need to lose at least 4 stone

FacePalm · 08/03/2010 12:06

I have had two children in 26 months, and my youngest is 8 months old. I have actually put on a stone since she was born! I also breastfeed! So , so much for that!

Anyway, last week I was 14 stone 3lbs! The heaviest I have ever been in my life!

I decided I really needed to do something about it properly this time. I want to lose at least 4 stone, initially, which will give me a bmi of 25.

I have started SlimFast, and in the first week have lost 6lbs.

It is going ok for me so far, I was a terrible eater in the day, would barely eat till the afternoon, when I might have some toast or a sandwich, but then once dh was home from work, eat a huge evening meal or take out, crisps, chocolate!

So, now I am having the meal replacement bars for Breakfast and lunch, and 3 snacks a day and trying to drink lots of water, then a 600 calorie evening meal.

I hate how I look at the moment. I have suffered quite badly with PND since my youngest was born, and part of this has manifested itself into my fear of leaving the house on my own with my two children. I think, that the fact that I hate how I look, and think people are laughing at me because of this, does not really help me recover.

So, I hope you all do not mind me joining you in this section.

Hi all

Well I did stage 1 of the 30DS this morning again and it was harder that the 1st time!! But each stage does work different muscules so will be mixing it up.

When to friends house on Thurs night and 2 slices of pizza and 2/3 of a bottle of wine. Well pleased with myself.

Last night I had another 1/2 bottle of wine - It just tastes so good.

Glad to see you are all doing to well.

simmo39 · 19/04/2010 23:21

Ha! Ha! shortandsweet you gotta lay off that yummy wine it will do you no good....

edwardcullensotherwoman · 21/04/2010 00:03

Hi ladies, I know it's late on in the thread but do you mind if I join in? I started weightwatchers 5 weeks ago weighing 13st4, up to last weds had lost 7.5lb, but i want to get to at least 9st4 (middle range for my height) by the end of the year.
FacePalm - I'm in a similar situation - had PND after ds, that's when I put on the weight. I was size 10/12 when he was a month old, and in about a year I went up to a 16 so now I have to do something about it. GP told me today I'm in the obese category according to BMI Can I just say too - I had a Homestart volunteer until last week, for about 18 months, they are a brilliant organisation aren't they?
Anyway, well done everyone so far, I'll be back tomorrow with an update from WW meeting..

shortandsweet2 · 21/04/2010 06:33

Hi Edward and welcome, you are doing really well on the WW and good luck for tonight

My diet has been a bit shit at the moment, me and DH aren't getting on at the moment which then drives me to chocolate and crisps

meandjoe · 21/04/2010 09:21

Welcome Edwardcullensotherwoman (love the name!!). How did ww meeting go? I have been doing weight watchers and so far have lost a stone in 6 weeks which I am really pleased about.

Shortandsweet, sorry you and dh aren't getting on. Hopefully you'll get things back on track soon.

Can't think I'll lose anything this week as I have eaten crap , not even sure why, there seems to be no trigger with me... maybe just bordom and the fact that I am just plain greedy. I want to at the junk, then the second I have eaten it I feel so bad but then actually it just spurrs me on to eat more junk because I feel demotivated and just think 'what the hell'... I know it doesn't help. I have been good so far this morning, had a slice of toast and an apple. Trying to drink lots of water too but already I am wanting to snack! Really need to get my bum into gear and keep this weight loss going or else I know I will slip off this thread and back into my old ways.

Must get motivated! Hope you're all OK and doin better than me.

FacePalm · 21/04/2010 09:29

Welcome edwardcullensotherwoman.....yeah, my home start has been great. But I am back at work in 3 weeks so will lose her. Well done on your weight loss.

Going ok here, ive not lost, but then I have not gained either! Not had much chance to do my dvd, as last week, i had my two teenage nieces staying all week, then Monday I was watching my other Niece, on top of which I had a stinking cold. So going to restart it again today.

Hi Edwardscullensotherwoman I'm doing weightwatchers too, 7.5lbs is great!

shortandsweet sorry to hear about you and DH not getting on, hope it'll pass soon.

meandjoe don't lose your motivation - a stone in just 6 weeks is excellent, if you eat crap, draw a line under it and start again. I ate a whole bag of haribo on Monday and I felt so sickly and why eat a whole bag when I know I will feel sick? The upside is at least there is no haribo in the house anymore.

I lost 2lbs at my weigh day Monday so 7lbs so far. Am still shredding, just done day 8, still on level 1 and it is so HARD

meandjoe · 21/04/2010 09:41

Thanks clare, I know you are right, I need to sraw a line under it and carry on eating well. It's all too easy to think I ate rubbish yesterday, I'll just have the one pacjet of crisps today and then it's a slippery slope to eating more junk and thinking 'i'll eat better tomorrow', then the cycle continues and I never quite get the motivation back. Well done on losing the 2lbs, you're doing so well at sticking with the shred!

I AM GOING TO EAT HEALTHILY TODAY!!!

ClaireDeLoon · 21/04/2010 09:44

you can do it meandjoe, don;t undo all your hard work

facepalm good luck with starting your dvd again!

simmo39 · 21/04/2010 21:59

meandjoe - I so sympathise and I guess we have all been there time and time again. Keep trying, I hope today went better for you. And well done on a stone in 6 weeks that is excellent!!! Even if you can maintain that until you are back to full motivation.

I haven't really eaten that much today, just feel so rough. Had my Golower Tex Mex soup today for lunch and picked at my Chicken and leek meal or dinner....My throat is really sore, have a huge mouth ulcer under my tongue and am tired. And my poor DS has fractured his arm! He was pushed / pulled off the slide at school. He has spent every day at the hospital so far this week bless him. I have promised him a Macdonalds tomorrow for lunch and new Hot Wheels track to cheer him up. I have just got to make sure I don't have a Macdonalds too!......

ClaireDeLoon · 22/04/2010 08:04

I found out I'm pregnant yesterday, we've being trying a long while so it's good news but would have preferred to have lost more weight before. Stopped the 30 day shred but still following ww just making sure lots of fruit veg & water. So I'll hang around for a while just not expecting big losses.

ClaireDeLoon · 22/04/2010 08:08

Simmo your poor DS hope he heals quickly

shortandsweet2 · 22/04/2010 08:17

OMG Claire congrats thats fantastic news!!!!

Simmo hope DS and you feel/get better soon.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 22/04/2010 23:04

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. 0.5lb off last night, not ideal but better than nothing! Sorry to hear about you and DH shortandsweet, hope it gets a bit better soon. Meandjoe - I knwo exactly what you mean - that's how my thursday last week went; once I know I've gone offtrack, I just write off the whole day and eat whatever I want (usually a lot!) which I really should stop.
Congrats Claire! Fab news. Simmo hope you and ds are better soon.

ClaireDeLoon · 23/04/2010 08:13

0.5lb off is better than 0.5lb on is the way I always think of it! All adds up in the end, well done for it.

I need to start swimming or something now I can't shred, but I can only do breaststroke 'cos I hate putting my face in the water.

Thanks for your congrats, we're certainly notcounting our chickens as I've had two pregnancies and both ended in mc but every day with no bleeding is a bonus and one day closer to an 8 week scan.

FacePalm · 23/04/2010 09:57

Congratulations Claire!! Please do hang around and keep us all informed how you are getting on.

And hope your DS feels better soon Simmo.

Well done EdwardCullensotherwoman..a loss is a loss.

I am finally i think at the point where i am automatically having smaller portions, and not craving crisps and chocolate..feels natural now to be eating like i am!

I am down to 13 stone 1.5! Nearly in those 12's!!Once i am, i am going to buy a new outfit. (hubby lost something stupid like 19lbs though! grrr....im going to start syringing full fat cream into his mouth while he is asleep!! lol )

Hope you are doing ok Shortandsweet2.

OP posts:
ClaireDeLoon · 23/04/2010 10:34

You just made me nearly spit a mouthful of apple over my screen at the syringing cream into his mouth thing nearly into the 12's you're doing so well!!

meandjoe · 24/04/2010 14:11

CONGRATULATIONS clare!!! Wow that's fantastic news.

Well done to everyone else who is sticking with this too. I have been realy ill this past few ays (diarrhoea and sickness) not eaten a thing and throwing up, couldn't even keep water down. I passed ou on Thursday due to dehydration. I lost 7lbs in a day but I know it's all just water and will come back once I am eating and drinking properly again. Feeling much better now but very washed out by it and am having no choice but to eat healthily as the only things I fancy are grilled chiken breast and salad. The thought of any greese or sweet stuff still makes my stomach churn!

Anyway, haven't been on here for a few days but good to see you are all still here! Simmo, how's your ds?

meandjoe · 24/04/2010 14:12

sorry my typing is not good, think the batteries on the cordless keyboard need changing (that's my excuse anyway!)

simmo39 · 27/04/2010 22:47

meanandjoe - how are you feeling today? Hope you are recovering, you never know the weight you have lost might stay off....
Clairedeloon - many congrats that is wonderful news, how are you feeling? I did aqua aerobics when pregnant it was really relaxing.
Thanks to you all for best wishes for my DS, he is much better and went back to school today. We are at the fracture clinic this thursday for a follow up so hopefully they will say he is fine too.
Lost 3 lb last week Hoping to at least stay the same this week as drank too much wine at 40th birthday party at weekend and chinese! Tried hard to make it a low carb chinese but it was hard!

FacePalm · 02/05/2010 09:40

Hope everyone is doing well.

I seem to be stuck, i keep floating between 13 stone 1 and 13 stone 4...cannot seem to get down past 13 stone 1!

I did end up having a few take out sessions in the weeks, just thought what is the point, making no difference eating well, so i gorged on pizza and fish and chips, and chinese! Not all in one day mind you!

Determined to get back on track this weekend, and put it behind me.

Does not help dh is just shedding weight and he was not being as strict as i was!

OP posts:
meandjoe · 03/05/2010 08:47

Hi all, back on track now after a dodgy week of take aways but thankfully, even with all that gorging mysef I am still 2lbs lighter than I was before the sickness bug. Well done simmo, you're doing so well!

I think the sickness thing, whilst it made me lose a hell of a lot of water weight, did actually change my diet for long enough to have done some good... just a shame I pigged out this week!

I still have 2.5 stone to go but getting there very slowly!

simmo39 · 04/05/2010 21:12

Faceplam - I know how you feel, it is so frustrating when you are just 1-2 lb away from that next barrier and just hovering on the edge of it. Men alway seem to shed weight quicker, its just not fair! Put the gorging behind you and make a fresh start you will be 12 stone something soon

meanandjoe - ooh lucky you still 2 lb lighter. Still not so pleasent having the bug, but on my fat and bloated days I secretly wish for a stomach bug! Had an awful one like that about 3 years ago and lost so much weight I looked gaunt and aged in the face. However it was nice having my clothes all baggy, even just for a few weeks ! I have just over 2 stone left to go, whats your goal weight?

meandjoe · 12/05/2010 11:12

Hi all, things have gone quiet round here.. hope that's not a bad sign!

All OK here, haven't lost any since last post but haven#t gained either so am still at my lightest for about 6 yrs which is good. Just need to keep the momentum going really and not fall off the wagon like I always do.

How is everyone else doing?

FacePalm · 12/05/2010 16:57

Well, i started back at work on Monday after my maternity leave. Doing well, and im a lot more active now, so hoping that will help.
