What has happened Hots? Sad

IMO you need food AND exercise to both come together at the same time. Otherwise it always feels like you are swimming against the tide and then it is too easy to just say 'feck it' and give up.

So, what is your weekly routine? where can you commit in that to be incorporating exercise? Walking to school/office etc, swimming on a specific named day? Tis much easier when you get up to think 'oh yes, it's Thurs, must grab my swimming gear'

Let us know what we need to do to help you? Maybe confessing food/drink for a week for starters? Perhaps you could try a piece of clothing on every day which you want to get into in say 3 weeks time and see how much closer you are getting?

I have run 3.5k, 5 mins powerplate & 100 sit-ups. Then, rather than swimming whilst DD1 had her lesson i sat in the sauna and steam room Blush. I did drink loads of water though

luckoftheirish · 27/09/2010 18:37

oh hots big hugs, as crispy said we are hear for you and will help in anyway we can...

i could do with a bike buddy Grin...

well done crispy and the steam/sauna was the right choice Smile..

done my usual 20km and dd2 sit up and half of school run as it was p*ing it down this am so 1.8 mile walk..

v v stressful day so am indulging in wine tonight Blush

hotterpotter · 27/09/2010 21:28

Oh shucks, thanks you guys Smile I've just been stuffing my face and not exercising since I did my leg in. Not loads of food but too much and of the wrong kind, you know what I mean.

Anyway, new day, new start and all that. Have been v good re food today, walked to school and back twice (2.5 miles altogether), spent most of the day cleaning & tidying and I've shredded again. Am broken Grin.

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 27/09/2010 21:32

Just been back down the thread and that's my first shred (or indeed proper exercise of any kind since 8 September Shock No wonder I am feeling lardy...

Starting the count again so 1/30 Blush

luckoftheirish · 28/09/2010 12:12

Oh hots you have to take things easy!! Why not commit yourself you walking dd to and fro school for a bit, weather permitting?? you mentioned that it was 2.5 miles so thats great... throw in a few sit ups and maybe a few arm lifts with beans/bottles whatever and that is pretty much an exersazz complete?

god i am waffling Blush..

half of school run complete, 20km, dd2 situps so just other half of school run to do!

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/09/2010 14:15

Lordy, lordy, can someone please pass the rescue remedy?.......

Went to the gym for a little run on the treadmill and a few stretches on the powerplate, when i walked past the classes list. Had a quick perusal and saw there was a spin class in 15 minutes.
When i checked spaces with reception, they had just had a canx. There are NEVER any spaces on spin. I think i was hoping they would say no, and then i could be all cocky and say 'well, if they had had a place on spin i would have gone, obviously'. I think i stood there gawping like a guppy as the receptionist said 'you don't have to take it LOL. BlushGrin

Spin bloke is a nightmare - exceedingly keen on hill climbs and endurance sprints. Ouch. So, came out of there a bit wobbly and one of the other ladies who i know to chat to says: 'are you doing the Abs class now?' WTF??? So I say 'yes' WTF again???? Confused

So an excrutiating 10 minutes later i limp to the powerplate to stretch my aching muscles.

Then went to Sainsbo's and bought a salad bar salad for lunch (not too much crap) and have had a restorative cuppa. I am now considering whether or not to walk down to pick DD1 up from preschool. I have said if it is dry and no urgent work on then i will always walk. Both of those are 'ticked'

Hots, as LOTI says, commit to the regular school walks and the rest is all a bonus Smile. Have a lovely soak in the bath tonight and we will kick your ass tomorrow.

Loti - as always, you are like a duracell bunny Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/09/2010 17:24

Forgot to say before, in the 15 mins before the spin class i ran 1.5k as well Shock

Walked to and from preschool as well as the sun came out just as i was trying to tell myself that i needn't walk it. So that's another 2.5 miles clocked up. Ham, new pots and cauli cheese for dinner to compensate Grin

luckoftheirish · 28/09/2010 18:34

awesome Crispy lots of extra calories for you tonight!!!

Walked to gymbories with T and had to walk/run to collect dd2.. phew..

weather suspose to be pants tom Hmm

hotterpotter · 28/09/2010 22:13

Good grief crispy it's a wonder you can move at all after all that Shock[impressed] well done!

Loti you just keep going too! You must have muscles of steel

oops you are breast feeding and need to keep your strength up Smile

Thanks for being soft on me this morning but I am fine, neck nearly better and shredding doesn't call for much head-rolling so have done it again tonight. I have eaten onne bourbon biscuit and a dessert spoon of icecream which I shouldn't but nothing else naughty so it's been a good day. Walking to school all very well but I only do it two days a week so not going to make much difference unless I keep shredding too!

Have also decided to take my breakfast and eat it when I get to work in the hope of then swerving temptation until lunchtime. Better go and put some shreddies in a tupperware box...

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 28/09/2010 22:22

at oops wibbling away Grin. Is your thyroid stuff settled down now? have you been given the all clear to exercise at all?

hots very impressed at your shredding and good call to take your brekker with you. I used to take my grapefruit with me and much better than stuffing it in before i left and not even realising i was eating IYSWIM?

Can you extend the school walk so you do your 30-45 mins brisk on those two days? Then you only need two other sessions

I have creche booked for an hour tomorrow morning as today was supposed to be preschool walk, not spin hell! Think i will do a bit of a run and then sit in the sauna/steam room for a bit before DD2's lesson

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/09/2010 22:25

PMSL, i am a glutton for punishment - have just looked up class timetables and there is Level 3 body combat Confused at 9.30. Whaddya reckon? Yay or nay? Grin

luckoftheirish · 29/09/2010 03:02

Go for it crispy!! Used to do body combat when I had child free time and loved loved loved it!! Please do not ask what the hell I am doing awake at 3am!! Both dds are fast asleep!!!

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/09/2010 08:58

Hope you got back to bed LOTI. Well, i did end up booking on it and just off. Wish me luck......

luckoftheirish · 29/09/2010 09:22

positive vibes for a great workout crispy you are going to love it!!! No more sleep for me today and no walk to school pah!!

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/09/2010 12:34

Was good but not GREAT IYSWIM? I am terribly bad at following sequence stuff, especially when there are loads of changes. I prefer to repeat a move and get it right rather than flailing limbs around and just trying to keep up. It was quite hard work but not breathless and i did feel a bit of a twat punching an imaginary person Grin

I may give it another go as she said they are just starting a new 'routine' which will be the same for a few months so that might work for me.

Took both DD's swimming after DD2's lesson. Manic but good fun, and only slightly frazzled after 20 mins. Soup and salad for lunch Smile

luckoftheirish · 29/09/2010 12:47

Gold start for crispy today!!! Stick with it if you can, its takes a couple of weeks of doing the same routine and fantastic body burn!!!

Done my usual 20km and sit up but thinking i may need to do a little more of something today as the school run isn't looking likely Hmm

hotterpotter · 29/09/2010 21:02

Stop posting so much everyone, we are running out of room and I need to lose many pounds...

No shredding tonight, got my period and feeling shattered, but had a v brisk walk around town at lunchtime for an hour so classing that as an ExerSazz. There was loads of cake knocking around at work too and I didn't have any [phew]

Well done crispy, you are becoming a gym addict Grin

loti were you scared of getting wet??? wuss Wink

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 29/09/2010 21:34

LOTI 20k is MASSES of exercise. We only need 30 mins per day Smile

Well done on the cake swerve Hots, I did have a biccy swerve this avo, although not as impressive as i don't really like them HmmGrin. Had half a hunk slice of bread with my soup and a big beef casserole for tea.

I am weighing in tomorrow as out tomorrow night, so Friday morning unlikely to be pretty scales (or other) wise Grin

No exercise tomorrow as have 4 hours of driving. Will just take water and fruit to nibble and hope we do not end up having a big 'business' lunch......

CrispyTheCrisp · 30/09/2010 18:25

Arse. Same weight as last Fri

Exercise good and healthy food, so i guess it must just portion control needing a reigning in again Blush

Wine and canapes tonight Smile

luckoftheirish · 30/09/2010 18:42

Crispy shame on not losing more but good that you did not gain iykwim??? Also i find that if i do really well on exercise its the following week that i lose if that makes sense??

Well i guess i will find out when i weigh in the morn ekk..

Have wonderful wine and nibbles tonight Smile

hotterpotter · 30/09/2010 21:34

I agree with you loti that good exercise = loss the week after, if you can keep strong that long...

No shredding here today again, have got a bad cough/cold now (I know, excuses excuses Blush) but I did have a brisk walk for nearly an hour at lunch time and haven't had any naughty things to eat today apart from another tablespoon full of ice cream. Taking brekker to eat at work seems to be keeping me from needing to snack before lunchtime so that's definitely progress.

See you in the morning loti and anyone else who fancies it.

Hope you enjoy your night out tonight crispy, safe in the knowledge you have a whole week to gym it off Grin
