul!

Mummymels - Just keep on going!!

PS I LOVE toad in the hole, and funnily enough made it for DC this week!

bebejones · 07/05/2010 19:37

Trimmer - Push ups going ok, doing them Blondes way has made them harder without my knee buckling!!

PBM - I shall join Piste on the hunt!! Hope you are ok?!

Blondes - sts is still really good. Don't beat yourself up!

Piste - I know we should be grateful to live in a democracy just can't believe what a mess we have made of the whole thing! Hoping that they can sort it out asap (even if just short term) for the sake of the economy if nothing else. Just don't want things to end up like Greece & the markets are really taking a hammering! Am trying not to worry too much. Last night DH and I were discussing roving (?) power cuts...I was all ready to go get a generator this morning!!! DH think's I'll be building a nuclear fall out shelter in the graden soon! I tend to panic a bit!

Am gearing myself up for 'stabby stabby'! Don't want to do it! Anyone got any nice plans for the weekend?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2010 19:45

im still upset and sulking

i HONESTLY thought i would lose weight, i may have to drop points ecah day so eat 7 less a week to lose weight

weekend plans - 1st aid course tomorrow and out for mummy blondes birthday sunday

have fun

bah humbug

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/05/2010 20:05

Blondes If you don't stop sulking, I'm going to come over and be quite quite cross with you, and quite probably give you a kick up the !

Because, blah blah, long-haul, blah blah. Don't you agree?

Answer carefully, because I will come !!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/05/2010 20:05
GettinTrimmer · 07/05/2010 20:24

bebe a bit of speculation here, but I have a feeling GB will stand down. Then tories will form a minority government. Then there will be another election/referendum at some point. It'll sort itself out, agree with Piste.

I'm interested in history, and on bbc they were talking about how many times this has happened before - makes me think somehow this is cyclical and looking at our political system somehow inevitable.

Anyway, I'm blathering on and don't know much anyway!!

I'm like you, found those push ups really hard but do they get rid of bingo wings??

blondes Is your 1st aid course for children? I did one a couple of years ago, and think I should do a refresher course.

Next week will be your week!

I weigh in tomorrow and have fingers crossed.

GettinTrimmer · 07/05/2010 20:30

Yes piste, long-haul, I will beat this midriff.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2010 21:19

Long haul smong hall

I'm in that kind of mood

remember piste I do body combat and kick boxing and the poor punch bag got a right thrashing today !!!!

Normally I don't mind if I sts and I did eat MB brownies but still I really wanted to lose weight and I'm kicking myself for the lack of willpower I have

never mind. Tomorrow I will be in a better mood.

trimmer yes for children. St johns pediactric one. I refresh it every 3 years as part of being a professional nanny

tbh I think all parents should do a basic one. MB did one at school with the other mums

bebejones · 07/05/2010 22:01

Blondes - seriously dont beat yourself (or the bag) up about it! I really ought to do a first aid course. DD is a proper tomboy & has no fear, but unfortunately is very clumsy just like me! Her favourite game at the moment is to remove the cushions from the sofa & jump off the sofa onto the cushions!!! She is most persistent & I'm sure it will result in broken bones!

Have a nice time with your mum on her Birthday!

Trimmer - I agree that there will probably be another election as soon as they sort things out a bit. Just makes you wonder what the point of yesterday was!!

Have had to take my wedding rings off and put them on my necklace. Will have to get them resized when I reach my goal coz at the moment they are pretty much falling off my finger & I'm worried about losing them!

Have done my injection so just chilling on the sofa with some chocolate tiffin. Skipped lunch in the end today, not on purpose...just forgot! But at least i saved some cals for the tiffin! Made a tomato pasta sauce with some carrots and courgette blended in (mostly to get DD to eat some veg) was ok, but had a weird after taste v low in cals though!

Feeling lightheaded now so gonna go to bed & hope I feel better in the morning & that DD sleeps alright! Got loads of housework to do 2moro!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2010 22:36

Bebe. How on earth can you forget lunch?

sorry you had to jab yourself ad well done for losing weight on your fingers

when I lost 4 stone before I lost my lovely diamond ring just slipped off finger one day

but I did treat myself to a new one - smaller. I was a m but now a j so went down 4 ring sizes

mr blondes says he loves me and I'm doing well but just don't feel motivated today

wonder if I can jump off sofa ..........

JODIEwantsanewname · 07/05/2010 22:59

Hi all.

Blondes cheer up lovely. Come on, you can do this, it's just a blip, you are doing so well. You'll lose double next week!!!!!
Happy birthday to your mum. How is she feeling now?

PMB Where are you????? Did your phnego swimming again? we miss you....

trimmer Good luck tomorrow, I'm weighing in tomorrow, the last one until FD!

Bebe I heard on radio 4 today that the election process needed looking at as it's built for a 2 horse race and now it's a 3 horse race it needs changing, but we are making history here and it's quite exciting.
I voted DC as our local MP is blue and he is fab! (in fact his name is Michael Fabricant and he is know as Michael Fabulous round these parts!) He's been our MP for as long as I can remember (even going back to school days) and he does a great job, no expenses scandals or anything! He won by nearly 20,000 votes and gained a 6.5% swing, even in this true conservative stonghold! To be fair DC prob. would have got my vote anyway.

sarah These ladies (in the loosest sense of the word ) on here are fab! I definatly wouldn't be still at it if their support hadn't been here! [soppy, sentimental emoticon]

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/05/2010 23:12

I've emailed pbm to see if she is ok

my mum is ok as long as takes medicine and things easy. Got heart op on 4 weeks

Poohbearsmom · 08/05/2010 00:53

hello my lovelys

Blondes i shall be off to gmail as soon as iv finished typing iv just had one of them weeks, too much to do with the new house, not been feeling great, i had to go chasing them n the stupid hospital to send my referel to the specialist cause even though the dr. said 'we'l send a letter today and you'l be seen very quickly' when i still hadnt got an app 3wks later i went investigating and da sec said da dr. Only dictated the letter to her last thurs and with the bank hol wkend and all she'd not gotten around to it till this wk but that it was sent now... but a few min later said dont worry il write urgent on it and sorry for the delay! so hopefully she'l have sent it for real now...
Really tired this wk too my iron's still really low and im still bruising but more then that ds2 has been wakin at least once a night if not twice since we moved so that has me shattered, been really crap this week with food just gone back to all my old ways and gotta snap outa it soon or il jus pile it all on again
iv also had no credit till this eve so was cut off from my beloved mn! Been watchin telly for a change instead, i normally jus mn all day when the boys are asleep as my relaxin time but it was actually nice to watch a few programs and even watched loads of yer election coverage! Altho iv not got a clue wats da story!? Wats all this talk of things being hung? We hav a coalition here is that not wats gona happen with ye? So outa da loop have missed ye though

Blondes sorry you sts dont let the pissed off feelin send ya for a though, jus kick some imaginary ass in BC instead! Had sausages the other day and before i had my first bite you popped into my head and they all thought id gone mad wit my big grin for me sausage!

Trimmer your doing fantastic on the exercising im sure dat lil bita stillton wont curse you tomorrow, best of luck
Piste your so funny id images of ya done up to the nine's in your huntin gear headin out in the wilds of mn lookin for a poohbear
sarah my dear it is 100%25 understandable your not feelin your normal self, your grieving, what you hav gone through is so very very awful, you must still be extremely raw, give yourself time your heart and your mind need it and probably your body too. We'r here for you hun, ya can talk to us about anything not jus diet/food etc (big squeezey hug)
Mels you'v been so strict so long tis no wonder the carb fairy caught up to you, jus dont feel bad over it you'v done so fantastic! How much hav ya lost in total now?

Morning all

I've lost 1lb

bebejones · 08/05/2010 08:03

Blondes - was just so busy doing stuff that by the time I felt hungry it was nearly dinner time...Ooops!

PBM - glad you are alright sorry your DS keeps waking I sympathise completely. DD is usually a good sleeper but has been very restless lately. lol at Piste in hunting gear!!

Jodie - good luck!! I'm not sure it's exciting all this election stuff, but it is interesting! Just want a solution

Feeling really lightheaded & headachey this morning. Nurse said should wear off by lunchtime...lets hope so! Off to eat breakfast before I forget!

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 08/05/2010 08:13

PBM good to see you!! What a complete pain about your referral I know exactly what you mean about slipping back into old habits, it's like we are on auto-pilot, but so long as we climb back on the wagon, we'll be alright

Coalition govts are the norm in the rest of Europe, but we usually end up with one party in charge, either conservative or labour.

No-one has an overall majority, need 326 MPs to form a government and the conservatives only have 306 MPs. Under our system, the current prime minister, Gordon Brown, Labour, is entitled to try and form a government even though he got less votes than conservatives. So he would have to form a coalition. We are just waiting to see what happens!

jodie good luck for today!! I am sure you will look great in what you wear.

Blondes/Bebe I know what you mean about losing weight off your fingers, my rings were tight, now I can easily get them on and off. Blondes You've had such a hard time lately, it can affect us by feeling fed up with other things. We've all done so brilliantly, been sticking at this for 4 whole months!!

Dds teacher asked me if I've lost a lot of weight, and said it especially notices on my face! I felt chuffed.

GettinTrimmer · 08/05/2010 08:14

bebe take care and don't forget to eat!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/05/2010 09:20

PBM.... There you are!

Small steps, significant progress.

Someone said that on the news just now about something else, but it's relevant to us too. Well done again on your loss this week GT.

bebejones · 08/05/2010 10:22

My DH made me blueberry pancakes for brekkie! (They were in the freezer...but still!) They are only small & only had 3!

Piste - loving the quote there!!

Have a feeling today is going to be a bad food/no exercise day. Need to go to tesco (YUK) and it is raining and windy and cold (Double YUK!!) Really not worth going in the car it's only at the end of the road just don't want to go outside!

Was gonna have pesto pasta for lunch but after pancakes I'm not so sure! Shall see how I feel! Gardening plans are off as the weather is rubbish. Although DH needs to speak to someone abou cutting some branches off the tree in our front garden...it is interrupting the Sky signal!! Although typically he has left it (after I have been saying it needed doing for months) but now it is preventing him watching the sport!

Right, enough of my ramblings, have a good day/weekend everyone!

JODIEwantsanewname · 08/05/2010 13:49

I've lost .75lbs this week, so I'm now only a lb away from losing a stone and only 3lbs away from my pre baby weight!

Dress won;t fit, but still I have a nice back up, which I tried on last night and it does look lovely! Red dress will have to wait until another time

I'll catch up with you all later DD1 has just done something to DD2 and WW2 is breaking out!

happy saturday guys
any nice plans for the wkend?
Have a lovely time jodie
enjoy the shopping bebe i actually really doin the shopping but im a bit of a saddo and easy to please
piste lol do you not remenber the size of me def no need for magnifing glasses to find me
well done on the loss Trim fab ppl are sayin nice things, does give a little boost doesnt it thanks for explainin the gov thing wouldnt dare ask elsewhere might get eaten alive! Its quite normal here and i quite like the fact its a coalition so even though the two parties (and a few independents here too) are working together no one has free rein, there is a bit more negotation and makin sure everyone is happy with plans for the country where as when its just one big party in charge they dont have to do what the opp says obv and can make more of a mess of things imho which is what has happened to so many countries... Just hope ye get a good strong gov who can help ye get back on yer feet, havnt a clue who il go for in our next election...
