And DH has promised to join me. But not until after our big night away without the kids next week. So lots of time to procrastinate plan ahead I've ordered India's book. And have an old copy of Atkins' upstairs.

I will need a sugar substitute I think. And, ahem, fibre. Are linseeds low carb? Can you eat them in induction? And I will need to plan my snackage.

And how to get through the first week or two weeks? What helped you not cave in at the first cravings or headaches? And did I read somewhere you can test your piss? Or is that not strictly necessary?

Morning! Absolutely beautiful day here today - sun shining, birds singing... can you tell I'm on an 'up' day?

My vitamins and whey powder arrived this morning yay! Might have a protein shake for lunch just to try it out. Have bought it mainly for quick brekkies when I am going to the office.

Busy day planned today - finally getting round to decorating dd1s bedroom. Have had all the wallpaper/paint/flooring etc sitting around the house for months. Can't wait to get it done now.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

I'm still here sal!

Yum your meal out sounds lovely. lol at the small croissant to finish off the evening. Glad you are back on track this morning.

We went out last night too to Frankie and Benny's. Had 2 gammon steaks with lots of salad and mayo, and large flat mushrooms. Oh and had a plate of drenched olives for pud (I dont have a sweet tooth so that was bliss). Really lovely. Stuck to fizzy water. Can't believe have managed to resist the booze for 2 whole weeks - is VERY unlike me!

So have managed to stick to the diet by the book for the first 2 wks. Weigh in tomorrow. Know I havent lost masses but it is slowly coming off. And I really dont feel like I am on a diet atall. Infact I seem to be enjoying my food now than I ever did!

gibbberish · 04/04/2010 13:39

more than I ever did. Need to preview...

bunjies · 04/04/2010 15:08

Hi

Have decided to eat what I want today so have had a couple of nibbles of the dcs chocs and a couple of glasses of red wine. Am about to have a roast dinner so will have a yorkie and a roastie and will also have a portion of rhubarb crumble with cream. I think that will do for one day!!

Happy Easter everyone!

Roast pork yummmmm

Starving. Need to go see what can have for dinner. Just done 45mins exercise and am whacked!

jeansnolongerfit · 04/04/2010 18:38

I'm going to join in from Tuesday (too much going on before then and need some time to get food sorted.)

Only five kgs to lose but it's enough.

The jeans are not fitting (feel bloated and blah at the moment) and I have a big night planned later this month and I want to feel good about it.

gibbberish · 05/04/2010 09:38

custy really needing some advice if you don't mind.

Finished week 2 and I have lost an incredible

3lbs...

And lost 1 cm off some places and none elsewhere.

Feeling majorly crap because have stuck religiously to the diet. Am drinking between 2 and 3l of water a day. Exercising every day. Recording everything I eat on fitday. No alcohol. Watching my cheese and cream intake. No nuts.

Considering you are supposed to have your biggest loss in the first 2 wks, I am very worried about how much I am going to continue losing... I want to lose this weight before I am 70!

I am having on average 21g of carbs daily (according to fitday). Doubt I am going to massively lose anything next week due to fluid or whatever bec if I had actually lost anything substantial it would have surely shown in the measurements.

So, am thinking that perhaps I need to severely reduce my carb intake to around 10 and I know this is what you do. Could you let me know if you think this is what I need to do and what you eat in a day as I think I am going to struggle!

gibbberish · 05/04/2010 09:52

Sorry, meant to say hello jeansnolongerfit.

Just ignore my post btw. Am having a whingy day. You will do fine.

Well Easter eggs have been a huge problem this week. I have eaten so many, but back on diet today. I should have got to my stone stone weight loss on sunday but think with all the chocolate will be pushing that back till next sunday.

Gibberish I eat up to 20grams carbs per day sometimes more and still manage to loss 2 lbs per week. But I am sure Custy will be able to tell you what she eats in a day which will help.

Welcome to jeansnolongerfit, ohnono, Mrs doolittle, bunjies, travellingwilbury.

Haven't posted for ages but still sticking to it.

jeansnolongerfit · 05/04/2010 10:54

Had toast for brekkie - just to get it out of the system. Did feel guilty afterwards, thought I really could have started today.

ohnono · 05/04/2010 14:23

me again. I finished 2nd week on sunday and had lost 3lbs so that's 9lbs so far. I should feel fab but just a little flat really. I suppose I had hoped for a bit more in week 2 given how much I have to lose. I'm off to my parents for a week with the kids tomorrow and dreading the food situation. Fully expecting mum to dish up large helping of pasta and risotto every night!

MrsDoolittle · 05/04/2010 22:32

tell me about it......

Weak, weak, weak, weak, describes me this past weekend. I have eaten everything in sight; chocolate, a cheesey potato bake, more roasties, alcohol in profuse quantities, errrr need I say more?

Phase one starts tomorrow ....proper...

questions2008 · 05/04/2010 22:45

hiya all, i've been lurking as i took up low-carbing about 3 weeks ago and had lost 5.5 kg week 2.

anyway, although i'm loving the fact that i no longer have sugar cravings like i used to, i needed a choc hit this evening and made a few spoonfuls of something really yummy i thought i'd share!

i just mixed 3 or 4 tspoons of cocoa powder, about that of powdered sweetner and some double cream...oh yum, twas like choclate and icecream, but better! and best bit just the few spoonsfuls was enough because of the cream.

i'm not sure how may carbs its got exactly, but you could measure it up exactly, 100g of cocoa has 13g, and double cream has 2.5 per 100ml, so depends on how much of those you use.

jeansnolongerfit · 06/04/2010 14:26

day one today - all good so far, but a bit annoyed at the amount of junk lurking in my cupboards and fridge. Need DH to clear these out for me so I am not tempted

Hello everyone. I'm late to this thread but some of you might know me from BIWI's low-carb thread (is there a new one for April btw?). Anyway I've been low-carbing since mid-Jan and until last week had lost 16lb (slow going because of a thyroid problem that is hopefully being sorted out with some meds now). Then I went on holiday and have put about 4 of those back on. So I'm climbing back on the wagon again as of today, and could do with some motivation.

Today I have eaten: two scrambled eggs, some cheese, a too carby lunch of leftovers that needed eating (including some humous and an avocado, with courgettes, feta, red onion, tomatoes and salad) and tonight I'm having sausages (M+S so a 97% pork one) with fried courgettes. I am not counting the square of 70% chocolate or the slice of mango. As I said, I'm climbing back on, not jumping back in.

MrsDoolittle · 06/04/2010 19:16

Day 1.

Poached egg and ham for breakfast.

Girls lunch - beef bourginon and celeriac mash with green beans. Only the celeriac mash was potato mash. Annoyed that I had been served potatoe mash and had my first day carb-free sabotaged, I complained. I was given another serving of celeriac mash but I was disappointed.

I have managed to avoid the volumes of chocolate in the house. So we shall see.......

How is everyone else doing?

We've had chicken in a creamy tarragon and mustard sauce with green beans.

However, we have also drunk a bottle of red wine between us. Not so sure that's a good thing .....

MrsDoolittle · 07/04/2010 16:49

Scrambled egg and smoked salmon trimmings for breakfast.

Crunchy salad and tuna in homemade mayonnaise for lunch.

Lots of tea, mixed lunch and a mini cheese to distract me from the vast amounts of chocolate sitting around the house

gibbberish · 07/04/2010 17:33
